  1. Looking at the temperatures... It'll have to be my cup of hot chocolate :P
  2. I still feel he had the correct speed (maybe slightly slower would have been better though I agree), but he still needed a different, less dramatic approach and slighly more conservative line.
  3. watch it again then... he turns around before he is even at the corner. It's all lift off oversteer and aquaplaning.
  4. he didn't go in too hot at all... it was just a kink, not a corner. There are guys standing in the middle of the track up the alternative road (that looks like a corner) so I doubt that section was open. He simply was acuaplaning and tryed to turn, found there was no grip on the front, tryed to turn more, suddenly the tyres grip a little and around you go. It's all too common. Add to that a little lift off oversteer too. He was just damn unlucky with the position of the barrier. But more lucky that he just glanced it and bounced off then hit it direct.
  5. if that's the gain you have ONLY from what hou have done to date... the next stage will be AWESOME!!! great work Bill, you're building up a monster there :D
  6. Correct... much more dramatically then Greg did too... Stock I had 115.0 After CAI I had 119.8 After CAI and Exhaust I had 119.8 (but a very different shape and run in 3rd instead of 4th) After 6 months and no more mods I had 115.3 (again in 3rd gear, not 4th) all of them cannot be comparatively compared with any form of accuracy as they were all done on different days even though it was at the same place on the same dyno.
  7. I had exactly that happen to me at the last Wakefield Park day I went to. It was wet in the morning and I just aquaplaned off at the turn 1 kink. Luckilly there is heaps of run off at Wakefield and I didn't hurt anything other then the grass. It just aquaplaned Zee... he needs better tyres
  8. I believe the issue with the CES CAI has now been rectified by a reducer being fitted around the MAF sensor. Unfortuately because this particualar unit was sold outside of Queensland it was never rectified. As Danz has stated though, I haven't every heard of anyone having these problems with an AEM, Injen or TRD CAI.
  9. There's an instruction and installation manual somewhere for the K&N short ram intake that I found the best for removing all the air box things. The diagrams were clearer then the AEM one. Installing it is no drama. The biggest issue is getting the pipe lined up with the joiner on the throttle body as once the pipe is on place there is not much room to move, so it can take a little bit of force. When installing the one for NIKICH we found it easier to have 2 people when you fit the pod too. One to hold the pipe in place and the other to twist and push the pod on securely. Also as far as blocking the pipe off that Danz is talking about. There is a rubber cap on the stock airbox (closing of the same line that we don't use in our cars) that you can transfer directly across to the pipe.
  10. A few of the SCR people are keen for the drive still which is great after they were only up there last weekend for Autosalon. The pizza idea is awesome if it can be aranged :)
  11. That Asus box looks pretty nice Corey. I've been looking at cubes and they are all too bulky for where I want to stash the thing, I have contemplated doing an MDF install, but realised it was too much of a pain in the *****. Nice compromise. :)
  12. that's where you are wrong... the best looking pizza delivery car is the one on it's way to my place :D
  13. it means if you want to optain and open CAMS lisence, a requirement to compete and race at State and National Levels, you already have the requred piece of paper to say you have passed the test.
  14. hi there ...i dont mean to be rude...but here in south africa...we fall into lift from 1st gear to 2nd gear.. and most of the time when we race turbo cars like the gti golf 5 then we are infront atleast by a car.. currently im driving a runx rsi 2006 model but stock std. but my previous one 2006 model had a decat done and i ran a godd friend of mine,he drives the ford fucos st. 225. belive it or not the runx sat a fender in front 4/5 races.. first 2 we went on a roll..i was infront..the next 2 we went launch and i was also a fender infront... so these engines in std form they are excellent in my opinion..i know its not as much fun drivin a turbo car but i takes alot of turbo production cars of the track.. just my 2c ;) hi Jeremy... don't mean to be rude, but have you read the rest of the topic where it explains he has it connected to an MR-S 5 speed gearbox instead of the usual six speed. The engine is mounted into the back of an MR-S, not a corolla or celica. The fact the standard MR-S 5 speed bax has an LSD already in it is the advantage... The fact the 2nd gear (and subsequent gears) are longer is the big disadvantage.
  15. Northy the screen is very lovely, but is there any information on the box that's contolling all the goodies?
  16. Carbon Fibre brake pads do not work properly until heated up, that's why they are dangerous. If you drive your car hard all the time, fine, but for everyday driving they are not suitable.
  17. Looks like a great display Dan. Congrats on the trophies :)
  18. would you like some toast?
  19. Yeah agreed. On the off chance he did want a Sportivo they can be picked up 2nd hand some of them for $20,000 - $24,000 now with relatively low k's. The Germans and Japanese have been the two driving forces in car manufacturing. Safety, performance etc etc. The majority of the German cars are pretty expensive to service as are parts, but by *** they are reliable many of them. except for Mercedes... ranked one of the lowest for customer satisfaction and return to base servicing fixes.
  20. Guys there are only are certian number of these kits that TRD pump out each month so we are limitted by this. The 1st shipment is what they currently have in stock and the remainder are those that are yet to be produced. This is how I understand it anyway. You will get your part in due course, but for this it's a case of 1st in best dressed I'm afraid. It's not our fault ar the suppliers, but purely the small numbers that TRD make of this particular unit. My understanding is that they are actually producing more then the norm of this unit just to fill our order (normal being ~5-10 units a month)
  21. u being serious bro? with the height ur car is atm, of cos ur car's gonna rub bro with those profile of tyres dats hektic yO... i rub on 205/50/16 with my height <_< You must run seriously low man because I've had no scrubbing what so ever with my 205/50 R16s with a 620mm guard height (1.5 fingers) even at the track.
  22. as Dennis said the speck stivo rims are 16 x 6, 4 X 100, E +45 for 16 inch rims an offset from 42-45 is fine to a 7 inch wide rim, for a 17 inch get as close to 45 as possible because +42 has been known to scrub. that all depends on the offset Steve, as has been noted :)
  23. Corey that looks fantastic :) I'll be calling you for tips in due course ;) ps I'm looking at a flip LCD touch screen
  24. me!!! :D I'd be up for a Red Dwarf athon at any time :) ***saluted with a 1/2 Rimmer***
