Hey Guys,

I was reading the Suspension, Brakes, Tyres and Rims post and saw the comments about EBC brakes so I did a bit of searching and found the following. It seem that the sportivo has the same calipers as the normal corolla just larger discs, and apparently the sportivo is a turbo ;)

I had EBC greenstuff on my last corolla (Modded AE92 with 20V and Larger diameter discs and twin piston caliper brake upgrade ect.) And i would deffinately reccomend these pads to anyone considering changing their pads, the pads were a bit pricey compared to endix etc. but well worth it in my opinion, they had very low dust and stopped excellently :D ......

EBC "Green Stuff" pads are, in my opinion, the best street pads available for the price.

I need race grade pads though, my new front brake setup consists of Brembo 4-pot calipers with a 315mm cross-drilled and slotted zinc rotor... ;) :D

a few other members recommend the ebc green stuff pads too. i need to change my front brake pads and i think i will go with the green stuff. do you know where in melbourne i can go to get it at a competitive price?

Not sure about competitve pricing, but the only place I know of that sells them off the top of my head is Brakes Plus in Nunawading (ph (03) 9877 7600). Their price seemed pretty reasonable off the top of my head, something like.... argh, I forgot.

I think the other Brakes Plus stores can get them in too, I tried asking around before when I needed brake pads, but you have to go in to pay upfront or leave a deposit.

tangcla thanks i will look into it.

my usual brake shop would machine the front rotors and put in bendix brake pads for $85. as the saying goes you get for what you pay for so i am not worried with spending more for ebc green stuff but if it runs ~$700 i will look at some pads from japan.

haha, only just noticed what you were trying to point out ... they got the year and engines all wrong! :P

MAP81 should have also pointed out the damage the EBC pads can do to your factory discs if you give them a hard time... take for example this pic of MAP81's old brakes after an afternoon mountain run...

The original Corolla Sportivo was a turbo in the last body shape.  They were all painted gold to my recollection.

That is very true, but the AE112R was only produced in small numbers (500 if my info is correct) from march 2001 and in december toyota introduced the ZZE122R corolla, for more clarification see my post here the fact that it lists the ZZE123 as the model and has 2002 onwards lead me to beleive that they are the parts for the zze123 sportivo...... But as tangcla said there are alot of mistakes on the list....
