    Ignition delayed

Yeh i think so. It just don't start instantly as a car would say with push button start. Warm or cold it's the same. A new battery would be another $100+ :(
  2. Thanks for the info, i might do the ecu thingy. As for the throttle cleaning, how is it done? With the oil, how did you know the dealers put in 20-50w, wouldn't they be using the oem Toyota oil which i'm sure for the Camry isn't that (or is it)?

    used Lexus?

I fail to see the difference between a 6-12 months old/demo car vs a new car except the Ks on the speedo. You get the new car smell, new car looks, new car warranty, new car everything just not new car mindset. I can't argue with the pandentic thoughts of wanting a new car it is a choice of the individual who has big walltes i will have to agree. That said i do have a car by this brand bought it with 1500Km on the odo.
  4. I know this thread is old but i'm thinking about fitting one. But i don't want to have the warranty or insurance issues. I suppose i can put the oem back but yeh have to think about it. I've done it on my other car (Lexus which was ALOT harder) than what it seems here. This is very easy to do.

You do realise buying new you would automatically lose the value of the car by $5-10K (say for a $40) between the moment you drive out of the dealer and 6months easily? Before i bought my car, a 2010 Camry Hybrid which would have costed around $35K-39K new drive away was asking for $23K (with 3.9% finance). Car was under 1 year old and only had from memory 11000km. It came with balance of factory warranty and i believe an extra 3 years dealer warrantly. Which one would you buy?
  6. Does anyone's car exhibit a slight delay in engine startup. When you turn the key to start the car the engine doesn't fireup instanatly rather you have to wait for 1-1.5sec? In my dad's MCV36R as well although his takes a tiny bit longer to kick in than mine. It's not like it's a problem but it does takes getting used to and I don't think any delay is normal.
  7. Ok now there is a clunk seemingly coming from the right side rear/boot, only happen during initial start-off. I thinkt he b-pillar noise might have gone. Weird.
  8. I feel the readings on the car is far from being accurate. My tivo (the model before the 09 tuning for better fuel consumption) reads between 11-12L/100km which is far from the 9.9 stated by Toyota. however what i find was when i took the car on the freeway it drops down to 10L/100km (took a freaking long time to do so too) AND it remained around there even during city driving. Have tried 91, E10 and 95 RON but cannot find any difference in the readings. Luckily for me, the joy of driving my car leaves little to complain about fuel.

    2012 Camry

I was more thinking it needs a couple of thumbsticks to go with the D-Pads.... I am not really liking the alloy wheel design. Looks like something from circa 1988, and definitely will be re-done in the 2014 facelift. I think the steering wheel is okay.

I'm not really liking the steering wheel, for some reason it looks like it belongs to a small hatchback.

    used Lexus?

Not sure why age and number of kids would affect a choice between an '05 LS430, say, and a new Camry (?). Simply as i have observed, Lexus from the GS up is targeted for the older citizens, most so in a LS model due to it's costs. It is not what i would called a daily driver due to size especially if you live in the busy areas. All the creature comforts and plush leathering would most likely favour the old. If you are in your 20s or on your Ps driving an LS430 wouldn't suit in this regards.

Without a doubt the 2004+ LS430 for $40K with around 60,000kms would be a better buy than a new aurion BUT i would think about the following: 1) Is the car going to be a daily driver? 2) Are you mid aged and have 2-3 high school kids?
  14. There is a tut for what you want i think....
  15. yo im down , sydney here !! lol HNY mate, if you can get the unit you want but not confident on installing i know a guy who can do it, he does mine (but a different unit). He's actually a supplier of units too.
  16. I heard about no limits on the rear but in NSW that might not be legal. The only tint i can get is 35% for legality and maybe insurance reason. I'm still not sure cos i fancy a TEINs drop more at the moment (but thinking if i can lied to insurance saying i got it done before the new rules in 2009 requiring engineering cert. or not). As for the cracking after a while, it doesn't do it on my other car.

    Calling 6th Gen-ers

Would love to see some pics of the two shades of silver together. I didn't think the startoff was slow if anything it was responsive and that's probably the only time it was quick (taking off in 1st). I find the rev to be hard to go past 4500rpm when i give it a bit, but the speedo picks up ok. 1. Aem - 07 Silver Sportivo - Sydney 2. 2XS - 07 Black Sportivo - Brisbane 3.
