  1. Over the last week I finally serviced the sportivo, bought a new head unit and decided to change the gearbox oil etc etc.... I especially want to thank Kenshin for his DIY gearbox oil change guide, and also the forums for the wealth of information to help upgrade the stock headunit and work on the car without a workshop manual :) just a quick thanks to all it's been extremely useful :) cheers, Dave
  2. GODDAM insurance companies.... I had an at fault accident last year.... paid the excesss etc etc, insurance company paid for repairs to the car, however for some readon they called policy at the time they did not pay the claim for the hire car the other driver decided to use. they told the driver(via other insurance company) to contact them directly regarding payment. to cut a long story short the other insurance company paid the hire car claim, then went and told their lawyers to get the money out of me, I then find out... much much later, they have sent the letters of demands etc to my old residential address (which the other driver copied off my licence, I specifically told him the correct address was on the back) So now that they cannot get in touch with me they submit a court judgement to claim costs, so what started out as a sum of $246 has now tripled to $680 and a dirty mark against my credit record - yes these judgements are registered on your credit record. I wont write up what you have to go through to get that removed, but it involves paying the money, plus another $100 or so in costs to try and get it removed. I hope this makes sense to certain degree it still pisses me off big time, as I am still sorting it out!
  3. The engine on my car was starting to get dirty, I decided to clean it, and ended up spending most of last weekend cleaning & detailing the car (inside and out), including an oil change
  4. Hey Charms, As conquest has pointed out this vulnerability will not affect your system (assuming your running windows Xp), This popup message has been displayed due to a some malicious code trying to visit your system and your internet security/virus software is making you aware of this. here is a paragraph I found on a security bulletin from Trend Micro regarding this warning message. IMPORTANT NOTE: This detection is not a detection for the vulnerability of your machine. If you got this warning, it is an indication that a malicious piece of code passed through your network or your machine, but was detected by Trend Micro as MS02-039_SQL_SERVER_RESOLUTION_EXPLOIT. if you wish to disable these messages here are some further instructions on how to do so, just be aware this will stop all warning messages from being displayed. Disabling Network Virus Emergency Center Pop-ups If you have already patched your system, and want to turn the pop-up messages off, please refer to the following Knowledge Base solutions: * For PC-cillin Internet Security 2005 Users: <a href=http://kb.trendmicro.com/solutions/solutionDetail.asp?solutionID=22606>Knowledge Base Solution ID 22606</a> * For PC-cillin Internet Security 2004 Users: <a href=http://kb.trendmicro.com/solutions/solutionDetail.asp?solutionID=22608>Knowledge Base Solution ID 22608</a> Note: Disabling the network virus pop-up display option means you will not be alerted for ALL network attacks to your system, not just this particular exploit attack. I'm not sure what trend software you are using SO i have included all the information that might be relevant and at least helpful. As to why your internet is stopping, I can only do some basic troubleshooting and guessing. also, to ensure your PC is upto date with the microsoft patches, check that the windows update service on your PC is set to automatic. I hope this will be helpful!

  7. I play 1 or 2 times a week, a fri night usually, and with some friends, though this is depending on what shift my work has me on, unfortunately this week, night shift. So no wow'ing on fri night
  8. I suffer from the same rattling noise in my tivo as well, though sounds more like one thin metal pipe rubbing up against the firewall, I still havent tracked it down, but it is intermittent at low revs upto and including 4000 rpm this will be something I will get toyota to sort out, or when I get the s**ts enough to go and spend time looking for it, and thats getting close to that point now, its the only rattle I need to worry about it. but its at that pitch thats really annoying to me.
  9. I just got off the phone with justcars and asked for a quote on an 05 sportivo etc Stock comes in at $1275 though that will go up a little if you make modifications. the only thing I balked at was the $1100 excess for any accident you might be responsible for, (breakdown: $600 std nsw set price, $500 for having a car that falls into the more risk category) <<---- that may change on the type of car you have. I was told over the phone that unlimited modifications can be made, just as long as they are legal and roadworthy, and of course. The policy is agreed value of the car (what your purchase price is/or what its worth now etc) anyhow just thought i would share those details.
  10. Well I'm with GIO, 37yo, stock sportivo, and paying $1130 thereabouts, 60% NC but i had a prang in august, so that may have made it a little more expensive.
  11. I just transferred to NSW plates from Victorian, total cost 12months rego + stamp duty was $920 thats not including the blue slip & green slip you can safely say its going to be 3% of the purchase value of the car. one of the easiest ways the government makes money *grumbles*
  12. just checked my roster, I'd lean more toward the 26th, as i just found out i'm working nightshift on the 19th grrr, anyhow will play it by ear and see what which date is chosen.
  13. Yeah, I have a mic/headset to use, I need to try out the newlaptop and see how it goes sometime, i use skype and msn anyhow, as long it works well
