APPALLING CUSTOMER SERVICE

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

I invite you all to post the worst encounters that you've had the misfortune of experiencing, when looking for a car. Feel free also to name the dealership, yard, whatever, as well so that people reading this can know to avoid these places like the plague. Let me start:

Dealer:

Nepean Motor Group

Mulgoa Road

Penrith

Complaint:

extremely rude, bordering on abusive customer service basically for firstly, not agreeing blindly to pay their over-inflated, out-of-touch with the market, rip-off prices and secondly for telling them we could double our money selling our car privately rather than accept their insulting trade-in offer. We then felt threatened for our personal safety when we were ejected from the premises.

I have never experienced this in my life before and am still amazed. I will never even contemplate buying a car from Penrith again let alone this dealership. This is free advice. Take it our leave it. But I implore you to take it, save your time, and look somewhere else.

Dude you went to Toyota. That always happens lol.

I've always been one to look privately for cars. When it comes to these dealers though...my *** some of them just suck.

I'm now getting my car serviced by my godfathers workshop up in liverpool sydney. Sick and tired of Dealers not having knowledge of my car. Bill (xoom) has told me enough horror stories to make me make this decision.

PS: Concerned about warranty? Don't be. There are only small things that need to be ironed out in these cars (1zz and 2zz) and warranty will help with that. Warranty is a sales tool...I know all too well as I used to sell them like wildfire when selling computers. Don't be afraid to tell Toyota Australia to shove it up their a55. Do it. You'll feel better knowing that someone you trust is servicing your car, isn't that right Sunny?

nah man, I'm talking about buying a new car and Nepean Motor Group on Mulgoa isn't a toyota dealership. They have cars from suby's to nissan's. They're a used car dealership. But totally agree with you about some of them sucking after what I saw over the weekend. And yeah about toyota am sticking with them for now but hey that could change if they don't look after my set of wheels. Went from Parramatta to castle hill and they seemed pretty good out there.

No probs- not trying to have a go at anyone, just talking from experience on other forums, sorry was just a friendly warning thats all..

....i dont want anything to border the lines of defamation, especially when you are posting company names, locations & warning people to stay away from their business

_________Slander and libel

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

(Redirected from Defamation)

In law, defamation is a right of action for communicating statements that may harm an individual's reputation or character. The common law origins of defamation lie in the torts of slander (harmful statement in a transitory form, especially speech) and libel (harmful statement in a fixed medium, especially writing but also a picture, sign, or electronic broadcast), each which give a common law rights of action.

"Defamation" is the general term used internationally, and is used in this article where it is not necessary to distinguish between "slander" and "libel". Libel is defamation that is published, but can also happen in other forms, such as effigy, a motion picture, or a statue; slander refers to any verbal, unpublished, defamation.

People have a right to hear the kind of service and treatment i received there. If it's viewed as defamation then the place i went to is at fault, not me as all I'm doing is replaying my experience there. I do understand though where you're coming from and I appreciate the sentiment Ms Rola.

Cheers :) would love a new rolla, but i cant part with this one just yet !

Speakin of wheels- that brings me to a bad customer service experience i had, i like to tell this story mainly for the chickies, Tempe Tyres fitted my 17s and i drove home with a horrible scrubbin noise, only to find out the next day- that they had fitted the wheel flush against the strut! They let me drive out of there with no worries to them at all, i'm not in anyway sayin dont go there, as i like their products, but i suggest watching them if you get them 2 do it, or buying them & getting soome1 else to fit them :) there we go my story :)

I personally had a crappy experience at Terry Shields Toyota.

I was looking to buy a new Yaris sedan for my mum, and they salesman (yes he was male and an arrogant pig), he tells me a price thats above the RRP, and said well do you want to buy it today? If not heres the price.

I made him go thru all the charges from the RRP + on road + dealer delivery, even after i made him go thru it twice and showed him the result, he still insisted i didnt add something in (even though it was him telling me the figures).

I asked him if he was actually interested selling a car in which he replied only if you wanna buy it today and i said not at that price. So he tells me that he's not worried cos these car will sell themselves.

As far as im concerned im never ever going back to Terry Shields toyota, so far the cheapest Toyota dealer (if you know how to bargain) has been Phil Gilbert @ Lidcombe.

Cheers :) would love a new rolla, but i cant part with this one just yet !

