  1. Please refer to my posting http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/inde...?showtopic=6119 It will explain all. We have sold www.trdsales.com but not to Rutherford & Bond Toyota. Warwick at Rutherford & Bond is however one of the experienced TRD people the new owners will use to service the many new clients they will receive. There is no reason not to have absolute confidence in them. cheers Bruce
  2. I need to advise you all that our website www.trdsales.com and it's associated business has been sold to Toyota NZ. We, at Sollitt Trading Co. Ltd are therefore no longer agents for TRD products. Our involvement with the TRD product through our motorsport career has spanned nearly 30 years and our agency, which we've held for the past 12 years, has been a tumultuous experience. The business has grown beyond all expectations to the point where we were recently servicing over 80 countries worldwide. I'm pleased to be able to say the loyal custom we've enjoyed from many TOCA members has played a major part in this phenomenom. With the business growing on a daily basis, and realising that we were struggling to handle a significant amount of the enquiry, I was faced with the need to expand the staffing numbers and accept the associated costs in doing that. Toyota NZ, having recently rejuvenated their interest in the product, which they also are agents for, recognised the value of both our website and our ongoing business and in doing so presented me with a generous offer for the agency and the website. As many of you know, the TRD agency was never about the money for us. Our interest was in the delivery of the product at a reasonable price together with the free flow of whatever technical knowledge we could offer and the best service our limited resources could provide. I am immensely proud of the service we have provided to Toyota enthusiasts and racers, throughout the world, over the past 12 years. Clearly therefore, I would not have accepted the TNZ offer were I not completely sure of their ability to provide an equal level of service, an honest price and a high degree of technical support. In fact, having met with the TNZ team on a number of occasions I have every confidence that, with their enthusiasm and their greater resource they will surpass the level of service we were able to provide. There will be some initial handover glitches but customers should make their enquiries, and place their orders, through the website in the normal manner. As some of you have already experienced, the 'new' system is working fine. For those who have orders pending, these are being handled as they always have been and we expect to send out the last of these through our company within the next few days. For those wishing to contact me personally, please do so on bsollitt@xtra.co.nz or by pm. It's been an absolute pleasure seeing this forum grow and being of service to many of you. It is a measure of my regard for your group that we withheld placing our final order with TRD Japan so that we could include your Sportivo/TRD suspension group buy. Rest assured we are Toyota people and we're not about to either quit our motorsport endeavours or our allegance to Toyota brands. In fact we have retained our Australasian TOM'S agency. So you will continue to see us around. cheers Bruce
  3. Greek, Actually we do. We've sent a few over there already. Will pm details. cheers Bruce
  4. Things are seriously busy at www.trdsales.com and so it's been a while since I checked the forum & this thread. There's a couple of comments that need correcting that had gone unnoticed. Sollitt Trading Co. Ltd is the only official authorised agent for TRD in New Zealand and Australia outside of the Toyota dealership network. Sollitt Trading Co. Ltd holds official authorised agencies for TRD in both countries therefore, contrary to a comment made earlier in this thread, we are indeed official Australasian agents. Members should also remember that Sollitt Trading Co. Ltd's online www.trdsales.com website is a 'retail' site that sells TRD & TOM'S products to over 80 countries worldwide. The site reflects the Japanese retail price. We have always offered TOCA members discount off that price and have participated in a number of group buys which have benefitted the membership widely. Members need only tell us they are a member to qualify. We also make available freely the knowledge and expertise we have acquired in over 30 years of motorsport in various Toyota models and the intricate knowledge we have of the TRD product range from over 20 years using the product and over 10 years as one of their busiest agents. Those wishing to contact us, please note the telephone numbers and the address have changed. They are: Sollitt Trading Co. Ltd 724 High Street Lower Hutt New Zealand Telephone +64 45773502 cheers Bruce
  5. By emailing me on bsollitt@trdsales.com Rice value only? When we did the group buy on these last year almost every one emailed me immediately and reported significant improvements in handling. From our rallying experiences we know that there is an enormous amount of flex at both the top of the strut tower and at the bottom arm mounting. This item goes part way to curing that. Azza, I've never considered or discussed the possibility of the strut brace increasing torque steer. But when you think about how it stiffens up that area it's certainly feasible.
  6. Pirate, if you bought the TRD shifter from me follow these instructions. 1. Unscrew gear knob. 2. Remove screws holding console in place & remove. 3. Remove spring clips holding cable ends to shift levers (2). 4. Remove square circlips holding cables to front of shifter (2). 5. Undo bolts securing shifter to floor (4). 6. Remove shifter. 7. Reverse procedure to install TRD shifter. 8. Have beer. If you bought the shifter from somebody else. 1. Remove gearbox. 2. Sit & wonder why you didn't buy the shifter from the TRD Man.
