  1. once you have got your windows tinted contact your insurance company to advise the modification so it will be added to your record. if not and damage is caused to your windows your insurance company might not replace the window tinting. you can tint your front window and i think the maximum size is 160mm height from the top edge. your insurance could be voided for many reasons like wrong indexed tyres, too big wheels (height and width), unboxed air intake system, aftermarket management chip etc. please read the regulations of your local road laws to find out what is permitted and what is not.
  2. i think all places have window tinting film at 5% (and some even smaller %) and all you need to do is ask them for it. please check with the dealer and also with your local road laws what % is legal for rear windows and for front windows. i have written about light/dark interiors and light/dark paint exterior and how this affects the look of window tinting already, please search for this post if you are interested in reading more.
  3. female models? melbourne motor show, not tokyo motor show! only saw fosters girls or vodafone ferrari dancers but this was at fed square. who got the gear knob and cigarette lighter parts from the sportivo?
  4. rollin please take your car for service and have the faulty windows seals replaced. you need to leave your car as the mechanic needs to take your door off the car to loop the new window seal onto your window/door frame. while your car is in for service you could also ask for a shocks test. the new window seal i have is great but only time will tell if this is due to it being brand new or manufactured with high quality materials. i hope it lasts longer than the stock window seal i had for just 6 months. if it does then i know that the window seals manufactured in south africa are from low grade materials which wear and tear very quickly. i do not want my doors unbolted from my car every 6 months just to change faulty window seals!
  5. e-gene you can purchase g.max from ttf (the tyre factory) or donnellans (i think). perhaps you should phone them to be sure. you can also purchase g.max from ensign (cnr ferntree gully and springvale rds) but only 2 styles in their shop will fit your car. they have very very little samples. i like visit shops with many real samples (more choices) for first-hand assessment.
  6. well known and popular melbourne club http://www.melbccr.com/
  7. it is rare to find upsized aftermarket wheels as spare for street cars. for show cars they often match the spare wheel to the others that are on the car because they are show cars. given your location i suggest you go to factory direct in thomastown, 45 wood st. because they have many real samples. http://www.factorydirecttyres.com.au/ i like donnellans at box hill but this is far for you. http://www.donnellans.com.au/ the only problem with shopping on saturdays is that most if not all vendors (for example roh) are closed so delivery lead time and special questions would be answered on monday.
  8. a few days ago i posted $50.00 for e-gene's reference. e-gene still asked for pricing so i believe e-gene is shopping for a cheaper $$$ which is reasonable to do so. i thought i would save you time and effort in consulting your company by remarking my $50.00 post. please remember e-gene started this thread stating "I'm looking to do some cheap "mods" to my car" so i think my $50.00 post stands. if top class quality is desired i have organised a mitsubishi mirage FULL interior airbrushed with hr giger http://www.hrgiger.com/ i will post pictures if anyone is interested in seeing it. but this thread is not for big bucks, cheap is the key word. e-gene please note that cheap does not mean second rate goods for me. $50.00 is first rate.
  9. no interest :( well there is a wednesday evening car cruise (all types of cars) in eastern suburbs next week. please contact me for more info if you are interested in going.
  10. peekay 2 days ago i said $50 so to save time you already got a target to beat have you seen cadence amplifier with galaxy stars cover? i would like to see that as an engine cover!
  11. yes for stivo, but for standard corollas built pre-april 03 205-40-17 is the right size. for stivo i like to see 215-40-17. more tyre touching the road gives more grip and smaller profile looks great. the difference in speedo reading from 205-45-17 is very marginal. fensport uk runx 4wd turbo uses 205-45-17 on road but 215-45-17 on track. i frequently find japan runx with aftermarket wheels have 215-40-17. for usa corolla 03 i find a lot of 225 to 235 mostly on 17" and a lot on 18".
  12. for me driver's window. for the hatch i saw was for front passenger.
  13. how many dealers did you receive a price quotation from? just one dealer? you should contact a few dealers. which part of australia are you from? can i please ask you why you want king springs? has anyone contacted mechanics to find out whether they install more king springs or pedders?
  14. does anyone have problems with their window rubber? i just had one window rubber replaced. when my car was serviced for this fault i saw a hatch in for service with window rubber problems too. my car is not even 1 year old and it is garaged yet the window rubber has detoriated and deformed. i spoke with the customer of the hatch and his key problem was noise. my collection of warranty invoices is growing!
  15. dakota you are reading it right, influx purchased two new headlamps. for your price you could purchase aftermarket runx headlamps. genuine runx hid type headlamps are very $$$.
  16. if you purchase genuine toyota parts you have the choice of having the part factory painted in japan (all you need to do is advise your colour code) or unpainted. if you purchase aftermarket parts this will be painted or unpainted to your instructions. when it is painted it is not toyota japan factory painted. aftermarket is roughly 50% less $$$ to genuine toyota parts whether painted or not painted. i think genuine is abs plastic whereas aftermarket is either pp plastic or fiberglass. there are aftermarket eyelids which curve outwards making the headlamps more narrow. there are also taillids for rearlamps.
  17. gt studio is a company in estonia. click the link below to see their tsport alpine multimedia project http://www.gtstudio.ee/est/projectgallery/corollatsport.htm the tsport is for sale. click the link below to see a list of modifications and big pictures http://www.hot.ee/ger/tsport.htm
  18. >> Is it worth buying shocks and suspension all together at the same time? yes if you have $$$ and your car will only be serviced once. no if you do not have $$$. if if if if your shocks fail then go and purchase aftermarket shocks. your car will be serviced twice. >> I was looking to get some kingsprings but now im a little unsure! I just hope my 17' wont raise my car too much pedders is choice. your car should not be raised but it will be if the tyres you have are large profile. you should have 40 or 45 series. >> if the shocks wear down after 20,000... thats terrible! unfortunately factory shocks often fail prematurely. >> Also, is there a legal aspect to lowering? Can your car be too low? (legally) for victoria happy reading. good to have a copy in your car. ]http://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/vrne/vrninte.nsf/alldocs/7D80B1AB5D67AAFCCA256D7F0017A659?OpenDocument&Area=[Road+safety+hidden+documents]
  19. even if you leave your suspension completely stock your shocks can fail at anytime. i say this because i know that shocks on NEW cars OFTEN leak prematurely. if your shocks are not leaking they can still fail because of your driving style and your wheels/tyres. do you drive rough and fast over speed humps? do you have low profile tyres? do you frequently drive of rough roads with small pot holes? if you answer yes to any then your shocks will work hard thus added wear and tear. if you have $$$ you should lower your car with full coilovers or lowered springs with matching shocks. when you do NOT have big $$$ you just lower your car with lowered springs. shorts cuts have disadvantages but is cheap. stop driving a roller skate (thanks influx). if your car has lowered springs and they last a long time you probably have good shocks and you drive well. if your car has lowered springs and they fail in a few months you probably have bad shocks (premature leaking) OR you drive rough. if you drive well then you would think your shocks were bad all the time from the factory and these would have failed with OR WITHOUT lowered springs.
  20. pedders has 2mm sag whereas king springs has 10mm sag. i have seen street cars returned for raising because of too much sag they received unroadworthy.
  21. thinking about it more (all current models) front reminds me of civic, side golf, tail mini (you cannot see in this picture).
  22. i now believe that corolla is uk spec 03 but i always thought current corolla in uk was coupe
  23. is this the corolla 04? this car has the trd sports m body kit but not the style i have seen for corolla 03 so i guess this is corolla 04 with trd sports m body kit 04.
  24. i think sportivo wheels are more touring.
