  2. oil, plugs, driving habbits, gearbox oil, life of the car, history of the car, all do make a difference. dont think AT ALL every stock stivo built in 05 will have the same kw ATW now...
  3. handy when you know mechanics... but sux when its HOT! Yesterday in syd was boiling, i must of lost 1kg while taking a head off the side of the road...
  4. ok i dont know what setup u got, so u say ur amp isnt powering up? check ur remote wire, have u got 12V at your remote wire? if u do, then check ur supply voltage, ie the main fuse for that big red cable for ya amp.. all good? check ur earth.. if all good, and fuses are good, amp is gone. my sub cut out, it was the sub that stuffed up. i replaced it and all is working fine now, tho the amp still turned on and had power...
  5. hmm what a project... motor + box out as one... seperate box n motor, s/f light flywheel, hd clutch, refit box to new motor. change oil + filter, change g/b oil, supply new coolant. blueslip for new motor number... fun i reckon, plus the little bits and peices along the way, incase u find something, ie worn engine mounts, oil leak on new motor, etcetc, water pump? so much to thinkkkkk

  7. sh!t aye Anthony... ive seen rods bend, snap, then spin and hit the side of the block, cracking the block. best off getting a motor with low k's from the wreckers i reckon, while its out i spose u can get lighten flywheel, HD clutch aswell...
  8. always get pulled over, yet nothing said about tyres, they checked the tread, i got a fine for 1 tyre, they allowed the rest. so i got a fine for that, yet they didnt look under my bonnet for pod or cai, nothing said about eyelids and h.i.d's, and this was after i got caught speeding.. i was just honest, yup i did a bad mistake, im an idiot.. i get let off the speeding but did the tyre... good luck with the dispute.
  9. i lost them ages ago. on my way to richmond and hit a bump, heard a scrape and looked in my mirror and that was it lol
  10. lol dextron is usually red yeh meaning like auto/ps oil? from my experience dealing with manual gearboxes, should be clear. if auto red
  11. interesting.... could be an earth problem. got a multimeter? or a test light? check for earth at the bulbs, + power, if u got both ur bulbs are gone ( long shot ), could be a relay problem? not sure? fuse? or switching fault?? got a wiring diagram?

'lsd' gearbox? is just a normal gearbox with a lsd differential as dave said. you have to pull the gearbox apart, and replace the stock diff inside the crown wheel with a lsd. and as for a HD clutch, just go exedy HD. around 450 mark. and LSD 1249.00 from MWR This is my old stock differential before it decided to crap itself because im getting the hint you dont know what your on about.

  15. pretty much, just makre sure when bleeding it the radiator cap is the highest point ie put a bottle or funnel to bring the water level to the highest point. i usually get it to op temp, turn it off n let it sit for 5, ull see it go down, sqeeze the hoses and watch the air bubbles come out. then u should be sweet.. best i can go without going into details
  16. so i take it when u say u bent valves, ur chain spat itself and timing went out? why dont u just to big end bearings, and top end, do u really need to go and get all the extras like thermostats, and waterpumps?
  17. when i do a w/a on my car, i set it to 0 degrees toe and -1 degrees camber on both sides
  18. got it apart, bearings out, ready for new ones, just waiting for them to arrive !!
  19. When I got my eyelids done I asked for a tin of paint. So I got 8p4 blue aswell and the eyelids came really close to the bonnet so it's why I still got the tin. Used it for a couple of stone chips too from trucks and sall good
  20. nope it's been sweet up until driving home sun night, started the car and it was almost instant wasn't a slow thing which was weird Got a long ***** prybar and put my ear to it and the other end to the alternator and it's buzzing no rush things in the garage but new bearings would be nice, might quote them up tomorrow, hope they arnt hard to do
  21. best? Belt? It's got a tentioner? I've never touched the alternator ever, yes genuine only touched the belt when I did a waterpump beginning august..
  22. i didn't no. i actually used that to support the motor while the gearbox was out ( gearbox holds 3 of the 4 engine mounts ) so i put abit of wood between the sump and the frame which held it up. but ive heard others support it with a engine bridge and remove the frame.
