  1. no i was thinking about a system where you could change the settings of the shocks to hard if you wanted performance... or soft if you dont want your kids 2 wake up from the bumpz in the road while your driving
  2. i believe its damper. " Rancho RS9000X adjustable shocks.....better-quality product with 15-stage internal velocity-sensitive valving AND a 9-position, external ride-adjustment knob that permits alteration of the stiffness by up to 800%" if i wanted to have adjustable height i think the main choices are airbagz or hydrolicz am i right? i guess if your changing the settingz underneith the car you would b adjusting height yea? as in D2coiloverz
  3. my guess is you like da mistisaz... supposedly spanish blood mixed with filo..
  4. that was my next question! just peering underneith my car, i cant see a spare bolt i can attach it to.
  5. ok heres the thing: growing up ive always been into 4wdz, until i bought my corolla, which i only bought coz i was bout 2 get married and needed a sensable A to B vehicle that my future kids wont struggle to get into. one of the modz i wanted but never bought on my 4wd were these - Rancho RS9000X adjustable shocks. check em out here - http://www.rancho.com.au/rancho.htm rancho shocks come with either 5 or 9 positionz (depending on the model) and comes with an optional IN-CAB system that lets you adjust the shocks while your still in the drivers seat - even WHILE YOU ARE driving. heres the in-cab switch my question is, since no1 seems to have mentioned it b4 - IS THERE SUCH A SYSTEM FOR OUR COROLLAZ? im sure there is but all i see in these forums is adjustable shocks that require you to go underneith the car to change the settings from hard to soft... and i dont want to have to do that.
  6. they way i looked at it - considering where i normally park my car... the height of the stickers would NOT be the first thing to get bumped into. actually i do have a few scars on my front passenger door. (all of them not my fault) and it seems the scratches occur most up around the level of the door handle. of course... can you imagine after all the work we did on the doors, if the doors got scratched????? ***** me off severe... dont be scared of taking these off... it takes a lot of effort but for bout $3.50 for a bottle of turpentine, fishing line and some rags... you can make your corolla looking different without buying a bodykit :P btw i havent debadged the CONQUEST or the SECA stickers on the back... im considering removing the 1.8 stickers on the sides. but yea im pretty happy with the results :P just ask your wife first b4 you go and do it... hehehhe im just lucky mine wanted 2 join in muahahaha! Lolz coolz coolz....u've given me confidence!! i shall attempt!! :D B) Lolz i'm too young to have a woman...lolz n plus i'm not ready yet!! Thanks for ur encouragements!! ^_^ N remember to take some nice photos wen its all done....i will too!! ^_^ ill take pictures tonight with my digital... camerafone was handy coz it makes small sized jpgz.. .but yea might give my car a quick wash then take the pics. EDIT = done with the quick wash, time for the pics.

  8. THE JOBS FINISHED! *clap*clap*clap* first i used fishing line just like those other ppl described in the other posts... ( use a good fishingline... something better than 9lb... use something much stronger if you dont want the string to break). otherwise, if the string keeps breaking, pull it in a sawing motion just a bit at a time. dont force it through the gunk. once the plastic sticker thing came off, my wife worked on one door, i worked on the other. to remove the gunk we just soaked a clean cloth with low odour turps and used the edge of an old credit card to scrape the gunk off. you dont need 2 do it in a group! hehehe just get a mate with ya and itll be ok.
  9. look 4 this at your local autoshop (picture not actual size)
  10. WOAH... break fluid???? hahaha even i know thats a good paint stripper!!! especially if you are trying to strip paint from plastics like bumpers or the spoiler... coz regular paint stripper is designed for metal and will ruin the plastic bumpers etc.. im currently in the process of repainting my spoiler + fabricating fibreglass wingtipz too hehehe.. i was considering the break fluid option but chose the electric sander instead, since i already bought one and hadnt used it yet. na the paint on my doors is 100% good good! after feeling it and comparing it to the other side (which i havent touched yet), you cant tell that turps was put onto it. the reflection coming off the paint is pretty much exactly the same on both sides, no dfifference in shine etc. there are only a few 2-3mm bits of goo from the stickers still remaining on the doors but thats an easy fix. couldnt see them when i was working on it last night but yea.. sunlight made it clear to see the bits i missed, so thatll b fixed tonight.
  11. hehehe yea im well aware of that! im actually training to become a highschool art teacher so yea... thats kinda why i had turps lying round the house...i know turps is good 2 dissolve oil paint off paintbrushes.. but the brushes are usually still wet when you clean with turps!? think there is a difference between dissolving and thinning.. cos i wouldnt use turps to thin oil paint... dont think it would have any effect if the paint was long dried out like the surface of my car but dont quote me on that... hehehe ugh.. that point did strike me when i read it here on the posts, but since i read that someone else did it to remove the badging i thought it was a safe way to go.... you getting me worried now! bugger! *running out 2 check my car now*
  12. na its not metho... its turps.. low odour turpendine. i havent done the other side yet... going 2 buy goo remover to get it off. i read in a thread (i thought it was this thread) that turps was safe to dissolve the double sided tape. they also said goo remover but didnt have time to get 2 wooliez to buy some. hmm.. since it wasnt this thread i read it in, which one was it???? btw my cloth didnt go red... my hands got heaps dry though :/ this morning i took a good look at it and no sign of clear coat loss or peeling? i used cut n polish to finish the job.
