  1. Thanks for the help. The supplier emailed me back and said there was a toyota internal recall on air boxes due to air filters rattling inside the airbox and the old air box wasn't completely sealed. I've obviously got a tight sealing one and that I should work on it with a craft knife to get it to fit LOL... I will try again this weekend...
  2. When I had my whiteline springs installed, the installer cut the bump stops without me telling him to. I guess he does that with all installations of lowered springs.
  3. Hey can someone tell me if the 1zzfe air box is the same as a 2003 sportivo air box ? I just bought a ITG panel filter, and for the life of me can't close to lid of the air box on to it no matter how hard I try. So am wondering if they sent me the wrong filter. Thx.
  4. I am using the panel filter in the air box which I'll probably change to a k&n or trd later on. The main objective was to replace that dicky factory intake feed which goes to 1" diameter in one section of the intake. The induction noise from the box can be heard - not as loud as a aftermarket cai but very noticeable when reving high and definitely when in lift. I guess this combined with 98 octane fuel and an ecu reset I'm really feeling a big difference in performance.
  5. It's a great job well done :) That's the way i want to do mine too, so did you bypass the white box on top of the fog light cover? Can you tell me what material to buy please? Thanks :) Mine's pre facelift, I didn't notice any white box on top of the fog light cover. The flexi pipe just sucks air from within that front chamber. Flexi pipe can be bought from clark rubber, and 3" to 2.5" reducer at supercheap auto or ebay. You also need something to join the flexi pipe to the reducer - I used a pvc gutter down pipe extender that I had lying around in the backyard. If you can get a 2.5" diameter 90 elbow it would make installation a lot easier rather than using the existing intake and cutting it like I have. Big bum, thanks... will ask you about your source once I crave for more power...
  6. I just spent the last couple of hours doing a diy cai... Got a 3" to 2.5" reducer + 3" flex pipe. Cut the existing intake feed and stuck this one on. Woah... what a difference it makes, intake sound is noticeably louder from 3000rpm upwards and throttle response is noticably faster. :D :D :D Total cost: $40 MY DIY CAI
  7. Okay did a search, looks like the price has gone up considerably. Cheapeast price that I have is $420 AUD landed.
  8. Anyone know of any other cheap places to get an Injen CAI ? I contacted IND_Koncept and they said they no longer ship to Australia which is a shame :(
  9. That's absolutely legendary. Good work. :D I was wondering if I go to that club will I meet women with cleavage such as the one on the flyer ?
  10. Don't spring installers usually cut the bump stops when installing lowered springs ?
  11. I'm a fan of Tasty Jacks at the moment. Has anyone tried them yet ? Awesome flavour..
  12. I got quoted $50 to get the strut brace fitted. One guy tried to rip me off and said that it had to be on a hoist to adjust etc... and putting it on level ground will make it useless. So I called up whiteline, and they confirmed that their strut brace should only be fitted and adjusted when the car is on level ground. I ended up buying a 450mm sidchrome 1/2 inch wrench and 12mm socket to undo the strut bolts. With the right tools, the bolts were very easy to get off ! Now with the strut brace on, the front feels more solid and appears to have better turn in. :D Very happy with the product.
  13. Toyo Proxes T1R's are great. I have them up front and the turanzas just don't compare to these.
  14. Best place for Pho in Marrickville is Saigon Palace opposite Subway on Marrickville Road. I've tried every other place around there and this is one of the better ones. The ones past the station - you need to share a bloody table...

    My Son

Congratulations ! Being a father is great, especially when you can watch little bubs learn new things each day. Now all you need is a baby on board sticker which gives you permission to drive slow. :D
  16. Didn't have the address of that shop at the time - was really there for rc car parts :D and other toys. It's so crowded over there it's not funny. Takes 20 minutes to walk 1K due to all the people traffic. I'm glad to be home though...
  17. I've just been to Hong Kong for the last two weeks for a shopping holiday, and these c-one wing tips are NOT available over there - there is simply no market for them. They have pre facelift sedans which were badged as Corolla GLi's. You had to look pretty hard before you'd see one and on the odd occassion, it would have eyelids and front grill but that's about it. Lots of Jazzs, Vitz's, Lexus's, Mercs, hiaces and nissan grandes wagons etc... but no sportivo's hatchbacks <_< I recalled reading that someone here was going to try and buy them over there so thought I post this info. Btw. The performance car accessories shops are located in the street opposite the Stanford hotel in Mong Kok off Soy St.
  18. Bloody idiots... seems like it's happening everywhere these days no matter how protective we are of our cars. I'm getting the entire 4 panels of the side of my car being resprayed after being keyed on 3 panels - it's costing $1550 all up. They need to do the whole side of the car as apparently it's a bitch to match metallic paint up.
  19. Yeah customs wouldn't bother with it unless the value on it is over $500 AUD inclusive of shipping costs.
  20. That really sucks. We all make so much effort into keeping our cars dent and scratch free - and then someone else spoils it for you. Today I'm waiting at the lights on my way to work in peak hour traffic and a fkn cyclist hits my side mirror. Luckily know damage.
  21. Both panel beaters that I went to said to do it properly they have to take everything off and spray it. They both said you can get it done cheaply, but it won't look the same and you could tell that it was touched up - I'm not an expert in this area. Seeing that I took the option of having a protected ncb on my insurance policy, I guess what I'm doing is paying for the convenience as the panel shop is in walking distance from where I live and I 'guess' a proper job that will match the existing paint. Either way, I have to take the car and panel beater quote to the local GIO inspection station where I they will assess the quote and the damages before any work takes place.
  22. yep the stuff will be sent by EMS. with insurance just incase anything goes wrong. u in Bit Racer? I'm going to have to give this one a miss for now as there are a few bills to pay. I guess it's bad timing for me right now... :(
  23. I'm getting a written quote done right now. One place said $1200 another $1600 to take off all fittings and respray the entire side of the car ie. 4 panels. If my car was 6-7 years old, I would have just left it. But being only 2.5 years old and a car that I intend to keep for long term I'm going ahead with fixing it under insurance. I've tried taking photos to post up here of the damage but can't get a good photo because of the reflection in the paint work.
  24. Is the air freight EMS shipping ? This is the best method - gets here in 3 days from Japan and has a tracking number that you can use on the Australia Post website to find out where the parcel is.
