eww, 15 is yucky bass

10's have great mid, 12s have a bit more depth but 15s have no mid at all.

go a 12. its plenty. 1 15 would have horrible SQ.

yer thats what i guessed...

They were on sale at strathfield for 149$ for the 15" and box... was bit like wtf

But 12 it is

not so much interested in SQ or SPL, more something with a bit of bass behind it.

Dont want to spend thousands just a basic sub in a box an amp and a decent head unit

One thing i dont want is my window's vibrating, its more for my enjoyment rather then some guy 25m behind me in is modded lancer...o i mean lowered....

No seriously i know havnt given much detail. But i think 12" would be a good bet with a decent HU and amp correct? What something that when turned down has that bass, and then able to be up in the i want to go deaf area with bass too....

Man i wish i could explain things better

yep if you're just after some deep and clean bass, 12 is the middle ground...

i personally have a 10", but i dont listen to bass driven music...

15 is ridiculous. unless its a very expensive sub, it will probably sound yuk :(

There many ways to decide what size is adequate for your system.

For basic set - up, primarily for all-rounder, yes 12 is probably is better. Especially if you are into R&B, Hip Hop kind of music where the bass note is long. Bigger your sub, the longer is the sound - as the bound is slower in bigger sub.

If you like dance music, jazz or easy listening, 10' is probably better. 10' you get this quick respond from the sub, for sharp deep bass.

Those are the basic characteristic of subwoofer size that I know of and experienced.

My 10' subwoofer is very meaty, but it won't be as nice as having a 12' when I listen to Hip-Hop music simply because its not as booming or hammering as the 12'.

Decide if you like it tight or loose.. I personally like it tight..

2 x 10s are good but for your purposes the 1 x 12 will do :D
