Tein STech Sportivo Spring Kit - YES or NO

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys!!

Had a look at the SUSPENSION section in the ALREADY COVERED ISSUES by Northy but the outcome was that COIL OVERS was the best option!

Not all of us can afford to buy COIL OVERS! So wit that said!

What would be the best option between the 3 SPRING KITS BELOW :

(Considering the fact that the original shocks are gonna be used?

1. Eibach ( approx. 30mm )

2. Koni ( approx. 35mm )

3. Tein ( Front-50mm Rear-35mm )

Thanks again!!

My personal preference would be Eibach. They have more loops in the spring which allow for a more progressive spring rate - so it's comfortable when you want it to be and stiff when you need it to be if that makes sense. Only negative is the price. About $650 for a set. I almost had my hands on a set half price about a year ago but that fell through! Also, although they are 30mm they will settle to 35 or a little lower.

eibach but they are expensive. good thing with these is they come with insulators to prevent the progressive springs from rubbing on each other. s-tech is only the coils no insulators and i think koni is the same.

for the live of your shocks I'd say Eibach

I had Tein S-Tech before and they are great gut you need shocks to match, the stock ones become too bouncy real fast.

So wat youre say is that I need to put SHORTEN SHOCKS (KONI) or REPLACEMENT AFTERMARKET SHOCKS (GABRIEL GASRYDERS OR KYB)???

I was under the impression that the TEIN STECH would be fine on standard shocks!!!

????????

if you were to offer me Eibach springs or D2 coilovers i would take the eibach. yes they are half the price to a set of coilovers but decent coilovers you should budget for around $2,000.

LOOKS LIKE EIBACH IS THE BEST CHOICE WITH REGARDS TO SPRING ONLY KIT!!!

AND I THOUGHT TOYOTA BEING JAPANESE THAT TEIN WOULD BE THE BEST OPTION BUT.....

BLUE STIVO - so you suggest that if TEIN STECH was installed then best bet would be to change shocks too. BUT wat shocks AFTERMARKET REPLACEMENT SHOCKS (KYB, GABRIEL GASRYDERS) or SHORTENED SHOCKS ( KONI )!!!???

any of those shocks mentioned whuld be fine. They should be revalved to fit when installed.

Konis would be the preference though.

REVALVED??? What is revalved? How do you that? And who does that?? Cost???

So far only 2 people have had major issues with the D2's (installation) and a few have had issues due to poor intallation.

Why is it mine aren't having issues? They were test fitted on my godfathers ascent and he said they are fine. Bangn's were fine. Steves were fine, he had hiccups but they are still fine. Goodboyz hasn't had too many issues, nor tony to my knowledge.

good info shaohaok. i never knew there was fake tein springs.

the counterfeit looks professional. the painting quality looks very good. the tein logo as a sticker is a real give away that there is something wrong with the product.