Well Tempe tyres are known for dodgy sh!t, once your car is on the floor and driving away, its no longer their problem. Ive been told they are one of the few places that use spacers (even though spacers are illegal).

Just remember you pay for what you get (well at Tempe tyres you do anyway LOL)

Damn straight! They are the best toyota dealer I've had experience with.

Peter Warren near Liverpool on the other hand were hopeless. A guy there indicated to my parents after they tried to bargain his stubborn a$$ down a bit that they would not give them a price, instead they would have to drive to Phil Gilbert @ lidcombe, get a price then drive back to liverpool and then he maybe would consider matching it!!! So my parents thought stuff this and they jus went to Phil Gilbert @ lidcombe where people actually did proper business (And they ended up scoring a great deal there).

I also had a bad experience with a Toyota dealer in Canberra. After receiving a (large) sum of money for (really) good year 12 results, my girlfriend was looking to buy a new car. So we went around to the usual dealers - Toyota, Nissan, Honda, Mazda. We went to Toyota first, and I enquired about the Corolla - the idiot salesman looked us up and down, then replied "The only used Corolla we have is over there", he then nodded in the direction of an AE102 sitting over in the corner, then walked off... My girlfriend is the proud owner of a brand new Honda Civic :D

I believe if someone has had a bad experience at a particular company he has the right to warn us and to not warn others would be letting them just rip someone else off .i know this has nothing to do with cars but never get insurance on your mobile i had mine stolen from my room and they refused to pay due to my room not being a secure area !my door wasnt locked .the company is the one vodafone uses and its name is marsh insurance.

man i had something similar with that place on canterbury rd ,it was called australia best i think.anyway they put 18s on my fto and i drove off and when full locked it was hitiing the inside of my wheel arch i went back and they said you gotta get it modified .6 months later my left rear brakes started making loud noises and what i found out was they had used spacers and one of them wasnt sitiing on right or had moved and warped my disc ,so just check peeps if the wheels actually asre gonna give more dramas then they are worth

Tell people of your experiences, but dont tell them not to go there, just to cover your *****'s. We are smart, and if some-one tells us of something bad happening then its up to ourselves to make the choice to go or not, and the choice im sure is obvious :D hope you guys/girls what i mean

I had the same experience at a Subaru dealer in Adelaide, The same dealer I serviced my old car with for 2 1/2 years and that my parents had bought both their cars from...

I test drove Hondas fine, Peugeouts fine, Citroens fine, Mazda/Protons fine, Holdens fine, Nissans fine... then settled on the Toyota. It was just this prick Subaru dealer that didn't want a bar of me...

Hey, big thanks to all you guys for getting behind this topic. MsRola your words are on the money. By all means continue to voice your experiences, but stop short of telling people to avoid a particular company. That's when one can get into trouble. We can all read between the lines with stuff that's posted here :) I actually contacted Mitsubishi as well over Nepean Motor Group and they have asked me if I wish to take it further. I'm still deciding on that one. A list will be made from this discussion and I'll post it up as soon as it's done. thanks again.

Same here. Mazda salesperson wasn't a bad guy, just very reluctant to even drop the price by a dollar. A month later, he calls me up and asks if I was still interested to which I said I had already bought a Corolla  I bet they get a lot of that.

A previous Toyota dealer I went to was so damn pushy it was like if you don't buy, you're gonna die type of thing. Wanted to sell me a 2nd hand Corolla when I kept looking and asking for the price of a brand new one. Didn't let me buy a brand new Corolla for some reason. I think these guys get more commission selling 2nd hand cars or something. He wanted 27k (drive away) for a 2nd hand (25000kms) Levin hatch and tells me how the car was gonna sell really fast blah blah blah and I better be quick or else I'd miss out. Almost literally pushed us into the office to start talking about securing a deal. Man it was pretty pathetic. You could see how mad they were when we left without wanting to buy it.

Ended up buying a brand new Levin for the same price a week later. The idiot salesman from the previous dealer calls up about 2 weeks later telling me the Levin was still for sale. Told him I had already bought a BRAND NEW one for the same price he wanted. He gave a huge sigh like he was about to quit his job or something and then says "Well you're more then welcome to come back for any parts or accessories or even servicing and we'll give you a special discount card too".

Last time I saw that dealer, I think they were being demolished
