  1. i suppose that depends how much you eat while your asleep
  2. 5k for a 2grfe thats insane man id be temted to buy that and a new corolla and try and make it fit i mean you buy a base corolla for say 20k that engine for 5k surely mounting and other runing gear wouldnt exceed 15k so for 40k you have a mighty fast corolla
  3. im starting this topic 1 reason its raining and im at home other reason i think mines pretty impressive its 103sq meters has 3 roller doors 2 single 1 doube bath room with shower toilet and vanity painted floor light grey colour 70lt compressor with 305l/m free air deliver (enogh to run workshop air tools) 3/4" pipe running from compressor to central air real which is a 20m 1/2" real also work shop grade i have 300+piece tool kit in there +engine crane and stand, floor jack and jack stands i have a tv hooked up in there i have alot of power point including 2x 15amp and 12x 10amp sockets locate in conveniant positions all 240V though no 3 phase and 3 rows of 2 flueros to light it up unfortunatly its not perfect i dont have a hoist or work bench but am hoping for a full length of the rear wall work bench as soon as i get hold of some steel and a welder oh and no beer fridge yet but its coming
  4. by the look of things there people that like V8's and those people will never be sueded to a 4cylinder not even if you paid them
  5. i know thats why im asking a question where is the best place to advertise a car like this with the mods and all to get the best dollar possible
  6. nah its ok i do understand were your coming from it just upsets me i see stuff like that every day with underqualifed people working on cars not respecting the fact its someone elses vehicle i just hope your experences improve cause if people stop buy and servicing toyotas i may not have a job for such a good manufacturer in the future
  7. In the interests of maintaining the site rules, I have edited the post as it essentially is a 'For Sale' post outlining features, specifications, and costs. Buy and Sell rules of this site only allow paid members to advertise their cars for sale. Sorry, but rules are rules.
  8. hey guys im upset to read this as im a toyota dealer mechanic an i take much pride in my work as i dont enjoy have to talk to irrate customers and ive found best way to avoid upsetting customers is to fix there complantes though i have experienced some customers that even i can not help as they have very very high expectations or had a bad sales experiance and they bring that to the service department so people please bare in mind there are some dealer mechanics that will bend over backwards for the customer if the dealer your dealing with doesnt try another to impove the experience and build your trust in toyota again
  9. ill be going as i like the concepts/ up and coming vehicles and its a day out shame bout all the manufacturers that arnt coming my miss will be dissapointed shes a mini fan would have liked to see the mini cooper coupe concept she'd poss sell her cooper jcw for a sleek coupe
  10. locate jap auto wreaker and get your self a front cut poss cheapest option as if the engine wiring is different you get an ecu aswell and most imports are low km and some import wreakers offer some waranty aswell
  11. depending on how much pressure your goin to put the the engine lower compression isnt required as alot of new factory turbo engine will use high 10-1 compression ratios eg mini jcw has 10.5-1 comp ratio so if your only gonna run like 6psi as long as you know a good tuner 10+-1 comp is tunable ive seen standard 4ag20v which have 11-1 comp run 10psi no dramas and they make almost as much power as mine and im running 20psi but only 8.2 comp so think about that more comp less boost for similar outputs
  12. hey guys i like the photos of the turbo 2grfe and im not wanting crazy power hikes basically similar output as the trd aurion so engine internals will be fine left standard as they are in the aurion (hope this doesnt start another heated discusion) i was more curious as in the ecu part cost and some photos of a super/turbocharged rav i know the trd supercarger off the trd aurion will fit theres actually more room in front of the engine to run a seperate charger belt on a rav compared to an aurion but supercargers are more expensive and harder to increase boost pressure then a turbo and i also know a to find a writen of trd aurion and pinch the ecu and engine wont work as the ecu has transmission control as well and rav is 5speed were as aurion is 6 so piggy back or complete ecu will more then likely be required any way guys once again great pics and thanks for a little insight
  13. fair enough but i bet its still dowled or has some other form of block strengthening i would like to see that motors build up if you can find pics or vids hook me up your an illawarra local hey when you take your w/e car out next let me know ill bring my rolla out
