  1. Your assumptions are incorrect. The TRD Quick Shifter comes with its own cradle, 4x metal base bushings, shift pattern stickers and TRD ball gear knob. The reason for me returning the item was due to the holes in the metal base bushings being too big for the stocks screws. My main concern was that, if metal base bushings are provided by TRD, why wouldn't they also supply custom TRD screws that would have a thicker diameter on the top half of the screw to be a snug fit for the metal bushings hole and the bottom of the screw to be the same size as the stock screws which would screw into the holes in the vehicle's body frame. Or why not just provide metal base bushings that have the correct hole size to fit the stock screws instead. So I would like to reiterate that the problem was having a screw too thin or the metal base bushings simply being drilled to large. I'm quite fussy what goes into my car, as I do not intend to resell this car in future. Therefore, it might be ok for someone else, but it's not ok with me. I am returning the item back to Jeff due to this very reason as we have discussed. I told him just to minus the premium postage costs from the original amount I had paid him, so I am the one who is incurring all expenses -$35 plus return postage I have paid $18. The TRD cradle was not installed in the car, but was in the process of being installed up to the point where I popped one of the stock screws in the metal bushings on the TRD cradle. My car was not test driven with the TRD cradle installed at all, so it is still new, in the same condition I had received it from Jeff. In addition, once the stock cradle is uninstalled, there is no need to fiddle with its bushings or any of its parts, as the entire unit gets replaced by the TRD one. As for the installation manual, it comes with both a Japanese version and also an English version. It's not that difficult after all having followed the workshop tute as well.
  2. i disagree ....... & yes i do understand that u r entitled to ur opinion but it does need to be based on facts ...... simply put if u have crappy handling bcuz u have increased the power of ur car its bcuz u havent thought about the right handling solution for the setup ...... ive seen plenty of awd & rwd cars that couldnt hand for s**t bcuz they were powered up dramatically and no thought was put into the fact that the cars might need to take a corner ...... u just have to find the setup that works with ur power output ...... ive seen many high powered fwd's that are able to handle quiet well ........ im waiting till the day when Ferrari, Porsche, Lamborghini, even Nissan release a front wheel super car... :) PS I think you have a rolla thats turboed? How has your engine coped with the extra power etc? Highly unlikely, those manufacturers only have one thing in mind... Power>Handling (with exceptions to Porsches) Funny, I thought that FF cars had better handling over FR (Caeteris paribus). **FF = better handling/cornering vs FR = greater power/top speed** It's not about the size of ur ding dong that counts, its how you use it... It is even more true for cars. You could have all the horse power in the world, but if u don't consider the handling aspect, then it is all for nothing.... I would assume that Xoom's stivo would be a powerhouse on corners ~ torque steer ftw!
  3. Guni, are you using Amsoil RD30? What is your opinion of it and its performance comparison to RP oil. If price wasn't a factor, which would you prefer?
