  1. Look, I'd try and ask an owner to take photos of their car first, but legally, he did nothing wrong. Still, it's friggin rude. Just like the paparazzi and celebs.
  2. crikey! I can't get into the 7's at all... What mods do you have again?
  3. Take off the plastic engine cover and there is a sticker on the engine saying "use only Iridium plugs"...
  4. It plugs into the cigarette lighter for power and is completely self contained. It mounts on the front windscreen with a suction cup. It is basically an accelerometer (measures acceleration in "G"), with an electronic timer. From acceleration and time it determines speed - quite accurately too. Newer models are self-levelling, this one needs to be "zeroed" before use with the car on a completely level road.
  5. ewwww, looks like the current Pulsar from the front
  6. See my G-Tech results while stopping with and without ABS here: http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/index.php?s...pic=390&hl=tech Also, if the ABS is annoying you so much, why not pull it's fuse? I'm not sure this disables the EBD though - anyone know for sure?
  7. There are TRD LSD's available...
  8. I thought ABS kicked in when the sensors at each corner detected wheel lockup. The computer then pulses the pressure to release the wheel, allowing you to steer during emergency braking. But regardless, if this was a problem it would affect every car, not just Stivos. WRX's for example have a multitude of brake packages available, and you never hear of problems with their ABS.
  9. Sure you can intercool a supercharger same way as for a turbo. Boost increases are achieved by using different sized compression pulleys (or decreases with a BOV).
  10. Yep, hot wire type. It needs to sit right in the centre of the intake and, as I posted elsewhere (http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/index.php?showtopic=450), needs non-turbulent air flow.
  11. Not aware of any ticking noises, sorry. But my rattles were fixed a month ago by my dealer - still hasn't come back. I have been talking to Xoom about this as he has the problem too. Toyota's invoice said they removed and replaced vent brackets, but the service guy also told me they checked/adjusted gear slection cables. I am sure also that tis is where my problems were. So it's almost as if Toyota are aware of the problem, and are willing to fix it, but won't report it on the official documentation? Maybe because then they'd be faced with a recall. My advice if you're dealing with Toyota is make sure you get a copy of the service documentation, and ask them to record the gear cable rattle if it's not on there....
  12. My questions were for Imek. I'm with you though, I think you should make gains, although probably not as much as with a TRD CAI or any other that has had serious research and development time.
  13. Just interested in (1) who did the 7.1 and how was it timed, and (2) what objective evidence is there that a less restrictive intake track (DIY or not), would make you "loose" hp and torque?
  14. Do you mean an insert, in place of your current paper filter? I don't think it would be wise to install a pod on the existing rubber intake tubing, in place of the airbox, but I could be wrong. Not sure if anyone here has done this...
  15. I'd love to take pics, but someone (i.e. me) lost work's digi camera memory stick... Anyway, my front calipers and rotor hubs are now bright red! What a tough job though. I took the whole brake system apart and painted everything off the car, apart from the Piston section (didn't want to have to plug lines and bleed the brakes). One can did about 4-5 coats of each part, and a thrash up the famous Gorge Rd last night appeared to cure the paint pretty well!
  16. So you could theoretically rip one off a wrecked Kompressor? Surely someone, somewhere has tried supercharging - maybe on a Celica?
  17. I'm all for having our own stickers, but has anyone thought we may need Toyota's and/or TOC's permission to use their logos or name? Corporate Toyota may well have fits at seeing their logo changed, especially as it is their registered trademark, and I for one wouldn't want their lawyers knocking on my door......
  18. It's been over two weeks and Nikich has been suspiciously quiet. How's the car ?
  19. What happened to the claims for chipping that it improves fuel economy? Anyway, did you get your rattle fixed Xoom?
  20. I've bought the VHT Brake Caliper and Rotor paint in Racing Red. I don't know if they make a chrome high temp paint, do they? Anyway, I went for red to contrast my silver duco. I think chrome would suit a black or blue Stivo better.
  21. Orrock, no you didn't offend by pointing out the earlier thread, but you'll notice I only joined in March at Zeerolla's invitation. Peekay, I don't wish to offend but that's twice I've noticed now you jumping down people's throats. I don't pretend that moderation is an easy task, but bearing in mind that the written word is expressionless, and you can't convey tone, how about some moderation in what you write? Anyway, bring back the love, this forum rocks!
  22. I know this is going to vary drastically according to people's driving style, car mileage and other factors, but in general, how far can you travel on a tank of petrol? My car is just over 3000kms old, and I get around 550km to a tank with only the occasional quick venture into lift. I feel like I should be getting better mileage.....
  23. nice. How much were the King Springs? Is 35mm drop legal (in your State?).
  24. I've been wanting to do this for ages. Good work - you've convinced me to get off my **** and do it!
  25. Great idea. I also want to monitor new signups once we have a standardised design on our cars - surely there are many more internet-using Toyota drivers out there?
