  1. Very nice BKS as well as that red one next to yours which I saw last sat in Springy. Love the new rims on it!
  2. YES IVY RESTAURANT AND PIE IN THE SKY!!!!! list of restaurants on mt dandenong http://maps.google.com.au/maps?hl=en&um=1&ie=UTF-8&q=list+of+restaurants+in+mt+dandenong&fb=1&gl=au&hq=restaurants&hnear=mt+dandenong&view=text&ei=ZxbhS_qMF5WXkQXIjJn9Dw&sa=X&oi=local_group&ct=more-results&resnum=1&ved=0CCEQtwMwAA
  3. I'm guessing your wife wears the pants in the r'ship... hihihi c'mon man, you gotta live up to your nick...YOU are Himura KENSHIN! :P
  4. actually she was in the car with me, we work at the same company lol. We were heading to HP to meet with friends to catch a flick. I live up north.
  5. Saw the same black facelift Sportivo (XRG132) again on friday after work. She was behind me from Spencer street all the way to Ballarat road in Footscray (stopped and parked across Footscray Park). The girls must reside there. Confirmed: Car is lowered and has eyelids.
  6. Does WOW count lol? retired mid 2009, played since 2005.
  7. [quote name='Kenshin X' date='30 April 2010 - 12:50 PM' timestamp='1272592224' lol with red (non-flashing) centres more info on the car, not lowered anything else apart from the "decorative" stuff :P i'm lucky my wife lets me look at other girls and comment on them :) wtf i saw the same red 3500SL again, he lives in st. albans? mm.. I think it was lowered, but when my eyes levelled with the tinted windows, I kinda went off track. Not everyday you see a nice looking asian girl driving a nice looking car ;) Last month i saw a hot looking asian girl driving a black Evo 9 out of QV car park. Even my gf said to my friend and I, "hmm.. that chick is hot and she's driving a hot car... u guys suck!". So on the way home, I hit lift upon entering the fwy - that shut her up reaaal good!
  8. The insurance company usually auctions the written car off to repairers to salvage as much as they can from the payment they had made to you. Of course they would sell back the car to you at a significantly higher price than that they had paid you out. Or else, everyone will take advantage of this, by buying back the car at a cheaper price and using the left over cash they received from written off payment to use on repairing the damage on the car. Its only cosmetic. Mechanically it's sound as a rocket. Imo, I would just cough out repair costs to panel beater or have custom panels made from the same non-metal materials made for hard top detachable roofs. My friend's MX5 got battered all over from the storm here too, but only his hard top roof was left undamaged because it wasn't made from metal.
  9. was the chick hot saw a red 3500SL turning into station road from main road west this morning. he let it rip (dunno if he full throttled it), sounded really sweet. Both of them must of been pretty, cause my gf said to me "stop gawking at the car" as a hint to me to stop looking at the 2 nice asian girls inside the car. I think she would of given me a pair of unwanted blackened JDM eyes :P
  10. Spotted a very nice clean black facelift corolla sportivo (XRG132) on Spencer Street - Southern cross station - Asian female driver and passenger. C-one rear lip, euro style tailights and dark slimline weathershields (possibly not toyota brand - her's looks better imo).
  11. I've gathered that there was no mechanical damage from the storm as you still drive the car. Is it just exterior panel damage? Imo, too much of your time, effort and $$$ has been put into this project, for you to just accept a write-off payment as a solution. This MR2 is simply the best that I've come across so far, it can only just get better in future, and that’s if you were to get it cosmetically repaired. But if you choose not too, maybe a lucky panel beater will score himself this prized MR2 from the insurance auction. I commend all your hard work put into this car, very impressive and awe inspiring.
  12. Can you add me to the list dude. Car should be ready by then ;) Most ppl bringing their partners? My missus doesnt like loud noises, thus the Varex butterfly valve would remain closed :( Is Sunshine still the meeting place or has it been changed to Diamond Creek as Tash noted?
  13. Before you hit the barrier, were you doing something like this in Saudi Arabia? http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=5354694483620792263#docid=-5107653974746566254
  14. I'd start with buying a hockey mask But with some info that is related to this thread, the Americans aren't like the Fidanza flywheels. Complaining of them being out of spec, so the pick of the bunch seems to be the C-One. Sorry to bring this thread back from the grave SD. Q: Does the C-One Performance Clutch System kit include the light weight flywheel? Is this a better option (less noisey) in regards to the Exedy HD + Fidanza flywheel combo? Any mods required to the gearbox to have the C-one installed?
  15. I bought my Amsoil RD30 for $21 per quart (0.946L). Go to the link below. http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=26015&st=0&p=376256&fromsearch=1entry376256
  16. hey mate, I have a set of oem springs for sale from a 2003 corolla sportivo. price? I'm in Melb though.
