HOW TO POST IMAGES

Recommended Posts

Mods ... can we please pin this

Some members struggle with posting up images on the forums so here's a quick guide:

- First of all your image should be hosted on the Internet somewhere,

- Try www.imageshack.net (its easy)

- Once the image uploaded then copy the URL address which should look something like this:

http://gazoo.com/nvis/im/egim/2ZZ-GE.jpg

- To place your image into a post click the 'IMG' code button at the top of the new topic page & paste in the URL from the image. (the one that looks like a little green tree) It will then be displayed like this:

2ZZ-GE.jpg

- Essentially as long as the Internet 'address' of your image is surrounded by these tags you'll be ok.

One thing to remember is to try not to post-up massive images in terms of size - as this will slow the site down, don't forget those people on 56k dial-up connections who will have to wait ages for an image to load!

hope this makes things easier ....

(poached most of this from TOCUK ....)

Thanks

Jase

Hi All,

For the time being please use this method.

If there are alternate image hosting websites e.g. http://www.filelodge.com

please simply post the website here.

As for the garage .... due to the recent hacking incidents this has been switched off by steve the forum admin ... once it is sorted he will let us know.

cheers

Bill

i use photobucket, and you can download the "photobucket uploader".. its a little program that lets you do the whole uploading process from windows (meaning its much faster) and then you just tell it to upload all your photos and it resizes them to 200kb and puts them in your album...

then you go to your album and under each photo there is a URL, TAG, and IMG lines you can copy...

To post on here, you would just copy what's in the IMG line, and put it straight in your text, as it automatically puts the %7Boption%7D codes in....

Also any BIGPOND users have BigBlog available to them. 10Mb and anything you upload to your BigBlog site does not count to your downloads for the month.
