    2012 Camry

Definately a surprise, more so a mystery that it's non-adjustable.

    Has to be another way.

But did you have a look at the headrests yourself?

Ok i'm getting to annoyed with the so called abs 'clunk' sound from the rear springs area when ever the car starts. It's definately nothing i put in the boot so i don't know what else it can be. Does anyone have a remedy for this sound, would a change in bump stopper/springs help?

What model doesn't have the rear seat headrest go up and down? The tivo's does! Anyway the rear seat isn't as important as the front two. It's not everyday that you drive your car from the back seat lol.

What is active head constraints? Currently on my car, if i rest my head against the headrest my head tilts back too much and am not able to drive comfortably.

By adjustable, does it go forward and backward. Up and down only is not adjustable imo.
  8. You might as well get the Altise's, i doubt the Grande is any different. For me the sportivo springs are firm and doesn't give that boaty ride around corners.
  9. "Currently, a car can be raised or lowered by up to five centimetres without approval and by up to 15 centimetres with approval." That was current in 2009 lol, not current as in 2012. So effectively 0-5cm drop is legel provided you get RTA approved engineer cert.
  10. http://www.drive.com.au/editorial/articledetail.aspx?ArticleID=64337&vf=1 From August 1, 2009 it comes into effect so any car beyond this date. Ours are 2007 so we might be able to argue it was lowered when we bought it but then again where's the proof?
  11. @svd, the manual will not cover you, it's the placard that will. I rang RTA and spoke to a couple of people for second opinnions and they say you can only go 25mm wider than the largest offerring on you car as stated on the placard. If the Ateva has 16x.6.5, you can only go x 7.5 wide. Other car forums also states it needs to be stated on the placard also. Btw, lowering a car to any amount now requires an engineer's certificate. Don't get me wrong here man, I'm not trying to talk you out of modding lol, just thought you should know but then again you're not alone so do what you want i guess.

Yeh it's sweet. Although i wished it was vtec too.

vvti don't have that "kick" that v-tec has.

    Don't you mean v-tec?
  15. Well i didn't meant it like 0-60 in 5.6 seconds. Lining up with a Corolla accent and normal taking off from red light (not flooring it) i feel the camry needs to do more work to get ahead of the Corolla.

When i accelerate, the exhaust sounds loud like it has a 3 inch mid pipe installed. My car is stock!
  17. Those with 19s or more, wouldn't the bigger wheels be heavier for the car and so would impact acceleration?
  18. aem

    Calling 6th Gen-ers

    Yep, stock exhaust. It growls.

Is anyone else's 6th gen exhaust loudish, and restricted interms of rev-ability?

If you prefer a mod'd car, an engine swap might be better than buying another car. It's all about modding.

Aurion engine swap will fix the horsepower issue.
  22. Some belt might be on the way out?
  23. Not relevant. I read somewhere that the minimum is counted from the dealers' optional package.. So say with sportivo based line model, 16s, dealers offer 18s with extra $$. Then 18 it is. That is correct however it must be stated on the placard. You can go 26mm wider over the largest dealer fitted options but it must be stated what the options are on the placard. Without requiring engineer certificate. Eg. The Is250 Prestige has stock 16s but on the placard it states 16x7s, 17x8s, and 18x8, 18x8.5s are fittable to the car. So technically an Is250 owner can fit max 9.5in wide wheels, and not more than 19 inch in diameter (actually it's suppose to be up to 15mm which is only 18.6 inch but that is not possible). http://www.rta.nsw.g.../vsi09_rev4.pdf I don't have an Ateva so i don't don't know what the placard reads but on the Sportivo it only has 17s stated. I doubt it states 16, 17 ad 18s on the Ateva. Double checking Sportivo ....
