  1. Why don't you just try, man, and stop theoretising. You need practice. Of course. But this talk is about launching, isnt it?... or about caring about cars? You dont. If you had you'd stop theoretizing, and saying whats possible, and what's not. You'd stop worrying about MASSIVE STRESSES, cause, it is all OK with the drivetrain. The only thing that needs to be replaced is the clutch. The rest is OK, unless you dont run slicks and LSD... But why am I writing this? You already know these things, don't you? I guess its not possible, because I'm the one who beats the hell out of his car and practices different methods, setups and so on, and you are the bloke who seats in front of the keyboard and judges and doubts my PRACTICAL achievements and discoveries using his logic and never goes to the track. I never said that, man. I'm far from this, since I'm the worst driver in our pack - I have the most modified car, and lose with a stocker... But you know what -- I practice, and soon will be the best. You know why? Because sometimes I lift my ***** from the chair and drive for the pleasure of it, not worrying all the time what is going to break... Do you even get it? It is you who interpreted my words the way you did. YOU put in my mouth that I said you cannot drive. Is it because of some kind of a complex? I respect you, and your driving abilities, but I ONLY SAID, THAT YOU SHOULD PRACTICE MORE TO GET BETTER RESULTS. I'm so scared... Here once again I'd use the word beginning with P... PS. And one thing you really know. The Extras. You were right. You have more of them. Care for another serving of rice? ;)
  2. Nish, I guess every 2zz-ge goes to 7000 rpm - it's a rev limit for the first cam. The australian models are made in SA, arent they? So would they supply different ecus only for the aus exports? Strange ;) :D But Nish, you should really try the 7000 rpm.
  3. I'd go with centrifugal rotrex - faaar easier to install. do a search for rotrex on www.newcelica.org
  4. Blade, Why don't you just try what I posted instead of laughing at me? In case you didn't understand, point 3 in the "advanced launch" says to lessen the gas while in lift. When you dump clutch, you wait till the car gets in lift while spinning then you lessen the gas for a fraction of sec, so it grabs. Then you floor it again. This way you take off in lift... Blue, I'll realize when sb. tells me about the diffs. Now I know... The traction has to be off for a good launch. I just think that our cars have THE SAME potential...
  5. Blade. To sum up: you're pathetic. 7000 rpm is EXACTLY the rev limit for statioonary car. Looks like you've never pressed gas pedal to the floor. And to both of you, THERE IS THIS TRC OFF button, assholes, that you can press. And Blade again, I got my timeslips, on stock T-sport, launching just the way I described, i'm not gonna discuss this with you, you have seen the proof. It works. And the fact that you have no fvcking idea about the 2zz-ge drivetrain... I don't care. TIP: search at newcelica.org for vids on launching Celica GT-S, so you'll see how it should be done. And in the meantime practice your lame launches... maybe you'll get to low 17s. heheehe
  6. Not safe, but efficient: For novice: 1. 5000 rpm 2. Clutch dump 3. Flatshift at redline For advanced: 1. 7000 rpm 2. Clutch dump + slightly less gas when hits lift with wheels spinning (depends on surface) 3. Flatshift 1 -> 2 at redline, then at 8000.
  7. Shiat, man. I'm really sorry. I'd have sworn I posted the timeslips... And I haven't sorry again man. Here it is: Stock CTS, if you want I can take pisc of mine (15.03) and my friends (slightly lower 14.8)
  8. Azza, I already said. It is posted in this forum USE SEARCH
  9. Sure, thats what I'm sayng. I'm sure danthuyer is able to do 14.5. Maybe his tyres are not good for drags, maybe his wheels are to heavy? I don't know. Maybe if he takes of with clutch dump and flat shift he'd be able to shave off .2 s? It all takes practice, and this is the only thing I'm saying. So I guess this is your problem... But I don't think its a reason to insult me. Nothing. Just: "practice makes perfect" Me too. I even think australians are better as far as drag races, coz drags started in PL only 4 years ago! I understand this is sarcasm... But maybe you'll be happy to hear, that my friend with stock CTS beats me by .1 s on 1/4. You know why? Because he practices more than I. I'm planning to come to Aus next year for holidays. Will not take my car, but will see how I manage on one of your drag tracks :) Dont take everything so personally. Your hair will turn gray. :D ;) Maybe my written english is not polite/good enough, but I really didn't want to insult anyone. If anybody still feels insulted, I'm really sorry. Martin.
  10. I know. I just wanted to say, that if you practiced more, you'd surely get better times... Blade Hunter, shaohaok CTS has more extras than Sportivo. The pressure is similar. The fuel in PL is really bad. And it seems only you understood my posts as somehow offensive. Really didn't mean to be offensive, but you took my posts personally and said things, that although were not directly for me, are far more offensive than what I said. So now I see how the phenomenon works... :(
  11. Tivo Matt, It only means we really practice a lot. EDIT: Cut the post short.
  12. I didn't want to mention the surface, but in PL we don't have any drag track. The times were achieved on normal concrete or street asphalt surface. The surface wasn't clean and perfectly flat. We are about 170 meters above sea level. Polish 1/4 mile is 402,xx meters. No difference here :P We mostly use TAG Heuer equipment. I'm sure on proper track stock T-Sport is capable of 14,6 - 14,7... You just have to know how to drive it. B)
  13. Danthuyer, Our cars are 1270 kg. We don't use traction ctr during launches b/c it slows our cars a lot. The times were measured in the summer, over 20 deg. C. But its a great time! I remember my first time I got under 15's! With my post I just wanted to stimulate you to more practice, as you have 10 HP - 20 HP more ATW, than we in PL, so I'm sure your car is capable of 14,3 - 14,5. Azza, Do a search, I posted some timeslips of a lightly modded CTS (around 14,86) and a stock one (14,8). It looks like in CTS driver's ability is the most important factor.
  14. Don't want to be ugly, but some of us in Corolla Club Poland do this kind of times (even a bit faster) in stock cars, so I'd suggest more launch and shifting training, coz the car surely has now the potential to get into mid 14's...
  15. Go with SMT6 -- will give you Unichip gains at the cost of e-manage. Plus you got two maps.
  16. Nice car, but the original 3 door looks better.
  17. BUMP! Anyone have any idea if the item in the link would solve sticky gears?
  18. Hey, Do you guys think this would solve the issue? http://www.speed-source.net/products/pushrod.htm
  19. Thaks, man. The thing about noticing was sarcasm on my side. :P
  20. Thanx guys. I'm pretty sure it will fit, but as for final precaution, could anyone of you take measurements of the original muffler and resonator? Thanks.
  21. Of course they will ship it. If they're shipping outside Birsbane, why wouldn'd they ship outside Australia.
  22. Oh shiat! I didn't notice.
  23. Hello Can anybody give me the e-mail/www to contact CES. I want to ask several qs about the sportivo exhaust, did search here, but the search does not find words shorter than 4 characters. BTW How many of you are running CES setup so far? Has andybody else did dyno-test the exhaust?