  7. It should be higher that that when 'fresh'.
  8. I have received a limited number of replacement elbows for the TRD CAI. If you have had a problem, please contact me. If you have not had a problem, it is unlikely you will as it appears the problem has occurred through incorrect installation.
  9. A couple of points. 1. The prices you quote are for each piston. If you buy ex a Japan source you will likely have to pay 5% consumption tax (GST), inland freight and postage ex Japan. Not only is our price considerably less, you don't pay these extra 'bolt ons' when you buy from us. 2. These pistons are made for motorsport use. To run 13 to 1 compression you would need to run aviation fuel or similar (about 120 ~ 130 octane).
  10. I have spoken to TRD USA about this issue. They are looking into the matter now. I have asked for some replacement elbows. It would be good to know how many are affected.
  11. How many of you have had this problem?
  12. Sadly it's true. Sometimes I just get snowed under with email. It's easier to identify TOC members if you sent your message by PM. That way I know to answer it with priority and also we know to apply the special discount we offer TOC members. cheers Bruce
  13. Good looking car Stu. Would you like a TRD sticker for it?
  14. JDM, You are missing a number. We are +64 4 5773 502 We have many long time customers in the Caribbean. cheers Bruce.
  15. Gravityfreak, There are two types of TRD panel filters (not including the CAI). The TRD USA filter is a cotton gauze. Looks like a paper filter. This one is oiled & requires regular cleaning with the TRD cleaning formula. The filter from TRD Japan is a paper filter. This one is not oiled and is not intended to be 'washed'. It can be cleaned by air or shaking etc... This filter provides the greater flow (in our experience) & therefore the most improvement. The TOM'S filter is a foam filter. These are washable but (again in our experience) do not provide the flow of the TRD Japan filter. The TRD CAI is another story again. We are agents for all of these items in Australia should you need more help. Cheers Bruce
  16. Imek, I can't tell you anything about the Fidanza clutch but I can tell you that the flywheels from TRD & TOM'S are the same item for both cars. These respective flywheels are made for the 2ZZGE engine - not the car.
  17. The TRD USA supercharger is only for 1ZZFE. it is unlikely it will work with 2ZZGE. Presently we are trying to work out if it will work with Aussie 1ZZFe engines. there's some doubt.
  18. Interesting topic. Let me make a couple of points. TRD (& TOM'S for that matter) contract out the manufacture of their parts to a number of other manufacturers who have also their own brand. This does not mean that parts sold under the manufacturers own brand are necessarily the same as TRD. "All grass is green, but not everything that is green is grass". I have asked Paul & Stuart not to disclose prices on this forum because we supply a good many trade customers who visit this forum who may be upset to learn the level of discount we offer members. Additionally the exhange rate is very volatile at the moment and prices can change daily. It is thanks to Paul, Stuart, Craig & a couple of others that I continue to offer the service I do to this forum. As rollamods stated, we don't make a lot of money from this service but as it is my livelihood, I think I need to make some. As with any group, yours has those amongst it who will call or email for the free advice, sit comfortably in the knowledge that we'll always be here for support, yet opt for another supplier who's one off deal may be 5 bucks cheaper. If it weren't for the support of those I've mentioned, I would have ceased supporting this forum some time ago. You have a lot to thank them for. Remember the old adage " Quality doesn't cost, it pays!"
  19. No, it's not a genuine cap. here's the genuine cap. http://www.trdsales.com/shop/addprod.asp?p...1187&itemid=520
  20. I guess if you a homemade $50 item, you need only spend $50. Quality & style cost a little more. And a shift movement much closer the the std AE111 shifter. The TRD shifter comes with the nice leather knob. We've got one here in stock. If you want TRD products where should you go?.....to the agent of course.
  21. I've been trying to get my web site wizard to post that section up for months. It'll take a while to finish. Just ignore the prices at the moment. They're all over the place since we installed an automatic currency converter that detects where you are & displays the appropriate currency. We'll have it fixed very soon I'm sure. cheers Bruce.
  22. Actually TRD make both a reclining seat & a racing bucket seat.
  23. We would recommend the paper panel filter from TRD Japan. They are less restrictive and the engine revs a lot more freely. Our price for this filter is AUD$105 plus postage. cheers Bruce
  24. Well prophesised. The Yankee $$$ has risen in value considerably overnight due to their interest rate announcement. We'll keep our price on the CAI static for now if any of you are keen. cheers Bruce.
