  1. i was heavily considering that sigma lens before i bit the bullet and got the canon 24-70, was very impressed with the sigma when i was playing around with it in the shop. :)
  2. some nice kit there mate, im shooting with a gripped 40D, 24-70L f2.8, 200L f2.8, Sigma EX10-20, 50mm 1.8 mkII, 430exII, slik tripod. looking at picking up a 7D in the ndar future as well as come cactus v4 remote triggers...
  3. sorry i didnt see this post until now, in answer to your question Tash - i would definately try the plastx, in terms of making it last, what i do is work the plastx into the headlights, and then seal it with 2 layers of meguiars m21 synthetic sealant (meguiars nxt techwax 2.0 will do the same job) this will protect the plastic from the elements. you do run the risk of introducing micro swirls into the plastic (that is if there arnt any in there already), that is what the Plastx and mothers plastic polish are designed to combat. good luck and remeber, if you do go for the plastx option (which i highly recommend) make sure to work the product in long enough to allow the dimishing abrasives to work into a polishing action :)
  4. just on that note, would dynamatting the floors cut out the tyre noise? ive currently got my doors rear shelf and boot lid done with dynamat but have always wondered what effect dynamat on the floors and wheel arch would have....
  5. try meguiars PLASTX for youe bonnet and headlight protectors B) works wonders for me
  6. Yes I am. And try twice a week. And my engine bay would be cleaner than yours... I've seen photos of your engine bay :P Nah, my car isn't as clean as some others on this board, but I reckon it's pretty clean. Enough that I will challenge you. Just don't forget the really fine details: LOL their all clean! :P but at the end of the day, its is all in the eye of the beholder as to whoe car is cleanest :) but! this is my weekly schedule :P wash saturday arvo finish off with meguiars ultimate quick detailer, dress wheels, meguiars quik interior detailer inside wash tuesday finish off with meguiars ultimate quick detailer, dress wheels, meguiars quik interior detailer inside wash thursday (day off from work), inspect surface, if needed clay and swirlX using the DA, if not just 2 layers of chosen wax, and clean interior with gold class trim and dash cleaner, quik interior cleaner, and vacum. yes, i have problems :P and what makes it worse is... my car is white! :(
  7. Here are a few of mine, will be getting some more (and hopefully better) shots soon... but for now...... :)
  8. mate thats looking pretty good there, one thing i can suggest, bump your iso down to 100, set an exposure time of approx 20-30seconds, and then use the light source your painting with to highlight the car, make sure to catch the darker areas, such as the shadows from the other side of the car etc. move the light slowly and at a steady pace asround the areas your want to highlight have fun :)
  9. hey guys sorry for the delays, ive been trying to perfect my techniques before i drag you all out, dont want you to waste your time :P will try and get my stuff ready for a mini meet maybe in the next fortnight? think east perth is a good location so far..
  10. if you could post a "how to" guide for the power window block that would be awsome!
  11. O....M....GAWD!!!! Please wait a few seconds for Video to Load!
  12. wow.. where do i start?? ok the ONE HATE i have, and some perth drivers may feel the same way, heres the situation:' freeway entry at Powis street, heading south towards the city. The lane on the far right is for people who want to enter the freeway, the two lanes to the left are for people who want to go straight. every morning, busy peak period, there is a line banked up in the right hand lane, all doing the right thing, blinkers on, waiting at the lights. some dumb idiot(s) decide to pull up in the left hand lane, and decide to floor it in order to push into the right hand lane to enter the freeway ahead of the people who are in the correct lane... this really ****s me, and i make it a point to not let the people in if there up next to me, as well as a good ol hand gesture. this happens everyday on my way to work and ****s me to no end. end rant]
  13. well done mate :) looks awsome!!
  14. so im sitting here, clicking refresh every 30seconds! :P cant wait to see it daryl, is this kit available locally? or did you buy from overseas for the cost savings?
  15. ok so been out the last couple of nights, and here are soe of my efforts, still a bit of tweaking needed before i shoot other ppls pride and joy's but lemme know what you guys think, anything you would like to see done differently or any ideas! :) thanks!! http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/inde...st&p=370869
  16. Ok, so over the past couple of nights, I've been experimenting with some new (to me) camera techniques, coming from a portrait/wedding/sports photog background, this was a totally new field for me, so any constructive crit is very very welcome :) started off ont he first night with the idea of using my 430exII flash, that in my opinion turned out to be a epic failure. so, unhappy with the previous nights efforts, i headed out again last night, this time with my mountain biking light (niterider minewtx2) in hand and was suprised at how much better the photos came out! so... here are my shots from last night, bear in mind this is the 2nd attempt, it has given me new ideas on some tweaks on technique are in order, hope you all like them, and please leave your input on what can be done better/what is good etc etc thanks!! and just a token shot of the LED bulbs i fitted in the fog lights... not very bright in terms of projecting light, but looks great! will be staying in for summer and will change them out for something more practical when winter sets in.
  17. depending how bad it is (pictures would help)... and are you working by hand, DA, or rotary buffer? maybe try something like meguiars ultimate compound?
  18. wow, so many ppl keen for a photo shoot! :P ok well ill do some investiagting this week for good lcoations and then hopefully get some test shots for some techniques i wanna try. will post up results here and then maybe see who would be interested :) thanks ya'll!
  19. I may have spoken too much. I'll better not speak of the technique just in case. no probs mate! my uneducated geuss (without giving the technique away) would be "painting" the car with light? :P
  20. He was shooting RAW. I think the first step needed is to get a different LED light. I did notice that the one Michael was using had quite a bit of blue in it which got more pronounced as the battery was discharging. Unfortunately this is just the type of LED's that were in the light. Too much blue, not enough phosphor. I think he was still experimenting with his camera so it yet to get all the white balance settings in order. I'll say it again though, I love the effect. It gives it that 'late at night' look. LED's? were you guys placing them under the car with long exposures? yeah the effect certainly gives off a "late night" effect, and if thats what he was going for, then awsome job :) thats got me thinking now acctually.... remote flashes, under the car... mmmmmmmmmmmm
  21. perhaps try adjusting your white balance? does your camera have the ability to shoot RAW? that will give you better control after the shoot to adjust the photos properties without stuffing up the image quality...
  22. thanks lee, sound awsome right now! and im super happy with the soundquality : loudness ratio! blows my mind! and even my gf likes it! said it plays loud yet clear! woooo! looking at an option audio rear view mirror upgrade now, with built in gps/reverse cam :)
  23. thanks for all the responses guys! im normally used to shooting weddings and mountain biking, as well as portraits, so im still learning the craft of automobiles :P im keen to meet up with a small bunch sometime during the evenings maybe to test out some shots?
