  1. Nope, I am referring to the black metal bracket that sits on top of the strut tower and joins all 3 bolts together It's not possible to fit the strut bar base over this bracket and it must be removed. P.S. Strut bar has been ordered and will arrive in 3 weeks.
  2. I found another version of the ZRE sedan bodykit and this one is pretty much a classic style I think it's a practical style to have on the sedan and at $800.00 delivered from China it's not a bad option. Of course I would have to add the cost of painting to that as it comes un-painted.
  3. I thought so too when he mentioned 3 ZRE owners ;) How did you remove the black horseshoe from around the strut bolts? Did you have to undo the metal plate under the plastic cowl (after taking it off) from the top?
  4. Well mate, they still can't figure out if I want the front or the rea one, so don't hold your breath :) Does anyone have a part number for this damn thing to make sure I am ordering the correct one.? EDIT: Found the part number on the C-One website HERE. It's FT5360-ZE150
  5. Yummm, love the tail light garnishes :) How huge is that spoiler??? I reckon my wife will fly the kids to school in the rolla with that spoiler. hahahaha :) Thanks for the link mate.
  6. Yep, that's the C-One ZRE strut brace indeed. Mate, now that you put it this way, it's enough re-assurance for me. Thanks a lot for the encouragement ;) Ordering now.
  7. where you get the c-one from ? nengun ? how much all up ? i'm looking for a set of strut bars for my zre too.. havent found myself a sweet spot quite yet i got it from www.rmsmotorparts.com.au which is located in melb. it cost $350 AU shipped to aus but i had to go pick it up from the shop. goodluck with it! Contacted RMS about importing the C-One strut bar for my ZRE sedan, was quoted $320.00 (incl. delivery to Sydney). I asked them if they sold any of these strut bars to ZRE sedan owners and they replied saying they sold it to 3 ZRE owners (no mention of sedans). I asked them if I can return it in case it doesn't fit the sedan ZRE and was told I couldn't. What a dilemma :( I don't wanna waste over 300 bucks only to find out it doesn't fit and at the same I am wondering what difference could there be between the sedan and hatch ZRE when it comes to strut mounts. Can someone please re-assure me a little, so I can go a head and order one :)....don;t worry, I won't kill you if it doesn't fit LOL :)
  8. LOL :) I must have a completely different taste to you guys when it comes to modding my cars :) I love the rear and not so on the front. I guess I can get one set imported and split it up with one of you ;) Keep the feedback coming, I might get convinced to only get the front :)
  9. That is more like and what I would expect from the 1.8LT ZRE for sure. I will try and re-set the ECU and see what happens. I should have mentioned it at the last service but completely forgot. The car is not being driven hard at all and is only doing school runs at the moment.
  10. Great idea guys and am in for it for sure. However, I think it is best that we clearly mention that the donation is being made as part of TOCAU as an "organisation" when prompted on the list, so it would clearly show this donation as a community effort.
  11. Sorry, I didn't know that the shroud around the fog light is different between the hatch and sedan, it certainly didn't look any different to me, but I could be wrong. I got mine from MARS on eBay as you have read, but there are cheaper ones out there from overseas if you're prepared to wait a bit for them to arrive by post. I had mine fitted by an auto electrician as I wanted him to wire-up the push button switch to work exactly like the steering stalk switch and he supplied the relay as well. I can give you his details if you like, he's a local auto electrician shop in Kirrawee and can fit them for you in about 2 hours.
  12. Check THIS thread. Save yourself a small fortune and get the aftermarket fog light kit from eBay which fits and works 100% like the original at almost half the price ;) The sedan and hatch ZRE share the same fog-light assembly. P.S. I will show you my set-up at the next meet.
  13. Hi Guys, Why not have a dedicated thread for the ZRE Sedan owners just like there is one for the Hot Hatch? LOL :) Anyway, I am shopping around for a bodykit for my ZRE and today I received a response about this style bodykit. Now my question to you guys as follows: Which style would look nicer on my Rolla? I am leaning towards the one on the right on the Silver Altis, but would like to hear your views.