  17. Engine Oil I currently have RP 10w40 in the car now, which seems to be working all good. Oil level is the same even after some spirited driving and has'nt burned off. But I am changing to Amsoil RD30 on next service, to try it out. You can do a search of my post of a private supplier that I and some TOCAU members buy their oils/sparks from in Melbourne and can post the items to you too. MT Gearbox Oil I also have the Castrol Syntrax oil with Nulon G70 additive - shifting is sweet when the oil is warmed up, but upon start up especially on cold days, I personally find that shifting to 1st and 2nd gear is a bit notchy (like slicing through cold butter with a spoon). So after doing some reserach on this forum, I have found that some reputable members use Redline MT-90, as it works well in all temp ranges. Thus, I will be giving this ago. Brisbane climate is generally more humid and warmer than other states down south. 10w40 would be great choice. Toyota only recommends 10w30 as it is the most universal grade of oil that they use to service the different toyota models at their service centres. Think your car just needs a tune. But you do know that most cars idle like that when the aircon is on, as the aircon uses a certain percentage of power too from the engine bay and also increases petrol consumption. As for the 60,000km scheduled fuel injector service, I would suggest that you opt for it. "You gotta spend money to make money"... for your case, by spending money for it to be done, you may possibly save yourself from expensive repair costs if things go wrong in future by not getting it done at all. Read the manual, in regards to what is needed to be done on every scheduled service. Goodluck! hope this bit of info helps ;)
  18. Do you live in Meadow Heights too Peter? I've never seen your car around there.
  19. I believe it has factory speakers with a JL sub. How's your mate's white stivo going - replaced the clutch yet? Btw, how can you hear the music+bass over the exhaust lol?
  20. Hey dude, The TRD Quick Shifter is less than an inch shorter than stock. Everything else is the same with exceptions to the 2 metal clips on the top of the cradle. I disliked the design as the holes for metal base bushings was not a snug fit for the stock screws which you need to use. So I bought the TWM short shifter, cradle bushings, gear knob and cable bushings, which i recently installed. The reduced height of the stick is very significant before installation compared to the TRD QS. The attached pic is from the below link: (TRD QS is the one upside down) http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=11407
  21. Best to install a surveillance camera for your carport with night vision capability and hook it up to your PC. You can also get a complete setup with 2-3 cameras and a recording unit at Costco. Atleast, you will know who the tools are, if they ever came back. OR Install a car alarm with motion sensors. I had it on my Yamaha R6. It lets out warning beeps if a person is standing within a foot away from it. Then the alarm goes beserk if they are still standing there for more than 10 secs. Also, if someone jumps on it or touches the bike itself, the alarm gives 3 warning beeps in 2 sec intervals before it goes into panic mode . Best to get one with a remote that beeps or vibrates to warn you if you are in shopping centres, etc.
  22. Which suburb did this occur in? make sure I don't leave my stivo parked out there with blardy ninjas lurking around. Hope you find out who taxed them off you... should garage your car from now on.
  23. The reason why you see that your engine oil is dark, is because it is doing it's job in suspending any loose particles from being saturated. It may also mean that your due for an oil change (smell and feel the oil from both the dipstick and on top of the engine - unscrew the oil cap). If you change your oil every 5,000kms or according to the manufacturer's recommended service schedule, you should never ever have to flush your engine...ever! But if your still adamant in doing an engine flush, I would recommend in getting an oil analysis done first to see if you really need too. FYI: I also have an EK4 Honda Civic, purchased new in 1997, 235,000 kms on the clock, engine runs smoothly except for the chirping noise due to engine wear. Serviced regularly at Honda and a family friend who is a mechanic. Never ever had a mechanical problem at all... except for rear tail lights being replaced and getting the aircon re-gased. If I was too flush this engine now, in my opinion, all hell will break lose and wreak havoc in the engine. "The problem with flushing the engine is that even when you put new oil in to lubricate the components that need them there are some areas that the oil cannot get to, that the solvent has now taken away or seeped out of tight spaces. When your engine is built in the factory they use assembly lube on all the parts (bearing journals, etc) before the engine is assembled. This is to prevent damage on the first start up. These are areas where oil, as I said, cannot get if you just fill the crank case with oil. Remember, oil is viscous, and in many cases the tolerances between certain surfaces is in the thousandths of an inch (eg. .005"). On startup, there is a brief moment where the oil pump is not primed, and thus not squirting oild into those areas where it is needed most. Oil left there during a previous run is important in that it protects the engine from damage when you start it up again. On a NEW startup, there is no oil in there at all. And as said, if you remove that with solvents... the engine is going to be toast in no time." http://digg.com/autos/Never_Get_an_Engine_Flush_Here_s_Why
  24. You should'nt really be flushing your engine unless there is something majorly wrong with it (ie. filled it up with diesel instead of petrol). As you flush your engine, the materials you use to flush it with, may loosen any particles that may have help seal off any leaks on rubber seals or dislodging saturated oil sludge back through the engine that may end up blocking valves, etc. Therefore, causing more damage than good. What's your reason to flush it anyway? I know for a fact that the top vehicle manufacturing companies do not recommend engine flushes for any reason unless your engine, unless it has a severe problem like the one mentioned above, etc.
  25. yeh maybe, but if I was, I would have just installed it. :P