  13. the wife and i kinda went overboard with the debadging... took longer than expected took bout 2 hours due to the fact its only bout 13degreez outside, started running the fishingline behind the sticker round 9.45pm, then started removing the remaining goo around 10.10pm.. 10.30 my wife joined in... oh btw we only did the passenger side... gonna do the other side tomorrow coz as i said.. took much longer than expected hahaha
  14. yea i think ill just get myself one of those static strips.... id rather that then trying to remember the safest way to exit my car... i cant even dance you think im gonna remember step 1 foot out the car step 2 left hand on door step 3 bla bla bla
  15. i remember a mate from uni talking bout a prank where one p!ssed on the grille of someone they didnt like in order to foul up the smell of the aircon... urban legend or loosely based on truth?
  16. usually i jump out, plant my feet , then close the door. so i should grab the door b4 i plant my feet on the ground? is there another way to stop the static?? i mean 4 good so that i wont have to remember these dance stepz
  17. seems that everytime i get outta the car to fill er up or go anywhere... i get a nasty ***** electric shock when i grab the door to close it. is it just me or is my car trying to tell me something??? feels a bit stronger than when you get shocked by rubbing your feet on carpet & touching someone....
  18. yep totally agree - just do it yourself. i wouldnt trust autobahn though. any place that matches colour by looking it up on computer isnt going to be a perfect match. their "colourmatch" may not be perfect because your car has been exposed to the sun etc, thus your paint would be a few shades off from the factory colour. find a place that colourmatches by mixing the paint by hand, looks at the colour of your car and matches it by eye with the paint hez mixing. by memory it costs the same as autobahns colourmatch. but if you arent fussy bout a perfect colour match go 2 autobahn.
  19. my old landcruiser bundera plates ***[CRU23R]*** its still in the family... still trying 2 get dad 2 change it over to his 100series also seen [KRUZER] on another landcruiser ute... hardcore offroader... CRU222 on was it an echo or a corolla? hmm.. CRU53R - i think i saw that on a PT cruiser. seen a few other variations of cruiser on other landcruisers as well..

  21. NSW 5.30 White Corolla TTR + cannon Spotted from Great Western Highway near Westfield Parramatta all the way to Power St. Glendenning. kinda funny he was following me almost all the way home but he was in front of me!? Numberplate KUL**T
  22. Uplate update - it was 11.30 and i finally managed to persuade the fibreglass to separate from the spoiler. pics are down below. as you can see, all i did was make a fibreglass mould straight from the original spoiler. obviously i have to clean up the edges. after i make a mould of the left side and dry that out, ill add the bits thatll make it look more wingtippy. if youve watched pimp my ride and noticed the way they made custom subwooferboxes with fibreglass, im pretty much employing some of the same sort of principals to make these wingtipz. but since what i am making is smaller and in an unusual shape, im gonna have to give it some structure - thats when the chicken wire comes in. its easy to shape and mould and its probebly something youve done done b4 in highschool art class :P after that, slap on a cloth over the chickenwire, add resin + fibreglass the thing. after the basic shape is done.. i just plan on sanding it down, smoothing it out with bondo, spray on primer, colourmatch acrylic paint and clear coat it. thats basically how im going about it... ill post more pics as the project developz. jase
  23. thankx... quick update on DIY wingtips - first of all ive just learnt why its called fibreglass... bloody sharp! ALWAYS USE GLOVES AND EYEWEAR last thing you want is a splinter of fibreglass stuck in your fingers or in your eye... also.. i moulded it so well to the spoiler that it wont come off!!! hahahaa crap just gotta find a way to SAFELY cut the fibreglass free from the spoiler. (btw i havent installed my spoiler yet.. jst sitting in my garage.)
  24. good on you c-one people... im currently in the middle of making my own wingtipz... $270+ for 2 peices of plastic that really dont do much besides look different to regular corolla spoilers really isnt worth it! if your not that much of a designer or dont like to do modifications/repairs DIY or generally good with your hands then obviously your only option is to buy c-onez. on the other hand, if you are like me - not particularly afraid of experimentation, then i suggest you get yourself the following ingredientz * FIBREGLASS KIT from bunningz * acetate * new paintbrush * masking tape * scissors * chicken wire * newspaper * kitchen aluminum foil * bondo * sandpaper * old (but clean) cloth * doublesided tape or screwz (havent decided yet) can anyone tell me how the c-one wingtips are attached? * primer * colourmatch to your cars paint colour * clear coat * aircompressor & spraygun im still at the fibreglassing stage but yea... so far hasnt cost me more than 100 since i had much of this stuff lying around. of course if you have NONE of these things at home, air compressors arent cheap! primer filler, colourmatched paint & clearcoat costs round 40-50 bucks and the fibreglass kit also pushes round 35+ bucks. **********actually thinking about it now... if you dont have any of this sh!t lying around you might as well buy the c-ones, coz itll save you all this damn trouble! hahaha! ************ in any case, if anyone with c-one wingtips is able to take clear pics of their wingtips b4 they were installed, i would much appreciate it if you could post the pics up in here... atm im basing my design on the c-one websites pics which show you the basic look of the wingtipz, not how they are attached although i think i saw screws attaching it to the spoiler? are they regular screws or like racing alan key type of screws? any help with the pics are much appreciated. if all goes well id be more than happy to put a tutorial on DIY c-one style wingtipz which means you can save money by DIY. if it doesnt work.. then i aint afraid of telling people it fcuked up either. so yea... please.... help us out ay?! post your wingtip pics! as well as any manual/directions as to how they were installed! thankyou!
