  5. found that lite 6's weigh 7kg so lite 7s should be similar :)
  6. I thought it was the other way around because it's a close ratio 6 speed box
  7. Hopefully Speedy OZ brings out these some of these ones here soon... Speedy Wheels USA you should check out the 'Hi-Speed Racing' rims :D :D :D I suggest giving Speedy a call and seeing what they say. EDIT: forgot the link
  8. My rims are called 'StarCorp Racing lite 5s', they are made in China, and bought from Tempe Tyres and weigh about 6kgs... no secret man, it's all in the garage section ;) The 1st time I was looking to upgrade my rims (before I got the CAI and CES) I saw them and fell in love with the look then and there, but they were only available in 5x100 / 5x114.5 stud pattern at the time :( Glad I waited now :D

    Tyre Wear

My stock tyres have done just over 30,000 km's (that was when I upgraded my rims) and 2 track days. They should still be good for one more... They take a beating they way I drive then at the track too ;) The touranza's have a good lifetime on them I'm actually quite impresed. Near the end of their life they actually feel like there is mre grip on the track with them as the block movement is reduced. The wear pattern from the last track day look far better to the first time I went out... but that could also be due to runing with a better tyre pressure too <_<
  10. Suspension geometry with a sidewall of that size camber differences are very unforgiving, so for performance running, you need the camber and castor set up perfectly, or else the tyre wear will be very inconsistant. Justin, these were the ONLY light weight 16 inch wheels I could find that I liked at a cheap price. Most of the Japanese names have light weight 16" rims that you may be able to find at a good price 2nd hand, but expect to pay big $$$ for them new. I'd personally suggest that you get light weight 17's for your car as they are comparible in performance to the 16's and look better (I'm regretting actually not getting the 17's of my design). I can recommend the Speedy Lite 7's in 17"... I've always liked them but chose to go 16" in the end. I haven't seen anyone get chrome lite 7s, but they would look HOT on your white car, but would be hard to keep the brake dust off of... Black would be the other choice!!!
  11. Give it a couple of weeks for the ECU to settle down into a new consistant map and see how it is feeling then. I felt the same when the CES was put on mine but after a while when the car settles down it starts to feel great... anyway, how's the sound compared to the old one... I want to see pics of my baby's new home :) :D
  12. Wakefield park doesn't provide much advantage for horsepower being a tight circuit, it's all about the suspension. As Zee stated, Hondas have double wishbones and fully independant rears so stock vs stock of course they will show better times there. The weight difference is also a big thing at Wakefield into the breaking zones especially. I notices another time we were out there that we were kicking the @rses of some Monaros with the biggest gain being into the breaking zone , but it's also imprtant in our cars to carry the speed out of the corner too, and get on the revs early... tis is where the stivo, with someone who knows how to use the gearing to it's full advantage, really comes into it's own (as with VTEC also for the Hondas) But he was asking about the 1ZZ corolla... and IMO I would say you would expect to get ~1:20-1:22 in close to stock trim.
  13. it wasn't it was an operator input error... If you look at the speed on the bottom Axis you will notice that it's in 4th :P
  14. it is interesting when read in combination with this http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/inde...?showtopic=3737 and this http://www.mg.co.za/articlePage.aspx?artic...ls/new_reviews/
  15. I will point out that we were all on street tyres too... I know your friend has semi-slicks so don't start!!! :P Curious as to what suspension he has though. That's not a bad time. Zee and I have virtually stock suspension and Dave has Koni Adjustables, which are moderately firmer but not in the coil over league. We were also dodgilly hand timed on my stopwatch in car. I was just giving an indication of some times, this was not a competition of what is better...
  16. I've been analysing my dyno results today trying to work out the whole torque issue at low RPM... my personal view is that it is not too bad but others feel that they have been ripped off in that department. What I noted was this... using the red curve as my baseline and the blue curve as the one with CAI 1) if you assume the max torque to be 180Nm for my stock curve, then the max torque for my CAI curve is ~187Nm 2) the max torque on the low cam @ ~4000RPM is ~170Nm stock and ~177Nm with CAI 3) @ ~2500RPM (the flat bit at the start @ 60km/h) there is ~160Nm for both 4) the to torque 'hole' @ 6000RPM drops to ~157Nm and that is with the CAI, without it is @ ~153Nm now comes the tricky bit... firstly for the Stock curve @ ~2500 we have 88.9% of the max torque available to us @ ~4000 we have 94.4% of the max torque @ ~6000 we have 85.0% of the max torque available For the CAI curve @ ~2500 I have 85.6% of the max torque available @ ~4000 I have 94.7% of the max torque @ ~6000 I have 84.0% of the max torque available
  17. on our recent trip (Screaminrolla, Zeerolla and Myself) we were getting times between mid 1 minute 17s to 1 minute 20s. A consistant pace at mid 1:18 was the most common... this is in the Sportivo though...
  18. K-Mart on Anzac Highway (friday nights) was the place to be when I was still in Adelaide, though the police were cracking down there. Hungry Jacks and Maccas on West Terrace are good places too friday and sat nights... if you're into that kinda thing...
  19. yep, sounds pretty simple to me...
  20. :D I like the sound of all of those... I need a larger garage (actually just a garage would be a good start!!! :P ) and a larger pay packet :P
  21. handbrake only lock the rear wheels... It's how you do furry sik burnouts in a FWD
  22. track 3 = Brands Hatch = :D :D :D :D :D
  23. pics are in post #53 if you cannot see then, try another browser (IE6 works fine)
  24. I believe Dave is the only one of the sub 15 cars on 17s (that I can think of) Craig, Wei Wei and Northy all run 16s
