  1. Hey all, Just a thought at this stage, but has anyone heard of anyone doing a projector lens upgrade for the aurion? specifically something better suited for HID lights? Looking at some online HID forums (HID planet), the Honda s2000 projector lens seem to give a pretty powerful and defined cut off.. I do a fair bit of night driving and i'll be the first to admit im pretty finiky about my light set up, currently running 6000k HID in the low beams... thanks for any input! :)
  2. the rear parcel definately needs to be sound deadned... when i had my speakers changed out, i had the rear shelf dynamated, both on the plastic shelf and the metal. then we siliconed the shelf to stop any rattles... so far so good, i can crank my system running off a alpine amp as loud as i can audiabily stand and theres still no rattle.
  3. spotted DRE's aurion parked near Harry's bar last night, looking good mate! slammed!
  4. hey all. does anyone know if the camry boot lid is the same as the aurion? want to get a spoiler like the ones found on the camry sportivo. (the small duck tail one) any help is appreciated. =) dave
  5. on a bit of a side note, wildfire, do you have any pictures of your car lowered with the stnd atx wheels?

Current changes: Exterior - Sportivo front grill, colour coded - Colour coded mud flaps - Phillips HID H11 kit, 6000k - SMD LED bulbs in parking lights, numberplate lights, interior lights, boot light - Fog lights (to be fitted) with Phillips Diamond vision h11 globes Audio - Clarion MAX386VD in dash dvd player - MB Quart reference 6x9 component splits - Eclipse 6x9 in rear shelf - Dynamat front doors, rear doors, double dynamat and silicone (to stop the rattle) on rear shelf, Alpine v power MRP F300 4 channel amp. to be installed - Rockford fosgate P3L-S12 subwoofer Alpine MRP M500 mono block Rockford 140Amp Circuit Breaker Rockford Distribution Block Rockford RCA Leads 4 & 8 Gauge Power Cable dynamat boot
  7. When we purchased our Aurion, the dealer said they would include free paint protection, this IMHO was a massive mistake, as they left buffer swirls all over the bonnet and boot lid. Plus when we received the car it was obvious the panels needed a lot more work than what the paint protection "hype" stated. (the car was in dire need of claying from brand new) I was pretty disheartened by the treatment from our toyota dealer (scarboro toyota WA) throughout the whole process... Salesmen did not return our calls when he said he would call back in 1 hour, car missed its delivery date by 2 days, wheels had to be replaced under warrenty (which took three (3) weeks for them to sort out...) in the end i gave up and bought a DA polisher and fixed up the dealers work myself... (and am now a self confessed car detailing nut) :P as was mentioned in the earlier posts, just keep moving up the chain of command and dont stop pestering them. good luck
  8. in terms of sizing, does anyone know if these will fit into the aurion parker housing?? i put LED ingto the parker similar to this and they just dont seem bright enough..
  9. yeah thats what i was thinking, was just wanting to know what was causing it... my guess is perhaps something to do with the amount of current being drawn upon start up? either that or something funky going on inside the ballast... btw, i noticed your a perthie! *yay* nice looking corolla.. mine seved me very well
  10. Hey all, As the title states, when i fire up my HIDs, the passenger bulb seems to flicker ever so slightly.. it only happens during the "warm up" period and once the light levels off it stops and works as per normal.. just wondering if anyone elses lights do this? is this a cause for concern? cheers
  11. hey guys, i know not everyone browses through the aurion forum, so just posting a link here for you audio experts... basically need some serious advice on my audio set up for my Aurion, im stuck between two choices... my main goal is in sound quality rather than rattling my windows with mega doof doof... any help and/or advice is greatly appretiated! B)
  12. while we're on the G220, has anyone here tried using the G220 with non meguiar pads?? ive currently got 2 w8006 and 2 w9000 pads but have seen these "waffle" design pads for sale at the local repco stores... thoughts? im happy as larry with my meguiar pads but was wanting to know if people have had better results with differernt brands??
