  1. Thanks for the reply. My concern is if I wind an inch of preload on to the springs the piston will be under 225lbs or 100kg of preassure when the wheels come off the ground. could this damage or pull the guts right out of the shock?
  2. Can I damage the piston in my koni coilovers by putting to much preload on them?
  3. Got some CWEST coilovers, I did not even know CWEST made coilovers anyways they have just been rebuilt with Koni Yellow inserts so should be good to go. come with two sets of front springs different rates. Hopping to install them next weekend.
  4. Just brought one of these http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/displayapplications.asp?partnumber=12577 Same size as stock with in a few mm but straight through and 1/4 of an inch bigger piping. Hopping it will give me what it want.
  5. Na haven't got there yet, I seem to be making all sorts of little changes and given the Camcon is a fine tuner I don't want to do it yet. Also I'm considering selling the Camcon and going standalone...
  6. Fitted the Tom's flywheel and Exedy Clutch. According to my kitchen scales it weighs 3.6Kg This was a little difficult to get back when doing the work on the driveway at home. Also installed a new clutch release bearing (not shown in the picture). All instilled torqued correctly with a torque wrench and a bit of three bond thread locker on the ARP bolts and pressure plate bolts. While I was in there I tried the shifter bearing mod, so far I like the result.
  7. So I'm ready to bite the bullet and buy a set of Koni's, I just curious are you on 'super low' or 'low' kings as I'll be buying some at the same time and I like your practical ride height. Thanks
  8. I always ran Castrol Syntrax 75w90 synthetic in my Subaru STi and now I use it in my Corolla's six speed with a bit of Nulon G70 as advised on this forum with great results. Chances are you should track down a service manual and see what viscosity oil I calls for and go with that.
  9. Replaced the gearbox oil, took it for a drive. Wheels broke loose in 2nd when hitting lift, went from 6000rpm to 8000rpm in a split second = Big smile on my face. Now driving gently to breakin in new parts like I really should. Just need an deacent exhuast to really maximize.
  10. do not wash the car.... Installed a Tom's ultra light weight flywheel 7.9lbs according to my kitchen scales and a Exedy HD clutch kit at home in the driveway what a mission. Can't wait to test drive it. Dropped a bit of gear box oil so have wait till tomorrow when I can fill it up.
  11. Hi, Does anyone have a Injen Technology Ea Nanofiber Amsoil Air filter. I'm looking for a replacement, found one on Amazon.com (http://www.amazon.com/Injen-Technology-X-1010-BB-AMSOIL-Nano-Fiber/dp/B001NF4N8Q) but I hear they actually ship the "BR" model (red in colour) not the "BB" Can anyone confirm or sell me one, Thanks. Cheers, Reliable

  13. I'm going to assume your a little passionate about Toyota's so what not get one with a 2jz or 1jz it will show a bit of your personality and as you say the conversion is already done. They are such well known engines that even in a nissan you will have no trouble finding knowledge and support you need to keep it properly maintained etc... The JZ engines are one hell of a motor and most of us modify our cars to represent who we are and what we like.
  14. To add to daniboy's comment, I have 7x17 +40 on a 2005. They fit nicely with about 12mm between the tire and front strut (heaps of room at the back). So running 7.5" would reduce that gap to about 6mm and still fit under the front guard (just) and rear with out rubbing. So based on that 7.5 +40 is the most I would run as it shouldn't cause any problems. if you want to go 8" wide I would look for +35 offset this would keep around a 6mm gap between the front tire and strut. The front guard will need to be rolled about 10mm to clear the wheel. Back will fit 8" +40 fine on my 2005. Still I would recommend 7" or 7.5" max for weight and ease of fit.
  15. Thanks, but this does not answer my question.
  16. Hi Guys, I have been browsing ebay and have come across FIDANZA FLYWHEEL and Exedy Clutch kits packaged together. e.g. http://www.ebay.com....=item23187d02c5 However, the clutch in this package is the Exedy KTY14 but in the part numbers thread on this forum it says to use Exedy TYK-7334. What it the difrence between TYK-7334 and KTY14. Cheers
  17. Just a little tip for everyone, if you look along the top of the headlight housing toyota's pretty much always have the bulb type and wattage moulded into the plastic.
  18. Took me a moment to work out this diagram, but all the pins I required matched up perfectly - good chance all the others are right too
  19. I'm going to the shop on Friday to drop off another car for a WOF, so will discuss it then. May put if off till I get the exhaust done, not sure. Will post up dyno graphs when I have them with out a doubt.
  20. Installed it running neutral settings for now until I can get it tuned. Also need to drill a hole in one of the center console pockets to hide it away. Will post Pictures when perfected.
  21. Yip this guide also applies to JDM Corolla Runx/Allex 2ZZ-GE
