  1. Or the ones with the family stickers on the soccer mum cars.... amidoingitrite? ohdamn necro thread....
  2. Welcome mate. Your best bet would be to write down the quotes you got from the 2 dealers and ring up the rest. See who can beat it, when you've got the best price from the X amount of dealers, ring back them all back again and get them to beat it... If they say they can't beat it, tell them to call you back if they can do better.. Guaranteed you'll have a call within the hour. It's a bit of hard work but for a car it's worth it in the end!
  3. Just did a station to station trip to Sydney and Back from Canberra 55L of fuel used in the total of 612km 8.99L/100km. Hit terrible Sydney traffic at 6pm =[ Never again. added: this is with BP 91. (I'm going through a stage of broke-ness, just moved interstate.)
  4. O.o where in Canberra I'll go check it out today!!!
  5. Recently drove from Adelaide to Canberra, trip total length was (rounding 15km down) 1300km, I used 1 full tank and a quarter of the next tank I seemed to manage 6.73L/100KM. (according to calculations not the car.) Click here for the route Didn't fuel up until Seymour (which is right above Melbourne) the fuel light wasn't on but wanted to fuel at a BP BP 98 Ultimate the whole trip.
  6. I reckon there will be at least a 2 month waiting list once you place your order :(
  7. Hmmm I'm stuck now.. Buying a car at the end of the year and I had my heart set on a new 2012/13 WRX premium (about 45k.) But now I look at this.... I live in ACT so the driving roads here are amazing, mostly twisties, mountains and wet... So WRX would be in its prime... But the 86 like a lot have said is such a cult car and I've always loved the 80's versions.... Damn you car industry!
  8. Aaaaannnnndddd another welcome! This time from the A to the C to the T. Enjoy your stay! If you need any help do not hesitate to ask! Great first car =]
  9. WOW that shot is sweeeeeettt!!! Haha cheers mate, the original doesn't look anywhere near as good!! But definitely my best photo to date.
  10. Just a few pics, started photography recently to so see how it goes!
  11. I've seen a thread similar on another car forum and was wondering what 'little' things people do to keep their engines running perfectly all the time... I know since it's a Toyota, and an Aurion that engine reliability isn't REALLY an issue (<3) but hey, curious anyway!! One thing I do is in the morning's or whenever I start my car up I warm it up for 30 seconds to a minute before I start driving, then granny drive (never strain the engine past 3k rpm) for the first 10 minutes until the temp is about midway. I've heard of people: Changing into neutral at stops (traffic lights etc.) Using Shift Mode for downhills (though tbh I prefer brakes?) Engine Injector Cleaner every 4 fill ups Only running 98 Only servicing at their make's servicing centre (Toyota Servicing.... Ahemm) Anyway would like to know what little things they do to keep their Aurion running great all the time.
  12. My boot thing in between the carpet and spare wheel (you know the **** made out of chip wood) has basically disintegrated and my tow bar/jack tools were all rolling around the place... I've wrapped them in an old shirt and stuffed them in the corner! Doubt it's the same issue though... Also found my fire extinguisher had exploded in my boot, easy enough to clean off the carpet though :)
  13. Another review+price and info =] http://www.caradvice.com.au/175446/toyota-86-pricing-and-specifications-revealed/
  14. Haha no worries mate, I know what you mean though.... I've been meaning to do a 'photo session' with my car for a while now (haven't since i bought it.) But when I get the time.... She's dirty as hell :(
  15. Any chance we could get some snaps of the new look? :)
  16. Only just changed mine on the SX6 the "Michellin Energy MXV8" at 76,000km. One was at 0mm, the rest had a bit of tread, kept the highest as the spare (being broke sucks.)
  17. Pfft. Didn't you read in this thread, clearly RWD = more parts and adds too much weight!!! MUCH BETTER FOR IT TO BE SUPAAA LIGHT FWD. DAMMIT!! How could I have missed this, there must be something wrong with my calculations!!! BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARDS GUYS!
  18. Dunno about you guys, but im selling my Aurion Sportivo when the FT 86 comes out >_> .... Only if it retains its RWD.
  19. Also wouldn't mind knowing people's experience here in Adelaide, I get my services and warranty stuff done at the one in the CBD(West Terrace). They're replacing my intermediate shaft tomorrow :)
  20. Hmmm yeah... I've also noticed with my iphone mount.. The windscreen is too damn long on the Aurion so no matter where I put it, it's either impractical(wires hanging out over my vision) or 3-4m away! So maybe a small GPS/satnav system isn't the best idea. I had a hunt around on ebay, found this: Head Unit Once I move places I should have the garage space/room and time to install something like this so it might be a good option. I think the thread on the FAQ is a bit old, so none of the external links/pictures work anymore! But at least the instructions are there. Thanks for the prompt response! Added: Does installing something like this void warranty?
  21. Hi Guys, New here and I've been using the "search" function which doesn't seem too popular in the newcomers, but can't find a definite answer for this. 7" GPS/Reverse Camera Setup! Can anyone let me know if that item is any good? Anyone got one? After driving a Lancer for 3 years, trying to reverse in a SX6 is becomming a challenge at the best of times, and well... I'm worried if I don't get a camera I might ruin the sexy backside of my car!!! Or if anyone could point me towards any products that are similar.. I don't think I'd have the time to do a whole head unit change+wire the camera up! Thanks guys, Sorry if this was covered in previous threads, checked search and FAQ.
  22. Only had 1 that I saw stuck in the fog lamp, otherwise it wasn't bad at all... Though when we stopped at a servo near adelaide the ground was covered in them, got a lucky run I guess! edit: covered in dead ones that is, others musn't of been as lucky!
  23. Hey, good to hear more Adelaidians joining up! :P I'm definitely in if any cruises are organized!
  24. Hey guys, Yeah thanks for that looking forward to chatting in the nearby future!
  25. Hey everyone, Just dropping in a newbie 2nd post here. Anyway a bit about me. I'm 21 years old, name's Brad. Just bought myself a 2008 Toyota Aurion Sportivo SX6 in Melbourne and drove it home to Adelaide. Love the car and of course as always, love Toyota. Looking forward to sharing some driving stories and gaining some knowledge off the old vets here on this site. Hope to meet some of you soon in the near future as well!! Anyway, I've always been bad at this, I'll add more as it comes :P Drive safe and see you all on the other side! Below are some pics I took with my ****ty Iphone on the drive from Melbourne to Adelaide.