  4. I recently found a local supplier in Melbourne, as I was currently looking to buy Royal Purple (RP) engine oil for my Corolla Sportivo. Story was, I was getting quoted $120 per quart for RP high performance engine oil by Burson's and Autobarn, which I thought was outrageous, since prices in the USA are only $7.95 for the normal RP engine oil and $14.95 for the RP XPR range. The price I paid was $26 per quart for the RP XPR engine oil. The normal ones are $14 per quart. I had picked up the 5 bottles yesterday evening from the supplier's address. Good knowledgeable bloke and I really appreciated the service flexibility when it came to organising purchases in such short notice. So those of you who can afford to spend that bit extra, the details of the private supplier are as follows: Contact Info Name: Harold Mobile: 0414 369 926 Email: sales@performanceLUB.com Website: http://www.performancelub.com History/background Australia's cheapest, honest & reliable online private supplier at significantly below retail price. 7. FYI: Hope this clears up any doubts. Also, the 600g desert eagle shift knob has the engraved shift patterns in production now, with website being updated soon. Hi, Thank you for your email. For your car, you will need the 2003-2008 Corolla short shifter. The Matrix short shifter is completely different. As for the weighted shift knobs, I will start my answer by stating that we have been selling weighted shift knobs for over 7 years without a single transmission issue directly related to the installation of the shift knob. We have had weighted shift knobs installed in FWD, RWD, AWD cars, cable activated transmissions and rod activated transmissions without issue. Specially in a car like a Corolla where the shifter is very isolated from the transmission by the plastic shifter base, the shifter cables and the shifter bushings, there is no risk that a weighted shift knob like the Desert Eagle would put any unwanted stress on the transmission. The statement you quote would be for a RWD car where the shifter is connected directly in the transmission, without any sort of dampening between the shifter and the transmission. Then again, we have had weighted shift knobs installed in cars like that without a single issue. - quoted Jadered's post to my email to TWM. I hope this answers your concerns about weighted shift knobs, please let me know if you have any other question. The Desert Eagle shift knob is now available with engraved shift patterns (including the 6 speed Corolla pattern) in stainless, satin and mirror finishes. We just need to have our webmaster adding this option on the short shifter pages so you can buy a complete package with an engraved Desert Eagle shift knob. Thanks, Frank TMW Performance * Dyslexik - Still contemplating whether to get the 600 gram desert eagle gear knob or the 130g aluminium desert eagle gear knob to minimise the risk of accidentally switching to reverse, as other members have previously stated. Does the problem still exist with the solid metal gear bushings or just prevalent in the factory rubber bushings? Weighted or light u reckon?
  8. Just read up on the discussion from jaderd's post: "A recent popular fix for short shifter notchiness is the use of an excessively heavy, metallic shift knob. At only 3 oz. (approximately 100 grams), the factory shift knob is relatively light, in comparison with the available aftermarket knobs. We have analyzed the additional mass of the Rogue Engineering shift knobs (approximately 6 oz.) and have found that they're additional mass was not enough to close the 0.004"-0.006" gap. However, as we began adding more weight to the shift knob area, we did find that when the mass increased to 8 oz., the gap began to close. Using anything heavier than this would be the equivalent of driving with your hand resting on the shift knob. When considering an aftermarket shift knob, consider how much mass it threatens to add. Too much is a BAD thing for your transmission!" In light of the above information, I dont really need the extra weight to change gears, but I was going to just buy the Desert Eagle knob in conjucntion with the Short Shifter just for the sake of it. FYI: There is also an aliminuim based desert eagle style gear knob weighing at 130 grams (4.58562 ounces). The knob for me isnt an issue and I'm just curious if the stock sportivo shift knob will fit on the TWm short shifter. how much grams is the stock gear knob? Those of you have bought the TWM short shifter: Did you guys choose the Corolla or Matrix option on the TWM website? http://www.twmperformance.com/shortshifter...ortshifters.htm http://www.twmperformance.com/shortshifter...ortshifters.htm My primary concern is to get the TWM shorter shifter installed, so my left arm is not in an awkward or uncomfortable angle whilst changing gears from 1st to 2nd.
  9. Update as of last week: 1. Whiteline Rear sway bar and front strut tower brace installed - $150 install+wheel alignment (Thanks to Reade at Pedders Sth Melb). 2. Window Tint and Shark Fin radio aerial. Soon: TWM short shifter with Desert Eagle shift knob. Been advised that production with engraved shift patterns are in the process of being set in place in the production line.... What colour - Stainless, Gun Blue or Mirror finish? Seeking opinions from members who has these colours.
