Hey, I've got the stereo in the face-lifted corolla.. and specs are as follows:

[AUDIO AMPLIFIER]

Power Output....17.5W per channel into 4 ohms

.......................1kHz at 1.0% THD

.......................Max. 40W X 4

I think its the maximum power output of the amplifier i.e 40W .. there's nothing in the manual stating the maximum power output of the speakers

40watts is peanuts man...i would be complaining if its 100 watts

they rtunning off a stock AMP??

or is this the power output from the HU ?

Posted

hmm coz im gonna change the head... most of them are like 200...

so i wanna know.. how good the speakers are....

so if its 40 wt.. i can still get more out of it.. from a better head.. is that right?

you would never get anywhere near 100w each channel from a headunit. :P

the toyota headunit hole is bigger than normal size. they have a unique size (wider than usual). the spacers are to cover the gaps on each side after you have put in your new headunit.

How would you know?

If there's holes on either side of the HU when you install it... :P

Stock speakers will definitely be able to handle a new HU. Will also sound better than the stock HU. But how long they last is dependant on how you treat them. :)

because i said the toyota headunit slot is a unique size. its wider than standard double din size.

so.. i just have to measure the length of the new HU.. n see if it fits perfectly.. to the slot in my corolla.. right?

LOL, Sorry dude, wasn't questioning you're knowledge. :)

Was letting the OP know how to figure out if he needed the spacers or not. :P

listened to them at a few places so far

2 diff JB hifi and motoquipe

for the headunit - they only come in standard Dinn width .. the new toyotas use wider ones so u HAVE to get spacers for the sides .. what year is ur rolla? if u have the grey interior then i think you will be ok as this was before they introduced the wider stereo.

ah ok... maybe it's just our ears, i personally find the pioneers very good in the high range, high clarity, rich... 'crisp'... it was pretty good with the music, now with the gun shots and aeroplanes blowing up (recent dvd headunit upgrade)... the speakers really shine :D ... certaintly not the best of course but bang for the buck :)
