  1. Thats a fair price. Timing belt + CV boot replacement are labour intensive. Tyres aren't @ gasket prices and neither are wheel alignments. In fact, given the amount of work + parts + labour; that's a pretty delicious price.
  2. Poly steering rack bushes will increase the response of your steering dramatically. If you want to race the car or put it on the floor, coilovers are a good choice. But just for spirited driving and occasional track use a lowered (or superlow) spring and good shock will do. I have some not very old low springs and KYB excel-G shocks here I can let go very cheap if you are intersted. PM me for details if you are.
  3. My brothers VE Series 1 Senator: 13.633s @ 103.32mph
  4. If you are looking for power, don't bother. However, if you want engine intake noise a CAI/SRI isn't a bad idea. If you want performance: - Install a bigger rear sway bar - Install a front strut brace - Install some poly-steering rack bushes. The combination of those three will give you better handling around corner with tighter and more responsive steering.
  5. Getting a little nervous... When staging, I only have to get the first light on the christmas tree to go on, right? Or is it compulsory to deep-stage and have the 2nd light go on as well?
  6. Just spoke to Craig then, $10-$15 for aluminium rings. $55 to redrill the rotors (per rotor). Nice bloke too, thanks for your help :)
  7. Hrmm... that is quite unfortunate... for you
  8. Got a 2nd hand helmet from a friend today, he's had it sitting in his garage for a few years. It's a Shoei and meets the requirements so huzzah! Picked up the HSV tonight so I'm ready to rock and roll. Nervous as all hell though. Oh well, if I make any errors people are going to be like 'Ha! That TDN80 can't drive for shiza!'
  9. Thanks Daryl. Have messaged them, fingers crossed.
  10. Have been given permission to take the Senator down the strip. Anyone know of a place that sells cheap helmets?
  11. Surprise, surprise you and The Viking are right! Hub hole on the TRD is 62mm. Very odd that PN is reading out 60.1mm
  12. That's a good point. I was so worried about precision I was all hung up on not being able to find my calipers. It may slow things down (especially if they won't drill the rotor) but ill bring them one of each of the rotors and tell them what I need done. Fingers crossed they have some 71-6X hub rings on the shelf
  13. It's for the TRD Aurion brake upgrade. I was certain the Camry hub was 62mm and now I am not so sure but; I definitely know I need a ring to ensure the rotor sits correctly on the hub!
  14. How much did it cost for the custom rings? Also, I would assume that these would be suitable if you were to say... mount a rotor with a 71mm centre hole/bore to mount to a Camry hub? The only thing though, I thought the Camry/Aurion hubs were 62mm, not 60.1?
  15. Unless you're reading with a proper OBD reader, you'll only read that there is a code. I'd probably bring it into a non-toyota workshop to have a look at it.
  16. Today's Nebo run has made me realise just how unnecessary the TRD brake upgrade is going to be. Oh well, when in Rome

It hasn't made you realise anything. When you put the TRD kit on, you will realise just how incorrect your statement here was.

Sounds like a challenge! I'll drop the rotors off at BHSS and pray that they don't charge a large, small fortune.

  17. Anthony, hook a brother up with some suitcases of meds instead. There seems to be some confusion as I want opinions on the grille, not the front bar. I will be getting it done colour coded. Daryl's idea is a good one.
  18. Small update: - TRD calipers + rotors were test fitted (thanks to Daryl) and they are confirmed to fit - Custom brake lines are being made up and will be ready by Monday - Rotors are still due and still need to be drilled - Replaced the blue silicone hose in the engine bay with black hose. They are right; once you go black you'll never go back. - Engine bay is dirty again and needs a clean.
  19. Good o! Just handed over my requirements + a caliper for the TRD upgrade today. Should be ready on Monday, $90 for the 2 lines.
  20. Washed and waxed it. Plus discovered that the construction next door and down the street must be leaving white particles on my car; time for a clay. Having Mr. DJKOR come out tonight and help a noob with his brakes. Going to test the lengths of the lines (that I am going to have made up) and fit the calipers to ensure that they fit.
  21. Don't blame BHSS. Blame all you Westerners who believe in fair pay. *runs off to an Asian country for labour cost reductions*