  10. Oh dear... this seems to be pointing in one direction. Let your car cool down (just in case), and then open your radiator cap and see if it is empty. If it is not, there could possibly be a blockage somewhere in the line. ok checked that, its empty, is that a good sign. i just switched the car on and it seems to be ok now. ive booked it in for a service next week. ive had nothing but issues since i bought this car about 3 months ago. hopefully everything will get sorted out next week but what a headache. /facepalm... call a tow truck and get them to take it to a Toyota service centre. Most likely she has a major leakage in your radiator block or hoses. A radiator keeps the car engine cool at the correct operating temperature... if there is no coolant, then you can kiss your engine goodbye. gg lol
  11. Windows tinited last weekend. Sway bar and strut brace to be installed this sat if time allows Also ordered something little for the exterior to get rid of the horse whip. Will upload pics wen i cbf lol.... 4 day long weekend ftw!
  12. haha... Lift is what gives u the "oh, what a feeling" running thru ur veins! Just gotta love the "WTF...its a corolla!!" facial expressions of V6/V8 drivers/passengers... as u hit lift again in 2nd gear at 90kms from launch at the lights on entrance freeways... love it even more wen they're expecting a V8 coming up behind them late at night, due to the monstrous growl of the 2zzge engine (i/e/h) and as I pass them by, She just melts their faces as they look from left to right on their side windows smearing it with snot and drool.
  13. much larger?? interesting.... would be good to get a comparison... anyone with a spare set of headers.... looking at you dyslexik take pics of the stock headers or ported ones?
  14. SPILLAGE - any plans for custom rear skirt/bumper? would seriously compliment the Mugen style front bumper. Nice work on your ride, especially the custom work on the SRI cold air ducting and heat barrier.
  15. Ride is so sweet Alex! just gets me peaking looking at it lol. Its the distinct detail that sets your car apart from others. The sleeper JDM look is more than enough to turn heads compared to the more ricey stivos out there. I LOVE IT!! Job well done mate! Btw, did u respray your headlights from silver to black with Jason?
  16. Just placed an order from Bursons in Brunswick (VIC) for front strut brace and rear sway bar. Should come in next week. Also contacted Bursons at West Melbourne and dude there informed me that the Whiteline product for zze123 series was discontinued LOL... They all have the same supplier... so gg there....thank god brunswick store knows their stuff. Even checked the Whiteline website to see if it was still available for the '03 rolla sportivo and it still is. ooh can't wait =) Appreciate the advice guys...thanks!
  17. TRD STRUT TOWER BRACE ASSY, FRONT $577.50 TRD STRUT TOWER REINFORCEMENT, FR, PR $138.60 Line 2, Strut Tower Reinforcement, is a reinforcement plate designed to fit under the feet of the strut tower bar to evenly distribute the load of the strut tower brace across the crown of the strut housing. As for rear stabiliser bar, as Australian-delivered Toyota Corolla Sportivo ZZE123R feature a non-independent torsion-bar style rear axle assembly, an additional TRD rear stabiliser bar is not available. From Bursons: total $284 ($24 more than what you guys paid for - but im fine with it) Front strut brace ksb603 whiteline-$135.50…..rear sway bar btr77 whiteline-$148.50… Yeah sorry mate thats the lowest price I can go im afraid…if they are ordered today I would see them on Tuesday.
  18. Simply SUPERB Shah! Job well done mate!
  19. cheers dude... so looking at approx $125-130 each.
  20. Damian from Suspension City lol. He said that the rear axle are linked so therefore doesnt really need a rear sway bar. However the front axles are independant, so front strut brace would be good to install. so install the rear sway bar too u reckon? if u strongly recommend it, then it's going on her, as you have already tested it since ur the previous owner lol.

Hey fellas, Just had King lows all round with KYB Excel G struts (front & back) installed today. Sub & amp installed 2 months ago. FYI: This Sat arvo, she will be getting tint from tin-a-car (25% off),as my right arm doesnt like uneven driver's arm tanning Will also be adding Whiteline Front Strut brace as the fronts are independent. Been advised that a rear sway bar is not required.
  22. subaru version powered with WRX Sti engine? mm... awd+turbo vs rwd+na. I reckon buy subaru, debadge and smack a toyota badge on it.
