Spark plug removal rav 4 2015

Recommended Posts

Hi new to this forum in Australia, have a 2015 rav 4 , trying to change spark plugs 16 mm spark plug socket and tried 16mm deep socket.
They don't seem to locate the spark plug but , there seems to be some sort of washer thingy stopping the socket placing itself.
Any suggestions please.

3zf-fe engine 2litre petrol,

Hi David, It should be a 3ZR-FE.

Did you peer down onto the well of each plug and see there isn't anything fouling the socket ?? It is also possible someone may have left a grommet behind from a previous spark plug change. This can also stop your socket from locating onto the hex.

If that isn't the issue then I suspect you're not using a thin wall socket for this. The well is quite tight and some regular sockets may not get enough space for purchase onto the hex of the plug.
