it is easy to see that manufacturers build different cars for different buyers. people have different likes and dislikes therefore there are different models, grades and options. not many people have $$$ to purchase top end luxury sports cars. the corolla sportivo does not have a celica engine. the sportivo has a 2ZZ engine! old celicas had standard engines so they only looked sporty. there is nothing special with celica engines. the only thing to do to reduce the wheel gap is to lower the car.

:o for 21 x 8 inch wheels you would use tyres 225-30-21 your speedo would be very wrong 8.7% too slow. with these new wheels the diameter against stock is increased by 53 mm. the wheel gap will still be huge. who has the answer as to why current corollas have monster wheel gaps?

you already have the largest size (width) tyre which is 175. on a 6" wheel you should not go more than 177.8 if you need 195 you need to start using at least 6" width wheel.

imek please check with whiteline technical staff to be sure they have manufactured the part you want. t-sport could be different to sportivo. once you have the answer from whiteline head office you can then purchase through your local distributor Powerstation Performance Centre or Demon Tweeks Direct in uk.

in a picture the holotype-r looks good and dealers say it is a copy of euro khan wheels. i used to like it but when i saw a real sample i thought the finish was cheaply coated. perhaps i saw a wheel from a bad batch. nevertheless the embossed "holotype r" put me off. does any one stick to the correct tyre index/rating for current corollas when they start using 17" wheels?

danthuyer try to haggle for less because the distributor's special begins at $190.00 per wheel for holotype-r in the size you want. have you tried goodyear f1s before? people have told me they are road noisy. these people typically use falkens.

i find the finish on speedy holotype-r poor and i dislike the embossed name. there are several 5 spoke wheels that you can purchase (from other brands) but if you are happy with holotype-r go for them. holotype-r are on special. this is from the distributor so the dealer should pass on the saving to you. i believe holotype-r are from malaysia.

i had a good time. d1 for drifting and d1 for dancing! what were the mr2s doing on the track with the d1 race? they were poor.

toyota will only see my car when warranty service is needed and the labour and parts must be free of charge. any licensed automotive mechanic can stamp your service log book. comprehensive log book history gives second hand buyers peace of mind and could be stronger if all history is from toyota.

car service should be performed by a licensed mechanic who can stamp your service log book and warranty their work. when you sell your car can you show evidence of its service history? you might be very good at small servicing but second hand car buyers want evidence. i guess you have missed the television commercials from ultratune. if you think repco is a better filter for your engine please use it otherwise please use genuine toyota parts. i find no saving in price between these brands but using genuine toyota parts will save your warranty. what is more important to you, saving $$$ now or saving your warranty for 3-5 years? so many people worry about their warranty buy like to DIY and carry out performance modifications to their cars. you could send your warranty certificate back to toyota head office as you do not need it anymore! i thought corollas are known to have very robust engines and very rarely breakdown (stock or with modifications). if this is true then you should not worry about your engine faulting. if you lose your warranty and your engine needs repair all this means is that you fix it with your own $$$. the price to pay for taking short cuts in the past or playing with your car with modifications. people are willing to spend big $$$ with performance parts from japan or aftermarket wheels but penurious on service and repairing faults.

i have posted a couple of times about lane toyota (all their dealerships). they are unreliable and poorly trained. i know i might have caught them on very bad days but i have gone from front line sales to senior management and i cannot say anything positive about them. i believe i am fair and reasonable because my needs have been easily met with lane's competitors. i understand lane has advertised very attractive prices but if you live in victoria you have the advantage of going to australia's LARGEST dealership which is brighton toyota. i am sure it is clear to see buying power and scale of economy in all toyota cars and genuine parts. please do not rush into purchasing a new car. when we were serious to make a sale the dealer was firm and would not give us much when we haggled. surprisingly when we were fooling around going on test drives and faking a sale we got $10k off. we could not refuse and purchased this car.

wheels of the same grade cost the same. the cheapest are from china or malaysia. expensive wheels are from europe like italy and otherwise from japan. the big difference in cost in a wheel/tyre package are the tyres you purchase. dealer buying prices for wheels from china or malaysia are under $70 per piece. most wheels are manufactured from these factories and distributed worldwide under different brands.

i dislike seeing cars with dummy bmw gps shark fins particularly when it is unpainted (not colour coded) and mounted on boots.