  14. what about final drives (front and rear diffs) if the transmission and tranfer where done thats all thats left in driveline its not wheel bearings is it you did check them its not engine related as in it only makes the noise when your at speed drive line or stationary if you rev your engine to certain rpm
  15. is that the orange exige jason built and tunes that car southen motor works if it is that engine is dowled sleved the works
  16. so what car do you have now with the 2j (oh chaser was a 1j anyway hey) ah i should have know atlantic engines were 4a's as i have the rods in my engine the 3sg are in the jdm 2000 racers or what ever the devision is
  17. so you know the bores of the alloy blocks have nothing holding them at the top and they can flex because of this yes you agree??? also every 1 know the best strongest and easest toyota engine to make massive power from is th 2j I've got 2x 2J's aswell, one in my weekender Dowel the sleeves if you're that worried about it, or CNC close deck the block. Not that it's required though when you look at the 600hp 2zz's that track race both in Aus and overseas. 2zz are you sure because the atlantic race engines are 3sg's 2ltr they still use them today and ive seen your chaser nice car btw id love 1
  18. wow someone likes there ford torous enough to do that wow indeed
  19. so you know the bores of the alloy blocks have nothing holding them at the top and they can flex because of this yes you agree??? also every 1 know the best strongest and easest toyota engine to make massive power from is th 2j but they power chasers use the iron block not the alloy block which the 2j comes with both
  20. actually the whole engine was redisigned buy yamaha hence the 7 ribed engine block and cast steel crank and yes i know the 2zzge or 1zzge will make and handle power but they both require strengthening to the block as its alloy and flimsey have you seen either of these engines apart?? i have and ive seen what they have to do to the ZZ engine to make it strong enough to handle boost where as the A series engine blocks dont require any strengthening and thats all i meant by what i said before. did i tell you my engine will handle about 600+hp but it will never make 600+ hp as my crank is strong my rods are stronger and my pistons well there forged but im not runing racing fuels or 60psi and its only a 1.6ltplease dont argue with me i know what toyota engine are capable of and if i dont know people that build them up hence why ive seen what needs doing to the soft alloy blocks of the ZZ engines to make them strong remember its the head that makes a 2zzge go good with its vvtl i that head with a iron block and 20+ psi boost would be much better
  21. nothing like an arguement over who has the bigger u know what but being a fan of the A series motors i know with a bit of work they with put out and handle more power then the ZZ motors because of the nice strong but heavy cast iron block were as the alloy of the ZZ requires reinforcing to handle big power and 180kw @ wheels would be easely achievable in a 7A i mean im making about 190kw @wheels with a 4A how long it will last with out stronger rods crank and pistons thats the unknown but i know a standard 4age will handle up to 18psi with standard internals but the 4age was also developed by yamaha so yeah factory good cast steel crank will handle big power without up grading like 400+ ive been told so yeah id try 16-18 psi you'll make 180kw @ wheel but yeah for how long ???
  22. i know the corolla and the corolla 2 are different but have you finished yours yet and if so how much power did you make i know when it comes to corolla's you cant beat bill's stivo but hey im not to far off how bout you
  23. must be time for a new car its ok though that model camry is the worst especially with the 1vz engine the vz engine along with the fz engine are not toyota's best examples
  24. I ma follow the majority.. thats cool i was just seeing if anyone might deviate on return trip i dont want to dispute the start route id go but its to far to drive to be there at 9:30 for me i suppose i could meet at finish point at bowral/mittagong i will see. last toc drive day i went on the rolla was getting sprayed so i had to take the ute was good but would have been better if i had the corolla
  25. i must say take it to your local dealer which would be south side im not from QLD but i have family and friends up there heads on that model tarago TCR10 or wombat arnt fun ive done 2. 1 with emition pipe and 1 without 1 with out was much easier. the bigest issue is the chain guide when takeing the head off and refitting if you slip it could be all bad but apart from the small access hole your have to do the job its not to bad exhuasts nice and easy to take off intake manifold stays in the car easy 1 other thing dont argue with price to much as its and old car now when the pull it down some things that may not have needed doing may break just take it in your strides and replace it toyota dealerships wont (shouldnt) rip you off unessessarily where as some garages will and expect to pay any where from $1500-$3000 depending on whats up with the head and what doesnt play nice when pulling it down
