  1. I can't imagine the air would be any hotter than the standard box which just sucks in random air. Things is the snorkel is tucked away in the front right of the engine bay away from the exhaust/head. The pod is smack bang in the middle of the engine bay. Try putting your hands in and around the engine bay when the engine is warm, you can feel different temps. Disagree! I was faster around Wakefield  young got pwned
  2. This ones for you Dutchie101... CHECK OUT THESE GANGSTA WELDS! and thats the better side... look at this now come on... upgrading from this to what i have now has GOT TO GIVE ME SOME GAINS!
  3. yeah this is what i intially thought as well. some flaw in the design maybe? or its just me being a prick thinking it should have gained more?
  4. do it man... lol :P exhaust screams but when i wanna be civilised, i shut it up :) and yes my car does get dirty hehe
  5. fawkner brake and clutch. not far from preston. they honest and do fair prices :)
  6. BTW to Jeffy, you gotta help me paint my friggen car, it looks like sperm... sperm is good. that means ur car is fertile ;)
  7. I gonna be looking forward to this! :D
  8. jump start the car and my bad, when i looked at the pic again i see its pointing to the rubber OUTSIDE not the rubber thats attached to the gear box. so yea its alright to spray lub there, but in the other rubber bit thats where the clutch and flywheel meet, dont spray it in there lol.
  9. feels alot more pull in 3rd gear lift... :)

Between 7-8krpm you should be deadly

  10. raise it! :P yeah from what john could see, it doesn't seem like the welds seeped between the gap between the pipes joined. I was kinda worried that filled too much and it seeped into the gaps blocking some air flow inside . should be alright though :) I'm more relieved now anyways
  11. I reset the ecu. so it will relearn it anyways. but yeah maybe it needs time still...
  12. yeah it has. just a small one. nothing special. I might get a magnaflow to replace it in the future. ;)
  13. Yeah thanks man. I was quite concerned. But john being knowledgeable in welding passed it as an ok weld guess pictures don't do much justice eh hehe ;) When I get home tonight ill post one weld off my stock pipe... its pretty disgusting.. haha Any other opinions guys???
  14. here are some other pictures of how my muffler sits now. i wanted it out abit but the guy said it looked crap so he did it flush to the rear skirt. actually it better like that. prevents people from stepping on the pipe ;)
  15. Got my exhaust done at Radiant Exhausts in Laverton North yesterday... 2.5 inch, mandrel bent, stainless steel. some pictures :) From cat-back second bend third bend fouth and final bends flange to the exhaust this system was 250 bucks. as ou can see the welds are good and neatly done. i reckon there could have been improvements but i think for the price i paid, this was an excellent job. one of the pipes weren't perfectly alligned but we both concluded this wouldn't hinder flow as much. i even asked johnnieboi to come around to look at the piping and welding and he said that it was good. so i'm convinced that they didn't screw me over. now for the drive: for me i definately felt the revs kick in more smooth in the range. as i drove it more the more i thought that the flow is better than the stock. my intial thoughts as i looked under are that the pipes joints didn't look straight so this would hinder the flow abit. but as i noticed lift didn't kick in as violent as the stock piping. but more of a smooth transition. which is probably why i didn't really feel a gain at the top end because of the "smoothness" of it all. another person who usually sits in my car said there is definately an improvement throughout the rev range... maybe i havent had that much sleep to notice hehe... and here is another thing that i found very suprising... stock pipe... 52mm in diameter, which means 2.047'' wide... yes it was never 2.25 inch inside diameter. u learn something new everyday dont u...
  16. mate its all up to you what u want, be informed about your decision. as far as i'm concerned, if BOTH driven properly, the stivo with light mods can AT LEAST keep up with the STOCK WRX. 99 WRX probably would have been thrashed off its titties. my opinion is to stick with the stivo. it will look after you if u look after it.
  17. u may find this useful as well to removing your fuel gauge...
  18. mate... EVERYONE is welcome
  19. hold on do you mean point A or B in the photo? i havent got my car here atm to quickly look but that looks like where the clutch is... no i sprayed it INSIDE the car where u step on the pedals. the links there maybe arent lubricated enough. it also happens in colder weather. its nothing to worry about. what u should worry about is that the clutch maybe now slipping because u have sprayed it in point A inthe pic... what is the link for that picture? the whole thread
  20. and umm... u pulled the rubber out and sprayed oil inside? i hope u didnt because now u are going to get a slipping clutch due to oil on the face of the clutch and flywheel... A BIG NO NO! as with the squeaking i get that from the clutch assy INSIDE the car so i spray abit of WD40 on the springs and joints and that works out OK
  21. is it cranking? any sounds when u turn the key? clutch shouldn't cause a car to not start unless ur stuck in gear and cant get out of it.
  22. car is in... hope this gonna be good :)
