  1. Thanks for the offer peekay. Unfortunately I need to keep working on convincing the mrs. She says no mods till warranty is over :( I said, I could buy it and put it aside because the dollar is so strong. She says - whats the point - buy it 3 years down the track. I say - it may not be available 3 years down the track. She says - you could be driving a different car down the track. I envy the single lifestyle that most of you all have.
  2. Yep. You sure do get the unlocks and stuff with medium and easy levels. I just wish I had a steering wheel, cause using an xbox controller to control a car just doesn't feel right. I haven't had this much fun since playing colin mcrae rally 2.
  3. xtigerx: Here it is As for delivery, I didn't ask but figured if they're using UPS, then it should be quick.
  4. The red actually looks quite nice - sort of like a candy apple red rather than the usual bland toyota centre red. My last car was red, so this one had to be blue.
  5. Just got a quote for $205 + $60 UPS delivered to Sydney which works out to be $345 Aussie with 0.76 exchange rate. Now that's got to be good. :D
  6. I've got the dark blue one - only had to wait 5 weeks for it. And no I didn't get any paint protection, rust protection or leather protection, but you should have heard the young lady that was trying to sell it to me. She was trying really hard and giving me the 'if you buy today I'll give you a good discount'.
  7. Thanks for sharing. Did you need to make any mods to the chassis so as to get the air filter to fit in behind the front spot light or it doesn't reach that far ?
  8. I use those dirt cheap i-media cdrs from strathfield car radio - seems to work okay for me.
  9. If you look at the brochure it says "Leather faced seats" - so partial leather ?
  10. There is the option available to take your car to a different dealer and they will still maintain your new car warranty. Although the dealer that sold you the car would prefer that you have it serviced at their dealership. This was mentioned to me when I bought my sportivo. It would be downright silly if you moved say from Campbelltown to Bondi Junction and had to bring your car to campbelltown toyota for a service now wouldn't it ? Incidentally, when I test drove the sportivo it had 254 kms on it, and the vibrations in the dash were so annoying that I thought it was just the test vehicle only.
  11. My car gets serviced at Clintons toyota in Lakemba, they also have a branch out campbelltown way. They have a work around that fixes the vibrations in the dash. I'm happy - car drives better than when I got it new. :D
  12. Can you get pulled over by the cops for having them on with no fog ?
  13. $31500 drive away with tint, weather shields, head light covers, bonnet protector, floor mats.
  14. Just picked up my car and all the problems have been fixed. :D Apparently they use some rubber to dampen the gear selector cables vibrations so no need to change them for new ones. I'm glad there is a solution even though its a design problem.
  15. I've just started to play this on the xbox, and I got to say I'm quite impressed with it for a car game especially the street drags and drift tracks. Much better than midnight club II in my opinion. I selected the toyota celica with the 2zzge engine and when you hit 6000 rpm the tacho really heads towards red line quickly like the real thing. This game is foolly sik.
  16. Took my car for the first 1000 kilometre service today for the vibrating noisy dash, and handbrake adjustment. Funny thing was that the dude at the service desk asked if I had modified it with for example 17 inch wheels - I said no its stock standard. I get the impression that he was going to void my warranty or something... if I did. Anyway, hope they can fix the annoying vibration noises - that's what really concerns me at the moment. Bit.
  17. I have found that the vibrations in the dash come gradually - Mine started off barely noticeable, but now is progressed to an irritating level that you can really notice it as it competes with the radio. I contacted toyota australia about it and got a reply that there won't be a recall on the vehicle to have it fixed, and that we should report it to the dealership who will then log the problem with toyota technical services.
  18. Good stuff. Let us know whether the strut brace makes any difference. Also where did you get it from ? What about the TRD sticker on the rear windows good for 5hp. :) :D
  19. Ilivfor6, thanks for the reply and helpful information. I guess I got to get myself an angle grinder of some sort to make those minor adjustments. Cheers.
  20. Blackrolla, If you want to get people to race you, just stick on that massive TRD sticker on the back window. Good for 5hp. :) :)
  21. Can someone tell me what the subtle differences are with the Matrix XRS CAI (Injen, TRD, AEM) and the Corolla Sportivo. I noticed on top of the standard air box there is some sort of sensor held with two phillips head screws, and at the back of the air box there is a vacuum hose of some sort. These obviously need to be re-plumbed back into the CAI. So I was wondering if the CAI piping allows you to connect all these things up to it, and if so, are the hoses or mount points the correct size etc... The photos for the AEM one don't seem to show where you can plumb the sensor into the pipe. But the Injen and TRD seem okay. Sorry for all the questions, its just that I need to do some prep work before placing an order for one and want to be sure that it's going to fit without too much hassle. :o
  22. Thanks for the info illuminati. :D I'm going to do what other people advise here and that is to save up for the CAI instead. Can cops defect you for having a pod filter in NSW ? I heard this from somewhere but don't know if its a rumour or not.
  23. I actually would consider it after 3 years when the warranty runs out but would do it in stages. I would get either a CAI or panel filter, followed by stainless steel muffler, then the computer upgrade. I won't be changing extractors because I think they make the engine bay look **** particularly if they are just chrome painted mild steel ones where the chrome paint peels off after a few weeks due to heat. Stainless steel ones are a different story though.
  24. I'm actually over alarms - these days they don't attract too much attention anyway. I put two in my previous car and found that sooner or later the heat gets to them and they either no longer work, become faulty or false alarm all the time. Even though I had the alarm him the thieving bastards didn't care and did a smash and grab through the rear window to take my 6x9s + rear parcel shelf. So I'm staying with the standard immobiliser - that way I have confidence that my electricals are still intact.
  25. I've always wondered about this too and have read somewhere that it is mechanically controlled, however that being said there should be some adjustments that you could make (mechanically) to get it to kick in earlier unless if it was controlled by the computer. Check out these guys, they claim to increase the sportivo from 141 to 155 Kws by swapping over the computer. PowerChip
