  1. A valid opinion, although I'm not terribly fond of your implication of having a mortgage makes you a grandpa <_<
  2. If you really are set on a vehicle, one question to ask is how long you plan to keep it for. If it's a long term vehicle, I'd lean towards the IS250 as that is more practical for everyday purposes as well as a potential family vehicle whereas the 350Z is not very baby friendly. This is not taking into consideration ownership costs. I'm going by the assumption that cost is not a factor atm, which then brings the question to which vehicle suits your lifestyle better and depending on how much joy either of these cars can give, ie. if you do regular track days then the 350Z would definitely be more fun than the IS250, but if you participate in business functions regularly, then the IS250 would probably be more suitable. Exactly the reason I got one too Large enough for family as well as cheap enough to run for someone in early 20's
  3. Keep the Corolla, buy a house imo When you turn 32, you'll see the wisdom of my words ;)
  4. Very nice pics! I went today, was so packed, could hardly get in any decent pics =\ Sat in a few cars, got a PS3 towel from the GT5 race demo in the FT-86G =D, apart from that, some manufacturers were mostly handing out posters of their hero cars (Nissan GTR, Mercedes SLS etc), Holden were even giving out frisbees lol, but omg, Lamborghini were *selling* their posters for $6 each ... seriously lol ... oh also there are so many promo girls in your pics, there was hardly any today lol.
  5. If you look anything like the girl in my avatar, that should do the trick imo ;) lol on a serious note "at the Police officer's discretion" is entirely up to the officer who pulls you over at the time, if they're favourable to your cooperation and like you they may let you off, or if you're unlucky you may get an @sshole copper who'll just try and lump as much crap onto you as they can, nothing you can do. I'm pretty sure once a fine has been issued, they will only take it back if you can prove that it was given under false circumstances, otherwise they cannot withdraw it, however you can write to the RTA (NSW) and if you have a good driving record, they may waive/reduce any suspension periods but this is only after you pay the fine. If you contest the fine altogether, that's a different story.
  6. haha ic where u're going. it is, isn't it ;) Ye I called the Police first, as they issue you with a Police Report Number which u take to the RTA so they can re-issue you with plates & new rego. Then have to call insurance to update them on your new plates. Such a hassle, I don't see any way around this other than pop-riveting (or 1 way screws) all my plates instead of leaving them with the standard screws. V-FX, who knows what goes on inside the heads of these people, but if they're being used to commit a crime, I rekn the crime would probably attract more attention than the stolen plates. I don't think they'd steal it to remain incognito and below Police attention. More of a use once and dispose of item I think, than something of perpetual value.
  7. Maybe. But I don't have too much faith in the Police force for that too happen. When my mum's plates were pinched, I pop-riveted all my family's plates. But didn't get a chance to do mine yet because the car is new. I suppose I should find some consolation in that my car still has 4 wheels ...
  8. My plates got stolen yesterday! my beautiful Euro plates =( I haven't had a chance to pop-rivet them yet but I wasn't expecting them to go this quickly. My car was parked in the carport too, next to the garage. mega-sigh, have to use boring default plates now, looks so ugly on my Aurion :(
  9. Actually facelift Aurions are from Oct 09 onwards. http://www.caradvice.com.au/41995/toyota-aurion-revised-model-released-today/
  10. lol welcome! would be interesting hearing things from a salesman's perspective ;)
  11. The reviews and consumer advice pieces on CarAdvice are fairly good imo, but the comments sections are monopolized by degenerates -___-
  12. Trademarks have nothing to do with being in the same "area", the only thing is if it is registered or not. I remember reading a while ago on the Telegraph that Katy Perry was suing a dress designer in Sydney who was also called Katy Perry and was labelling her dresses as such. A record artist and dress maker have little in common lol.
  13. I'd hazard a guess and say it would need to be registered, otherwise it's just a form of a nickname that "some" people call you by. Probably would need to copyright it to claim rights.
  14. What is the stage name out of curiosity? =P sorry I can't be of further help lol
  15. Police can't really prove anything. I mean if they don't see you touching a phone while driving, they wouldn't even have any suspicion to pull you over. For all they know, you could be singing along to a song on the radio, is that illegal? =P
  16. lol nice collection of lolcats!
  17. So many technicalities lol. The facelift Aurions come with built-in Bluetooth with an answer/hang up button on the centre console. I'm assuming this answering using this method constitutes not touching the mobile as you're pressing a button on the centre console (as you would the air-con or radio).
  18. LMAO, that was a heaps mad music clip hahaha can't believe the news source ran the interview with the victim's brother rofl

  20. I thought about this too, but then most of the cheap seat covers at SuperCheap would hinder airbag deployment, and the ones that don't are not worth the $$$.
  21. Update! Only 3 days to go before Opening Ceremony! Delhi deploys 'super monkey' security guards "Delhi authorities are to deploy a contingent of langurs -- a large type of monkey -- at Commonwealth Games venues to help chase away smaller simians from the sporting extravaganza. From today, 10 langurs will be put on duty outside Games venues in the Indian capital, with the boxing and hockey stadiums seen as particularly vulnerable to monkey misbehaviour, an official said. Four of them will be posted outside the boxing complex with their handlers, while another four will patrol the hockey complex. Two have been kept in reserve to respond in the event of an emergency. Wildlife has so far posed major headaches for the under-fire organisers, with stray dogs found in venues and a snake captured at the tennis complex. After one of the strongest monsoon seasons in years, the capital is also struggling with a major dengue fever outbreak, caused by mosquitoes that breed in standing water. Fish that eat mosquito larvae have been put in the pond in the Games Village to protect athletes from dengue, a viral infection transmitted to humans by the female Aedes mosquito. Monkeys are a common sight in the verdant Indian capital, where they routinely scamper through government offices, courts and even police stations and hospitals." [http://news.ninemsn.com.au/article.aspx?id=8077614] Talk about using primitive measures <_< . God help the athletes who are being protected by 'super monkeys' and larvae eating fish. I will say this though, this Commonwealth Games will definitely be unique lol.
