16k 4 Levin Hatch 2 get fixed !?!

Hi everyone, my sister's '05 Levin hatchbk got into a crash at an intersection the other day, and front of the car doesn't look pretty, though the engine is ok, the cops rang the tow truck and got towed to their garage, and got quoted 16900 $ to get if fixed, I know it seems a lot of money( especially 4 my Sister), but does anyone know where I could sell the car for a good price or take the good bits for my Stivo and then flogg it off, the mechanic reckons between 3 and 4 grand. I'll get some pics 2moro to show u all.

ps. I'm thinkin of towing it back to my house insted of it stayin at the garage cause they're chargin us 15 or 20 bucks a day 2 keep it there. Any thoughts? Thanx guys.

no insurance?

Are the chassis rails bent? Airbags deployed?

It's pretty difficult to estimate repair costs from a vague description.

go to a car auction centre and put it in the damaged vehicle auction

ull get around 3-10k (10k if ur lucky concidering the amount of damage u have said)

thanx guys, I'll check out Fowles website, and yep No insurance, my sister just moved back from Sydney a couple of months back and in all the problems she had and trying to arrange moving here she 4got to pay the insurance :( Airbags were deployed, not sure about the chassis rails (dont see it on the list they gave me, so probably ok then), the rear is intact and it's Silver. I'll post some pics after 3:30pm 2day, thanx again 4 the ideas. :)

nothing beats the customer service of fowles, however they have long procedures in order to sell your car

the last car i bought from them was in storage for well over 6 months ^^; however they are great.

i reckon you will get more at the auctions then selling off your car piece by piece on this forum.

      If you haven't sorted the problem out yet, I would recommend looking into whether the intake manifold seals are leaking. These were very common, but it won't explain the ignition coil issue.

      RATTLING CAMRY 2013

      I really hope someone can help me with my annoyingly loud problem… my camry has a loud rattle whenever its in gear, it stops once its in park or neutral. Ive checked the heat shields they are good. If anyone has any suggestions, ill be much appreciated… plus when its warmed up and driven around its harder to start. I’ve attached a video of the rattle, you can hear when i put it into gear it rattles then stops when its in park.       Corolla 3k modified engine + 5 speed box For SALE

      Hi all, I have owned this engine for approx 30 years, it has not run in the last 15 years. needs rebuild, at the least new rings. Was last informed that the Cam was not aligned correctly after the fitting of a new timing chain and head Was originaly a stock 3K 1.2L ke20 for the first 7 years before becoming tired and worn-out. I was so happy with the engine that i spent at least 2 thou on a full rebuild including rebore to 1.3L, very lumpy billit cam, hi comp ported head double springs,fully balanced, lightend flywheel.ect ect Due to budget I could only afford a 32 Webber down draught carby (probably needs new carby kit), stock distributer and a 5 speed manual Would very much like to see it go to a new home so it can come back to life and rev hard again. Please ask any questions you may have.

      Canning Prado or 200

      Hi All Just joined - trying to decide between a Prado or 200 for the CSR next year. l'll be a single in the car in a group of 5 vehicles. Not owing. I appreciate whatever I get will need some mods. And I know I am on the Prado Club forum but I am hoping for some unbiased opinion! The Prado needs to carry less fuel which is a big advantage but what I am more concerned about is whether it is rugged enough. Any thoughts and especially experience, much appreciated!       Auto To Manual Swap Reverse Light Switch Wiring

      Hello, I am trying to figure out the reverse light switch wiring connections to complete the tranny swap in my Toyota Corolla 7AFE, just need some help to figure which two wires from the plug in the transmission that has to be connected with the reverse switch in-order for the Reverse bulbs to light up when I put the car in reverse, the wiring color of the bulb is Red with Blue for live and white with black for ground, Thank you!

      2002 Door Handle Issue

      Unusual problem. Driver's side external door handle would not function with window in fully closed position. Would function with window open around 12mm. Removed door trim - visual inspection showed plastic clip at top of one of the actuating rods had become unclipped and was being hit by the metal rail on the bottom of the window glass when the window neared fully closed. Easiest solution was to apply Loctite Extreme Glue to clip and re-attach it to the rod. Fingers crossed it stays attached.
