  1. Have you actually looked at the headlight yet?? there are only a few bolts holding them in. You dont have to remove them if you dont want to put the ballasts in the OEM place provided. You dont have to remove them if you dont want to shake out your parker either. Your probably going to have to take off your front bumber anyways to install the HID kit on the fogs i assume.. Just double use the double sided tape to tape the ballasts on any flat surface that the reach of the kit wiring will allow, and cable tie for good measure if possible. If its not a waterproof kit, be sure to silicone up the holes where the wiring come in and out of the ballast. Might pay to drop into your local Auto lec and see what they will charge.
  2. Ahhh your one of us that lost the globe in the headlight huh?? Done that a few times myself.. OEM ballasts for low beam are placed under the headlight its self, there is a flat panel there for the ballasts. Its easy enough to remove the headlights. You will need to remove the headlight to get out your parker anyways, have a pair of needle nosed pliars at the ready, remove the headlight, disconnect the wiring and shake that baby around till the parker globe is near the hole, gently try to wiggle it out of tilt it so it falls out the hole... Im not one that says "NO" to HID's in the fogs in the right situation.... The ZRE series point down at the ground (like 90% of fog lights, as they should), only illuminating around 5 odd meters in front of the car, for the cost of the kit try it out first anyways... there are a few melb guys running HID fogs with no problems. 3,000k would be a nice choice.
  3. John, that pic will haunt you for years to come... your a brave man for posting it up!
  4. Yeah your right, a true b@stard child from Toyota..:D I just doesn't flow that well... Still, RWD 1JZ love, or is it a 2Jz?
  5. The Injen comes with very straight forward instructions, full pics for each step. All kits are pretty much the same, except SRI (Short Ram Intakes) dont require removal of the front bumper. I think as long as you can operate a socket set and a screwdriver you can install it. Its actually a great first DIY mod. If your still not wanting to do it, i would estimate 1-1.5 hours for a mechanic to do it. Hourly rates vary widely. between $50-170/hour. Toyota service guys should be able to do it in about 1/2 to 45min, 1 hour tops. SRI can easily be done in about 15min.. maybe 30 min tops.

  7. Davo, just a quick question... after Super Resin Polish & Extra Gloss Protectant, would Megs quick detailer still be OK to use for quick wipe downs? or would you opt for AutoGlym's Rapid detailer? I assume they are similar, i just dont want to damage my EGP once its down... Ive got about 1/2 bottle left of the Megs QD, ao just wondering if youve tried the AG RD? http://www.carcareproducts.com.au/product/autoglym/rapid_detailer Thanks for your assistance
  8. Bumped cause i found these nice little SMD discs. Ebay SMD discs 2mm high, 30mm diameter red, white, green, blue. 1X5050(3-chip) - I would think these would be a nice level of light, not too much, not too little.. worth a try..

  19. I saw a great pair some time ago on a Jap site. They switched on after sensing engine vibration and switched off after 2 or 3 min after engine off. They wont switch off at stop lights ect.. very neat idea, and minimal wiring except to ACC supply. Ill have to search high and low to find them again...
  20. Great work, excellent stringing along!