  14. You're welcome. Look forward to seeing pics of them fitted to you ride ;) As for myself, I got a pair of Philips Crystal Vision (4,300K) bulbs and fitted them today. Toyota couldn't have made changing bulbs any more difficult. It's either that or I have huge sausage fingers. hehehehe :) Anyway, the end result is pretty cool and matches the LED parkers and 4,300K bulbs I have in the fog lights. I only changed the low beam at this stage. I don't think I will change the high beam as this is a temporary mod until I get my projector headlights
  15. Hi Guys, I met one of the ZRE Conquest sedan owners the other day (a member of this forum) and we started comparing differences between our cars. One funny thing we noticed is that Toyota and for some weird reason only decided to spend half the money on the Ascent version ZRE by making the front windows automatic and the rear ones manual :) It actually looks quite funny when you see it on the car, gives the impression of half a job being done or as if Toyota run-out of window regulators and door switches. hehehehe :) Anyway, I don't like to see incomplete things in the cars I drive, so am gonna retrofit the Conquest rear door trims as well as the window regulators to my Ascent and make it look complete. I put a request out on the parts locator website (thanks to this forum for mentioning it) and sure enough got a response regarding the availability of these door trims to fit my rolla. One wrecker mentioned that I must change all 4 door trims if I decide to do this, as the front driver main control switch panel is different between the Ascent and Conquest and it also controls the rear windows. Anyway, I got a price of $1000 for all 4 door trims, all wiring and all 4 window regulators which I think is a fair price given the price of the aftermarket kits I have seen on the market previously. My post is to ask if any other ZRE Ascent owner has thought of doing this and if the Hatch Ascent also has manual rear windows like the sedan. P.S. I think my wife is gonna kill me is she finds out I have spent that much on the rear door trim. hehehehe :) It's all part of the fun of car modding ;)
  16. Thanks mate, I reckon this will solve it. I would need to get a female H7 plug to go into the bulb and an HB3 or HB4 male plug to go in the car wiring harness and connect these 2 plugs together to make-up the adapter.
  17. The factory harness is bulb specific and it plugs directly into the bulb itself, so that is why am asking. The factory harness would have connections to suit the HB3 and HB4 bulbs and even though the aftermarket projector headlights would come with a H7 bulb (and maybe a connector, although I doubt it) it means I would have to splice into the factory loom to fit the H7 harness and I don't wanna do that.
  18. Hi Guys, I am planning to change my headlights (entire housing swap) to some aftermarket ones that have projectors in them, now the problem I am facing is that these headlights use H7 bulbs for both Hi and Lo beam and my ZRE Corolla came with HB3 and HB4 bulbs from the factory. I was wondering if I can find some sort of wiring harness adapters or conversion kit that can plug into the factory wiring loom meant to connect to the HB3 and HB4 bulbs and convert this connection to H7. I don't wanna go splicing and cutting factory wires to suit these aftermarket headlights. Has anyone done this before?
  19. Hi Guys, Never thought I would say this about a Toyota, but am totally shocked by the fuel consumption of the ZRE sedan. The last 2 fuel tanks returned a shocking 14.5LT/100kms and that is only suburban driving with no hard acceleration at all. I thought the Nissan Tiida we had previously was bad coming at 11.5LT/100kms for a 1.8 litre engine, but this is just un-heard of for a Toyota which is usually known for its good fuel economy. I mean, even my 2.5LT 4WD X-Trail consumes about 10.5LT/100kms and it weighs probably twice as heavy as the Corolla, so what's the story? I filled-up yesterday and the gauge is telling me that on a full tank I would only manage to get 375kms P.S. I had a 97 Camry previously and I could do around 750kms on a tank of fuel highway runs.
  20. Thanks mate, this thread has some good info. too http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/inde...mp;hl=strut+bar
  21. Guys, Does anyone have pics showing the C-One strut bar fitted to their ZRE and where can I buy it from? EDIT: Never mind, I found the thread with pics.
  22. Thanks Pete, I'm not into hooning at all, just asked the question in case there was some special club rules regarding outings. (i.e. convoy formation, stops....etc)
  23. Thanks mate, my preference was Black, but I couldn't find a clean 2nd hand rolla in Black when I was shopping around, so this colour was our 2nd choice.
  24. Thanks mate. I guess we can meet-up at Sutherland and head to the meet-up point in a mini convoy you and I. Sure, but I was thinking of just waiting at Sutherland along the proposed route for them to come past :P. It'll save a fairly wasteful trip to and from wherever the cruise is starting. Good thinking mate, we get an extra hour sleep LOL