  13. Age: 25 Sex: Male Reason for buying: Wanted a larger car than my Corolla, Aurion got good reviews, nice safety features. Having owned a toyota before, was impressed by their reliability... :P Would of liked a darker colour (have a white at-x) since im a self admitted OCB with car cleaning/detailing, but im impressed with the white after hitting it with my meguiars G220! :) current upgrades: Phillips HID 6000k kit, LED bulb swap interior/boot/number plate, Clarion 386MAX DVD touchscreen headunit, Sportivo grill swap from Standard ATX grill, colour coded mud flaps... upgrades to come: Alpine R-Type 6.5 component splits in the front doors, Alpine r type 6x9 in rear shelf, Alpine V Max 4channel amp, Dynamat all doors, and double dynamat on rear shelf, Fog Lights, Eyelids wish list: Alloy wheels, ultra racing strut brace, undecided about lowering at this moment. :P
  14. Just a question, if you have OEM fog lights on your car, is it legal to drive with them on? or is it still "in extreme weather only" I'm in WA as well if that affects the law...
  15. sorry for the hijack here, but would ppl on here recommend lowering/replacing the stock springs before considering strut bars and swaybars? are there any disadvantages of lowering the car while still running the stock steel (atx stnd) wheels? (will upgrade wheels in the future) thanks and sorry for the hijack :P carry on...
  16. Canon 400D with Sigma 24-70mm F2.8 IF EX DG HSM Lens. What about you? nice set up! im shooting with a gripped 40D, canon 24-70 f2.8L USM as my main lens. have a 200mm f2.8L and a Sigma 10-20 as well..
  17. brilliant!! thanks for those images, has given me new hope for my initial plans.. will be looking at installing a 4inch widescreen gps unit in that spot... just going to test it with my mates gps unit (to make sure i can get a reliable signal from there) next week... thanks again
  18. Not sure where we're meeting, last two times was at Curtin carpark. and drove from there. Feel free to come! At least there's another photographer, so if i forget my SLR this time, Cypher (Andy) can't say anything about photos. LOL. Also if i'm driving i can't shoot my own car. excellent! well ill keep an eye on this thread for updates :) what camera you shooting with? thanks and hope to meet you all soon!
  19. hey guys, where abouts will this next meet be happening? i drive a aurion, not many mods, just HID lights, and sound system.. but im a photographer so would be keen to get some good shots of the cars/driving..
  20. Im in for eyelids and possibly a grill!! Im in WA as well if anyone wants to combine?
  21. looks the goods mate! :) im liking the colour coding more than the black previously! well done :)
  22. hey mate, thanks for the explanation, it makes perfect sense :) but feel free to post pics if you got 'em :) I just spoke to Rob from Volatile Customs and he said that his fitted the SP6910's into Aurions before without a problem.. So looks like if it works I'll still get the point source 6x9's in the rear shelf! Will try and get some pics on how he manages to get them to fit when the car goes in.. if not then im not fussed about running the 6x9 components in the rear too, perhaps running the tweeter up high in the rear pillar? hrmmm after i get the sound sorted out, looks like ill be looking at wheels... anyone have any suggestions on what would look good on a White AT-X? think i'd wanna stay at around 19inch? or 18? i had a look at the standard toyota KAPA wheels and they look pretty nice... any other suggestions without blowing the bank? :P
  23. Thanks Lee, and I have sent you a PM regarding a certain 4 channel amp..... Hey mate, I sent you a PM, but if you want more info check out http://www.volatilecustoms.com/ Hey, thanks for the heads up! just wondering where you mounted the tweeter in the rear shelf? thanks again for your input :)
  24. Let us know how the speakers go, you going to do all 6? I'm eager to get an amplifier put in but that will have to wait a bit unfortunately. Very keen to hear your results though! Also the HID installation, how much did you pay for that? I wanted to install HIDs on my car though unfortunately, I don't want any insurance repercussions in case i get in an accident because of the illegal nature of retrofits. Yeah the set up I will be running will be: front: eclipse SC6900 6" x 9" 2 WAY DRIVER WITH 1" SILK TWEETER & Dynamat through the front door panel rear: SP6910 6 x 9" 2- WAY POINT SOURCE SPEAKER & double dynamating on both the plastic and metal part of the rear shelf to minimize vibration buzz still tossing up on if i want to go with a amp, will mean a extra few hundred bucks... The HID kit was acctually a phillips 6000k HID kit.. supplied and fitted by Rob at Volatile Customs here in Perth. Rob is a top guy and the quality of his installations are awsome! Ive attached a few pics, its hard to get a clear shot of where he mounted the balasts, as his also covered them in some sort of padding? (perhaps heat shield?? ). I ended up going for thr 6000k as well as changing my parker lights, was originally wanting to go with the 5000k but im glad i went 6000, looks sweeet!!
