No fuel prime sound

Just wondering on most cars you hear that beeping when you turn the key it's the fuel priming on startup I have never noticed hearing this sound in my car ever. Just wondering if this is normal not to hear it when you turn your key in the ignition

Hi Steve, Can't say I have ever heard it beeping to prime our Presara mate All I know is I hit the start and it goes vrooom every time so I would not worry, as long as it starts it is fine.

I've not heard mine beep before, you can sometimes hear the mechanical sound of it priming if you listen for it though.

Typically, those beeping sounds don't signify the fuel system priming up. They are usually associated with a general system initialisation process. Some cars do it and some don't, depending on makes and models I guess.

The "sound" of a submerged in-tank fuel pump priming the system is often not audible from the driver's seat, if you're outside the car or have the back seats removed you'll be more likely to hear it, it'll just be a faint high-pitched hissing/rushing sound much like an aquarium or pond pump.
