  1. I went for toyo proxes-t1r. A much better tyre than the turanza but it is a directional tyre so not sure if it'll help with your spare.
  2. No.1 would also be my choice. No.3 looks like it can be easily scratched against the foot path.
  3. What's the ride like with the lows - is it still fairly comfortable ? Or do you feel every road imperfection travel up your spine ?
  4. This is better drifting in 1:28 scale: http://www.kyosho.co.jp/web/download/movie...w/wm/mini-z.wmv AWD Coming at the end of this year.
  5. This coming weekend I'm going to get a pair of gt radials champiro 328's. Check the link below: http://www.tyres4u.com.au/product_details/...0&from=consumer These are a directional tyre. Not sure how good they are, but they are endorsed by Alan Moffet. Price fitted & balanced is about $180 each. The dudes at the tyre shop recommended this tyre and said it has better grip/handling than the stock turanzas. Price quoted for the Turanzas was $259 each. I wanted to get the Toyo Proxes T1R but apparently they are out of stock and next shipment is 2 to 3 weeks away... (we all know what that means). Something I can't wait for as my spare's all worn out on one side and has a puncture in it - not worth repairing.
  6. I've found that as I get closer to the next 5k oil change interval that the stivo becomes somewhat sluggish... I've always used the toyota recommended engine oils. Today when I revved into lift zone, I couldn't feel the kick that I use to feel and I'm certain that it's the engine oil getting older. Does anyone else notice this ? If our engine oils don't last for more than 5K intervals how is that VW golfs 1st service intervals are at 15k.
  7. I use to be really keen and washed my car every week when I first bought it, but now being 2 years old, it's only getting washed every 3 months...if I have time. I guess I'm the odd one out here... As for swirl marks - Life's too short to worry about them.
  8. I would sell the car while it is still worth around 25K. Pay off the personal loan asap, buy the house, rent it out and negative gear it.
  9. what model design is yours Luke? ← Hey thanks for the link. I'm going to get one of them ! :D Cheers !
  10. This is a common problem with the older AE82 corollas and is caused by rust on the bar that supports to the window or the window just detaches itself from the bar altogether. The passenger side windows are affected first because when you park your car on the street the passenger side sits lower and rain water flows to that part of the car. I had toyota fix mine because I couldn't get the window winding handle off to remove the door trim.
  11. Looks like some kids stole my antenna last night while the car was parked on the street next to a shopping centre. I didn't realise the antenna is simply screwed in and all they had to do was unscrew it. It's odd that the radio reception is just as clear without it. When I get a replacement, I'm going to have to threadlock it in. Anyone know where I can get shorter antennas ?
  12. Just wondering is this the right stuff and in the 63mm diameter ? http://www.eximo.com.au/flexibleducting/SFS-UV.html
  13. Dude, Sorry to hear this. Surry Hills is one of the worst places to park in. People squeeze large cars into small parking spots and don't give a #$%^. I once saw this aboriginal woman pushing a coles trolley down the street and intentionally smashing it into parked cars in the street. She was shouting "Sorry, there's no damage. It's was an accident." She was definitely under the influence of ... My dad's corolla was keyed from front quarter - doors - rear quarter whilst parked there. Cnr of Bourke and Cleveland is usually a quiet place with a few restaurants. I wouldn't have expected this to happen, particulary when Cleveland st. is so busy. Hope it all works out for you. Bit.
  14. If you press the clutch pedal all the way in, you'll notice that the rubber part of the pedal hits the carpet first, causing it to detach itself from the pedal. Happens to mine and a mates car as well... another design fault perhaps. With sports pedals - There have been two occasions with my previous car, that mechanics doing pink slip inspections required me to remove them because they were illegal. Is this still the case ?
  15. My sister's car had the air bags stolen - they do a professional job and disconnect everything at the right place without breaking anything. Cops came around fingerprinted the car and said most likely panel beater's buddies.
  16. Definitely change oil every 5000 kms. You power in lift will be restored like it was new. :D
  17. Just make sure you take it to a decent panel beater that doesn't cut corners and costs. I've seen some work done on my parents and sisters cars by different panel beaters, and while the exterior looks fantastic when it comes out of workshop it's the other things which aren't immediately visable that can cause problems later. My sisters car ended up with heaps or rain water leaking into the cabin of the front vehicle, car was under warranty and Mazda couldn't find where the water was entering the car. Another example is that one panel beater used some sort of flimsy metal sheeting in the boot area which rusted out after 6 months and you could actually see the ground through the massive hole that it left from the boot. Panel alignment problems... Paintwork on plastic bumpers coming off easily and exposing the black plastic. Oh and a old ford laser that we had where the front panel is suppose to be seperate panel, but the panel beaters joined it to the two fron quarter panels with bog....
  18. At the end of the day all it takes is to tell the buyer that you did the oil change yourself at 5k intervals and that should be sufficient. If they don't want the car, then I'm sure you'll get other buyers anyway. I don't intend on selling my sportivo for 10 years or when rust starts to appear...
  19. That's bad. Did you find out who owned the dog ? Did the air bags go off ?
  20. Once a day on weekdays to practice landing in lift from 1st to 2nd. :D Got to be careful though, too many d**k heads on the road that change in to your lane without looking.
  21. Funny that, I called GIO about whether I could use a re-usable air filter and they said as long as it was RTA approved they have no problem with it. Is the CAI classified as a performance enhancement on a hot day ?
  22. Called up my toyota service manager and he says warranty is still good as long as there is an air filter on the end of it. So will be placing an order soon, once I get a couple of questions answered from the supplier regarding delivery. :P
  23. I'm paying $1300 with GIO, over 30, ncb rating 1 + combined home & car discount but I guess I live in a high risk area.
