  1. Hi, i didnt remove my weather seal. I think it might be the difference from hatch to sedan. Looking at your pics, yes it is different and the sedan has more screws to remove :)
  2. Have you tried removing the plastic trim off the pillar to check if you can see any bolts holding this piece in place from inside the car? If there are no bolts, chances are it is clipped-on in place.
  3. Mitch, As you know I have ordered mine and it's been over 5 weeks and it's still not here. I was told yesterday that it will take another 1.5 weeks to get to me. Apparently C-One don't hold any stock and only produce these strut bars when an order is in place, so when my order came in and because it was only for ONE strut bar, they delayed production until they got more orders through. I'm not happy about that at all, as I could have ordered the Cusco one which would have arrived here within 4 days max. For a group-buy order though I think C-One will produce it faster, but you better check the lead-time. With a strong Aussie Dollar you guys gonna save a bit, as it cost me $320.00 (Australian Dollars) all up including shipping and delivery from Melbourne to Sydney. The other thing you need to be aware of is that if this order gets sent to one person and that person will be forwarding them on, there is a BIG chance the shipment will attract attention of customs and whoever gets it will be up for import duty charges (which are around 20%), so you better ask the supplier if they can dispatch these strut bars directly to your individual addresses separately rather than all in one box.
  4. The exhaust system already doing its magic LOL :) I went to the local post office this morning and this guy in a Sportivo Camry pulls over and asks me "Is this an Aurion or a Camry?" I said, it's a Corolla mate, he goes "I've never seen a Corolla with dual exhaust system on it" hahahaha I told him, "Well, you have seen one just now and it's not like the rest of the Corolla's out there" :P Never thought that such a mod would attract attention, but there you go ;)
  5. Hi Guys, Is this limited to the Hatch ZREs or would you accept Sedan ZREs in your ranks? ;) P.S. Not sure about a cruise, but I'd be up for a photoshoot at Homebush, I love that place at night as well and have done many photo-shoots there previously at night-time. During the day however, a good spot for a photo-shoot is at Brighton LeSands at the park near that bridge.
  6. Step #1 should be to remove the inner weather seal that is attached to the top of the door trim. It unclips and not being held by any screws. Just lift it up gently.
  7. :) Close, HERE is what it means ;)
  8. I completely agree with his reaction and what he said ;)
  9. AAMI I bought this Rolla as a result of an insurance pay out on the Nissan Tiida my wife has written-off and AAMI settled the claim within 3 days only! On the 4th day we got the ZRE sedan. The name is an appreciation of AAMIs excellent customer service. ;)
  10. All OK now, the ECU re-set solved the problem. I can even feel more power now. hahahahaha Was standing near the Rolla listening to the purr this morning, it was quiet outside so I could listen to it carefully. Yummmm :D :D
  11. Has there been issues with torque converter in the ZRE previously?
  12. Hi Guys, As I told some of you tonight when heading to the meet-up tonight I noticed the car was behaving a bit strange in terms of RPM stability. Driving down a hill if I lift off my foot from the accelerator and touch the brakes a bit to slow the car down the RPM jumps from 2000RPM to 3000RPM and stays there until I hit the accelerator hard enough for it to drop. At idle with the air-con on, the RPM needle doesn't stay in the same place, it goes to about 1000RPM and then drops down again to about 800RPM. I wonder if the ECU is asking for a re-set after installing the cat. back system or if I need to take to Toyota to do the idle re-learn? Very strange indeed. I will re-set the ECU tomorrow morning and see what happens.
  13. Thanks mate ;) Yeah, photos don't do the chrome any justice sometimes LOL :)
  14. Don't think so mate. The stock piping is very restrictive at 1.25" and the sound now is exactly as I want it. It's worth every cent spent on it. I didn't pay that much money for looks only ;)
  15. wow must sound near stock? when i did my zorst i just swapped the axle back for a twin loop and it made very little difference in sound! it was not ujntil i removed the centre muffler and repaced it with a smaller one did i hear noise! Yep, almost as quiet as the stock with a very nice purr when I get to 2000RPM. When idling I can't hear it at all.
  16. Thanks Daryl, Solid proof of the gain will be provided in due course, provided I can find a stock ZRE owner to dyno their car as stock, so we can compare the gains more accurately that way. A power gain is a power gain, regardless of how much it is, for NA engine it's noticeable, hence my feedback. Anyway, I just came back from Hi-Tech and decided to add another small resonator in-line to completely quieten down the system and I am completely satisfied with noise level now. That little bit of drone which some people like didn't go well with my sensitive hearing LOL :) P.S. We checked that rocket of a muffler again and I can confirm 100% that there is cat. converter there whatsoever, had there been a cat. converter there we would have seen the O2 sensor mounted after it, which is not the case.
  17. No offence taken mate. I will let an owner of a stock ZRE sedan drive my car and decide if there is noticeable power gain as a resault of this system or not. They will notice the difference straight away (if there is any). I know I did and my "butt dyno" never fails :D
  18. Did you ask Toyota about that muffler under the car? what did they say?
  19. Maybe it's just me, as I got used to drive around in my x-trail which also has the twin set-up and it's much quieter than the Rolla. My wife is not complaining but I can hear it :) If I base the power increase from a cat. back system on the xtrail which was 9KW (at the wheels) for a 2.5LT engine (dyno proven), I believe the Rolla gained a bit more than 2KW at the wheels, it certainly feels like it but it has to be dynoed for more accurate figures. I will put it on the dyno when I do the CAI.
  20. I started to drive the Rolla with 2 as well LOL :D The power increase is something that I didn't expect at all. I wish we could arrange a dyno day or something ;)
  21. True, it's expensive indeed, but I pay for quality, 10 years warranty and knowing that it will give results. I didn't want to remove the resonator behind the factory cat. at seemed to be doing it's job. Had I needed more ground clerance I would have gotten rid of it. It's still on the cards though as I'm going back to Hi-Tech next week sometime to make the system a bit more quiet. Those of you coming to the meet-up this Saturday will be able to hear it and let me know if you think it's loud and requires fine tuning. I am testing this system at the moment and might have to go back to Hi-Tech a couple of more times to have it operating exactly as I want.
  22. Here is a pic explaining where the cat. converter is: Only one of the O2 (Oxygen Sensors) is showing in this pic, the other O2 sensor is before the cat. converter further up. I also think that this is the second cat. converter, as there would be another one built into the exhaust manifold as part of the extractors. The price of this cat. back system is $980.00 (plus GST) supplied & fitted and it carry's 10 years warranty which is more than any factory warranty on any exhaust system I have ever seen. The entire system is Stainless Steel (not mild steel) which means it will never rust! It's black because I told them to paint the pipes and the mufflers for a "sleeper look" ;)
  23. hahahaha :) Sorry mate to inspire you that much LOL :) Looking at your set-up I can confirm that it is 100% the same as the sedan ZRE, so this system would fit it like a glove. The system starts from the flange after that big resonator all the way back to the twin tips. The pipe size of the factory set-up is very restrictive at 1.25". Hi-Tech have fitted 2" pipe all the way through.
  24. That's strange Will because a cat. converter needs to have a ceramic core. This bulky resonator is completely empty inside, so it can't be a catalytic converter. Had your exhaust guy run a wire through it he would have realized it's not a cat.
  25. Are you sure? That bulky rocket in the middle if the car (if you have one) is actually a resonator and you would see an O2 sensor just before it and if you look further up, you would see the black cat. converter with another O2 sensor before it as well. My assumption is that the first cat. converter is part of the exhaust manifold. Yes, it is the resonator on the sedan as well as was located at the back of the car behind the factory muffler tip.
