  1. I love my Stivo, but theres no way in hell it would keep up with a SS or XR8, sorry, unless they aren't even trying. Its better to compare it to a six. go out to WSID or Wakefield Park and you soon learn otherwise ;) and he did specify auto, not manual ;)
  2. sorry to disappoint you but that WAS just with CAI... running on Caltex Vortex 98 we have been also considering a few cars travelling to the various state Dyno days to calibrate the various results to some extent, don't look at the results from one Dyno to another as any sort of indication of anything...
  3. Sorry about that man, you went off in front of us and pulled into the Maccas just on the Camden Valley Way intersection, just where our cruise really started... Who'd have thought we could find twisties between Villawood and Penrith ;) Great night out at aqua golf though, we should do a bit more of the social things to between the big cruise meets, it was a great night all up :)
  4. Guys, if we are going to Aqua Golf we are leaving at 9:30 SHARP!!! It'll take some time to drive there ;)
  5. :o :o it's come home!!!! I'll be seeing you on Saturday for updates ;)
  6. Perhaps your 0.7 second improvement in time came about as a result of your improvement as a driver - not to mention external factors eg. temperature. Anyone have any hard evidence rather than estimates? last time I went it was 16 degrees, this time it was 22 degrees so it wasn't temperature. The best time I made last time was 15.21 and that was with CAI alone that many people strougle to match with just that... so I don't think it's improvement as a driver either... I've been driving 11 years mate and had 3 years to learn the Stivo top to tail... it's not that!!! plus here's a sportivo example of what the AEM CAI does... before 115.0 after 119.8
  7. from what I read you replace the MAF sensor with this resistor and it supposedly makes all the difference... I'd rather stick with the sensor that at least knows when something is slightly amiss...
  8. that Ferrari was Awesome... it was his wife's car and he told her he was just going out for a bit ;) but it was leaking a cr@p load of fluid after the burn-out
  9. the gains speak for themselves on the track. My car from just CES exhaust and AEM CAI (that is ~$1300 worth as a combination) has gone from a 15.5 car to a 14.8 car down the 1/4 mile, and you ask if it's worth it? I would also estimate ~8-10 kw gain with this combination (regardless of the choice of CAI, being TRD, AEM or Injen). Around Wakefield Park there is also a noticale difference in the drive I get out of the corners.
  10. Awesome work guys... I'd have to look at the possiblity of staying a couple of nights in Albury for the next one ;) what was the deal with Brian taking the headlight out though? extra cooling?
  11. [syd] Red Sportivo (pre-facelift) spotted in Heathcote Road heading towards Heathcote on the hill near Illawarra Road Turn off... 3:45pm on 22nd March ie yesterday I was heading the other way :)
  12. FFS Brendon the AEM is the SAME diameter as the TRD one!!!! And also... have you got Dynos to PROVE these statements... as you ran on a Dyno with all this research I'm sure you have some info available to show us.
  13. there are photographers at the track Badger Photography Cackling Pipes
  14. If you are looking around $100 you cannot go passed the Bendix Advance pads. I was quoted $86 for them but chose to stick with the Toyota ones for now. For track pads you are looking at more like $250-$400 depending on your choice...
  15. The respect of those commodores who couldnt crack 16's .... yep, Justain sure shut them up when he told them my time
  16. just noticed on your slip that the speed was recorded @ 109.52 over the line not taking anything away from your time as it all looks find there, it's just I found the trap speed to be wierd... looks like something real dodgy was going on on the left track that day...
  17. There was a bit of light drizzle as they were packing things up but with the track temp @ 34 degrees it was evaporating pretty quickly so didn't effect anyone. I drove home through torrential rain though and then realised I forgot to put the fog-light back in after I took it out for my final run to see if I could up that top speed... I wanted Dave's record sooo bad with the starts I was getting... laying down 2.3 60' all night :)
  18. found Bangn's slip 14.89... I'm 2nd fastest in Australia :D :P :P :o :o :o Link to Bangn's time slip
  19. Yeah, down a little on termainal speed compared to Dave's run. Good to see there is a little bit of room there... though next time out it will be with different tyres, I think the old stockys are now well dead after the burnouts I was laying down to get heat into them. :P I also didn't lower the pressure too much I was @ 29-30 psi when cold
  20. well, I've beaten Craig's time (with a stock clutch and flywheel too ;) ) I'm not sure of Bangn's time but I'm now clearly the 2nd fastest in NSW anyway... Until a certain person FINALLY gets his butt in gear and gets out to the track on time... with a helmet
  21. that's it... this weather is unpredictalble, but too nice and cool to pass up... I'll try and be there as close to 5pm as possible ;)
