  1. Just curious what Toyota had in mind for a long term fix that will take 6 months? (say around September/October 2013) , this issue has been ongoing for years .Now suddenly they have decided to tackle it once for and for all , but will take another 6 months.Hopefully its worth the wait and a good outcome.Im still planning to buy a new KXR in June :)
  2. 1st of all thankyou to those have have replied so far......... At this stage with my budget , i will probably just get the KXR model new in mid june.I was wondering with it not having the front lower bumper driving lights , has anyone managed to get these included as a bonus when buying a brand new one?.The main reason i ask is , the driving lights are not listed as add on accessoires in there sales book(the only place ive seen them been sold is on Ebay). My wish list at this stage for a new KXR is: *FWD *7 seater *Driving lights *Sat Nav *Front mud flaps (rear seem to be already attached) *Side steps. If i could get these bundled into a great drive away price i will be happy. Dan
  3. Lets hope that Toyota has a proper fix for this issue that has been ongoing for years (as well as for some other models).I was really keen on getting a KXS Kluger mid year , but since i found out about this steering problem , the Kluger has now slip down my list :(
  4. I wonder when an Australian release date may be?
  5. All i can say is WOW! , i was in the market for a new Kluger within the next 6/8 weeks , but after seeing your car im now having 2nd thoughts on what to buy :)
  6. I feel if this noise has been with Kluger's since 2003 , even though it went though upgrades , i cant see the new 2014 model been any different. Whats the bet that after 15,000kms in the 2014 model , owners start complaining that the steering wheel has the same knock. I'm hoping of course the issue is solved once and for all , but its just disappointing to read that so many owners have the same problem and Toyota knows about it , but besides an exchange (for temp peace of mind) , it usually returns anyhow. As some of you are aware , i am in the market to buy one of these Klugers new within the next 3 months or so , but its hard to turn a blind eye to an inherited fault that Toyota cant or don't seem to be too concern about fixing once and for all.
  7. OK thanks for that , yes i see it now .Just curious if the issue gets repaired under "Warranty " , does it still come back anyhow?
  8. Very interesting topic for which im following closely been in the market for a new Kluger. With the part that does the actual knock , does anyone have pictures showing one , so we can see what is actually the cause?
  9. Thanks for that mate , it does look very interesting.I like the large grill it seems to be getting too.I wonder how long before any further pics get done.
  10. That is an interesting thing to point out , i did hear of a newer model coming though.Does anyone have a link or pics showing how it should look?.Im happy to wait around 6 months if it looks tempting , but not 12 months , the current style and shape looks just great in my books :)
  11. Hi Croco , Thanks for your feedback , and yes i will be now doing it at the end of financial year.As you mentioned with your advice , i will do my homework and take paperwork along showing other prices and current specials about.Once ive made a purchase i will report back here at this thread and let you guys know how i did. Dan
  12. Im in the market for a new Kluger , this really throws a spanner into my thoughts .Should i perhaps avoid buying one now and look for something else...........its a bit disapointing to hear that Toyota knows of the fault , yet still allows them to be made with the issue :(
  13. The switch is for cool air to be directed towards the driver , regardless what setting the controls are.So even if you have the heater on full , and press this button , cool air is sent though the vents to the drivers face. Its a great safety option ive never seen in any other car.The button works if the A/C is on or off , its an overide device. The small vents next to it are only for models fitted with climate control A/C and the there is sensor located behind it to read the cabin temperture. If you dont have climate control , the vent is still there and is just a blank device behind and does nothing. Dan :)
  14. Today I had a quiet Saturday afternoon , so decided to pop down to my local dealer and check out one in person.Up to this stage ive seen them on the road and in car parks so it was great to finally sit in one and check out the features and overall size. I surprised to find the bonnet wasnt as large as i had thought , and to work on the engine everything looked in easy reach. The drivers seat felt good and firm while the dash has a nice layout with easy to read and reach. The 2nd row seats had good space , and great legroom , but the 3rd row was limited space and i couldnt see adults using them very much . I guess the best part of todays look was , it was a brand new model and no one came by to hassle me , all the sales man were busy with other people so i had the car to myself and could look over with no pressure. Dan :)
  15. G'day all Im in the market for a New Kluger probably around June or July.I know prices ,dealerships and salesman can vary from area to area , but i was hoping to find out some tips on what i can do to get the best deal. As much as i would love a Grande model , its well out of my budget and its something i know not to push for....lol. My wish list is for a KXS in a FWD model in either white or blue , but if need be with costing ,i would be happy with a KWX in FWD . Are there any tips other owners on here are willing to share ? *Is there a better time of the month to actually haggle a price a bit? *Is there a better part of the year? *What items are more likely to be added in for free/bonus? *Can bluffing to say your off to check other makes down the road help? *Best way to get the highest trade in ? (I have a 2000 Avalon with 165,000) Thanks for any help or ideas ... Daniel South Coast NSW
  16. Thankyou Jeff and David , yes im hoping there is some sort of mid year/end of financial year deals happening.Im only after a fwd drive version with 5 seats.I can always add front spotties , nudge bar , side steps latter on....lol. I have been doing some research on prices , and the best ive found so far is KXR fwd (7 seater) for $38,888 brand new drive away (Black). Dan :)
  17. Hi Im Dan , i currently own a 2000 Avalon (had since new) , and around mid year i want to upgrade to a new Kluger (most likely either KXR or KXS) depending on what deals i can find when the time comes.
