  1. Ok, so you're talking about wheels not tyres. If your looking at very light weight there's a few. Weds Sport Enkei's etc. etc. the list goes on. Wheels are such a personal thing, no point in asking us all, what I like you wont. Go into a wheel retailer and pick out something you like.
  2. :( People still missed my points with previous rants, Never said they weren't good products. :) Glad your happy with your purchase, always good to see another Corolla POWER UP :D
  3. Yes, Yes that's all great, but it's being ignored. What I mean is have a pinned thread for major topics as I listed above. Intake Thread Exhaust Thread Suspension etc etc. So that people just post in these threads rather than continuously bringing up new ones as they do Works well on the 9thgen forum.
  4. So, is there a reason why he waved his hands at you or was he just generally a dumb @sshole, make sure you put his rego on to idiotdriver.com.au
  5. Bump... Can we please have this
  6. The lid on the sportivo box is slightly different BUT they use the same size filter
  7. Interesting stuff. I've seen similar concept in use on V8's with stealth twin turbo installation but never seen this used on a small engine. I was under that same understanding that you want the turbine close to the engine for better turbo response (Due to gas travelling faster when it's hotter). If these claims are true, it can only be all good. The longer distance from the turbo to the intake also means that the air would have more distance to cool down, so in theory a smaller intercooler would suffice. EDIT: Actually after reading they state you don't need an intercooler at all.
  8. At your ride height it's understandable, but is it really necessary for someone with 35mm drop ??? whats short stroke struts? Struts specifically for shorter travel/height springs
  9. Altering the stops still wouldn't have changed anything in this situation, you still would have hit them even if they were shorter because of those sudden changes in motion, Audi's are renouned for this because of the way their damping is set up. The Stops are there for damage prevention, yes you did experience a big thud, but it's metal hitting rubber, not metal on metal, in my opinion, installing shorter stops will only increase the risk of incurring damage in this sort of situation.
  10. which one did you get? I'm confuse with the american model, which one is equal the ZZE122R (1ZZFE) here? Thanks guys :) Corolla S = 1zz-fe Corolla XRS/Matrix XRS = 2zz-ge
  11. I'm a little mistified why someone would have suggested to you the need to change or trim your bump-stops. Bump-Stops are what stop your suspension components hitting the chassis/body (So if you pulled out the springs, the body would be resting on the stops). People here are running much lower than you intend, without bump stops changed and they still seem to have sufficient suspension travel. I think someone is trying to make you spend money for no reason, unless you intend to do rally driving and you need upgraded stops because of all the heavy landings you do after getting airborn ! :P
  12. They've become another Golf GTi Dealers are already quoting XR5 waiting list as March Delivery! Ford Aus is only able to get around 40 per month nationwide... If Toyota Aus is smart they can really take advantage of this... If they're smart...
  13. Have you put in the cut-down bracket at the front ?
  14. That was an Exide in dad's AE92, but that happened when I started it after a charge and the battery was dead, it completely exploded, not just smoked. The stock black topped Panasonic (As equiped with the Jap built cars) in my own car is still good after almost 3 1/2 years. What brand is the white one in the SA built cars ?
  15. CAP

    jdm THIS!

Wish I could be a wheel whore too and change according to my mood :D Me likes number 2 and 3, number 1 is nice too but look a bit too small for my taste :)
  16. I hope you have been washing ur car every evening before u have been polishing it cos it would have just gotten road grime and dirt all over it and to polish it that would just equal ScRatCheS Why dun u just do it in one go and get an even finish over the whole car?It would give a much better result !!???!! :P Car sits in the garage all week and only get's taken out on weekends (Hence only 33,000km's after 3 1/2 years) So no need to wash and no scratches on my Duco. I'm using a different paste wax, as opposed to the usual liquid wax I use, which takes longer to dry and is more difficult/greasy to remove, plus getting home 7.30 every night after work I can't be fogged spending more than 1/2 hour every night :D BTW I normally polish twice a year anyway, once just before summer and once just before winter
  17. :D Looks great. Lot's of room in those wheel arches for lots of DISH !
  18. I've been polishing my car this week in the evenings, I've done one half so far... Wait until you see the finished product, normally my car is shiny but now .... B) If you want a good shine, you can't take short cuts, only lots of elbow grease.
  19. That's the big problem - no back-up or support here. Also it's designed to run from the standard air-box, doesn't really have the provision to be upgraded with a CAI/SRI, like you said water injection is a bit of an unknown. Intercooler is next to impossible to put in because of it's design, the only kind of cooling is it's fifth injector to stop lean-out (But again, only designed to run from an airbox). So if you're looking for instant power boost and happy not to upgrade from there on, this is a good option ( You would have close to 120kw ATW) But it doesn't allow further upgrades from there on. This is where a custom Turbo set up is the better way to go.... Let's wait and see the monster that emerges from MAP81's garage... :D
  20. seems a tad slow for 240kw in a corolla - need to remove those subs and i reckon easy 12s :) Actually for a FWD car, this is quite impressive. Maybe we can get a group buy on TRD Superchargers for 1zz's :D Actually, If you read the 9th gen forums you'll find that adding a TRd supercharger along with a heavy list of other mods, you'll be running between 14.6 and 15 quarter miles. so basically its like adding lift that the stivo already has. Although i'd love ot have one on my 1ZZ just so i can keep up with Bill :P Yes :), I've been a member of 9th Gen for quite some time (I think I was the first Aussie Member? - Maybe ) and researched the shiete out of the S/C :D and come to the conclusion that it's quite good bang for buck for US residents but not for us for many reasons, primarily it would cost you over $5K to have it running, and you have no real support here for this product if something goes wrong with it. Although the S/C 1zz's aren't any quicker than 2zz cars, they're much nicer to drive than n/a because of the increased torque.
  21. I really like the styling of the Swift, looks tough, don't know much about them though. New Yaris seems quite good, never really a fan of the Jazz although it has the most versatile interior. I'd pick the Yaris on the basis it's the newest kid on the block. The others will all have replacements in the near future and depreciate quicker.

  23. Haven't made changes since last time, but what the hec. Silas, put me down as a maybe at the moment... Not sure if I can make that date yet.
  24. Or double clutch and it should slot in
