  1. I'd like to say that all this info is very encouraging. Nice to know that the sportivo can beat a mini cooper s and clio sport ! I would have thought the cooper s would have won (is this rear wheel drive) ? Usually front wheel drives suffer too much understeer on quick launches. Well done Ilivefor6.
  2. I felt the same way after I sold my ae82 twin cam corolla after owning it for 12 years. A few days after getting a sportivo - you'll forget her. I'm still trying to get use to the power mirrors, power windows, 6 cd stacker, climate controlled air con and the leather faced firm seats and last but not least - the power. :D
  3. Can I ask how much you all paid for the trd cai and where you bought it from ? Penrith Toyota ? Cheers, Bit.
  4. Yep, the manual that comes with the sportivo says 2000 kilometres for running in. My dealer says 5000 kilometres but hey I can't wait that long...
  5. I haven't noticed any other probs apart from rattling noise behind dash in 2-3 gear and noisey brakes during reversing. LCD screen is fine. Paintwork is fine. As far as petrol consumption is concerned, I have noticed that it uses a lot more petrol than a 1.6 but that's expected. I'm not fussed about petrol usage anyway - if it can deliver 141 kws then let it be. I've already got two scratches on the rims for parking too close to the footpath in an effort to not get my right side mirror from being taken off in a narrow street.
  6. Thanks for the information. I'm looking at it from a warranty perspective, and figured if you've got a trd one toyota won't void your warranty - but hope they don't change it to a paper one during services. Anyone thought of strategically drilling a hole in the bottom of the standard air box and attaching some flexi-hose for a cheaper alternative to cold air induction ? I'm sure it could be all hidden away and only noticeable once you remove the panel filter.
  7. Yep. Couldn't agree with you more. Everyone does want a race with you at every set of lights. So far I've noticed a cordia turbo, pulsar sss, laser tx3, older corollas - they just gun it at the lights but unfortunately I'm still running in the engine and haven't seen anything above 4000 rpm.
  8. I'm getting the same things happening like everyone else, rattling noise in the dash, noisy brakes during reversing. Just hope it can be fixed in the 1000k service. This car makes me happy. :D
  9. Sounds like the guy doesn't know how to drive, or pulled the hand brake going around the round about. Most young folk put supercharged 4agzes into the old corolla, and those things are damn fast - could easily take on a 2zzge in my opinion.
  10. Hi, Just wondering if anyone has tried the TRD panel filter in the standard air box. I just want to get some feedback on what sort of power gains/induction noise they get (if any) from switching over to it as it will be the only mod I do for the sportivo. :)
  11. Personally, the biggest I would go would be 2.25 inches. I had a 2.5 inch mandrel bent system in my ae82 4age twin cam and the noise from it was unbearable in the cabin when driving on freeways not to mention that I got pulled over by the cops for the noise. Bit Racer.
