  1. On stock shocks super lows in the rear isn't a good idea. But combined with Koni's and or KYB's it certainly does improve the handling dynamics of the car out of sight.
  2. Microfibre cloth soaked in hot water. Leave to sit on stain for a few minutes then simply wipe off. this will soften the sap and if it doesn't remove it all then put some turps on a terry toweling cloth and soak the remains. then simply using no pressure wipe off. Turps doesn't harm paint. I use it all the time as a professional detailer to remove things such as tar, road grime and as above.
  3. Not out tonight children. Too damm tired from the days work. Boss sent everyone home except supervisors and manager cause the suspect wet weather. Guess what ?? No rain all day so 6 of us compared to say 22 normal staff worked our a55es off all damm day. Plus spent 2 hours removing debirs from around bosses boat moored in Brekky creek. Man some crap floats down there!! You'd be surprised what we saw LOL
  4. Guys CES have one basically mocked up for the ZRE but unfortunately they need a test car to finish it off and dyno test it. Of all the noise some ZRE owners made about wanting one I don't see anyone wanting to put up their hand and showing the money to order one. Guys you cannot expect Australian companies to produce something unless there is demand for it. Not a cost effective practice to make and develop something that they may only sell 1-2 of a year. If you want it then contact them and maybe then the balll will start rolling in the right direction.....
  5. You're keen on the Alfa as you fantasize about breaking down all the time :P As Meatloaf would say "you took the words right out of my mouth" LOL XR5 is slow and heavy and has no room for anyone over 5"6". Seats are for people with small a55es too. Go the Golf GTI. Plenty of good quality car for your money and performance is good stock. So much to unleash in terms of aftermarket tuning. Have a mate who does chips/tuning etc for them and his is putting out over 340hp at the front wheels last time I saw it but he informs me yesterday that he now has more!!
  6. Kings on stock shocks will ride ok but will shorten the life span of the shock. Will be firmer than stock. Eibach pro kit is around the $500 plus mark so depends on your budget. 30mm drop and ride is definately on the softer side. Forget Bilstein I would go with KYB Excel G's if you want a lowered ride with maintaining your stock ride quality. Will be a comfortable ride and lower than standard. Koni's are definately better but cost wise a little more but are adjustable. Don't even worry about coilovers as they will not give you what you are after. Happy to help you out on prices on any of the above stuff just PM me.
  7. Whiteline springs are very soft in their ride. 30mm drop only. King springs are 35mm (lows) and 50 mm drop(superlows) Lovells are more expensive than Whiteline's. Pedders are prolly imo the spring with the least amount of quality but do come in at the cheaper end of the scale. Eibach do springs for the corolla but are 30mm drop and are expensive at around $500 for a set. My advice is go with the Kings. I've sold dozens and dozens of sets and never had a problem. If you are in Sydney I can supply you a set for $255 delivered to your door. Extra $5 if you are in Melbourne. Brissy $230 and arrange pick up.
  8. Spillage put the header info in another trhead so not to confuse some members please.
  9. Water has subsided in my back yard back to a healthy 5" or so with a fast flowing stream running along my back fence. My new dog which is only a puppy thought it would be great to play in the water and the mud so first job this arvo was wash one wet and dirty dog who was quite cold LOL.
  10. CES do CAI's as well as Exhaust systems and will freight anywhere in Australia. Spillage edit the 2ZZ CAI for CES please. It is mild steel HPC coated. Also the TRD CAI is not made to fit the Aus spec Corolla's in true form. It does fit but some of the mounts will need tweaking to line up and fit right. Also all facelift Corolla's will need to modify the body where the hole is behind the headlight for the pipe to go through as the facelift headlight has a larger and deeper backing so room is very limited.
  11. Drove through flood waters at Telegraph Rd Brakcen Ridge. Was in the Hilux so no drama's. Water was about 2 and a half foot deep in the deepest place and there were idiots coming the other way in things like Hyundai excels etc and the bow wave of myslef and the Patrol in front would hit them and nearly go over the windscreen. talk about idiots!! I have a video of it and will put it up once I have hosted it somewhere. I came down one of the main roads near home and slowed to turn left into a side street at about 25-30km'hr and the Hilux literally went straight ahead. A lady was sitting waiting to turn right out of the side street and i was heading straight for her door with all wheels simply sliding so a quick stab of the brake pedal and locked the rears and a bit of lock and some throttle to swing the bum around and then some gentle brake pulled me up nearly parallel with the lady with a gap of about 3-4 feet. I wound my window down and apologised cause I could see she was crapping herself with the thought of my bullbar heading right towards her and all she could do was abuse the living daylights out of me. She accused me of speeding and being on those wet weather morons who drive too fast etc etc. I replied with there is obviously something on the road a this thing doesn't make enough power to spin a wheel net alone drift it. She just kept on ranting and raving so i yelled at her next time I will simply just let my car slamm into hers if that was what she wanted as I know who would win that argument and then drove off.:( Man some people should be thankfull for the fact that I didn't hit her and managed to control my car and steer it away from hitting her as I would have injured her for sure hitting the commodore right in the drivers door. Lucky for her it wasn't some 18 year old who thinks he is invincible cause she would be in a hospital with some serious injuries right now......
  12. BKS happy to lend a hand where needed as amember of the mod team from TOCAU.
  13. Only facelift zze122's and the zre152 corolla's have dbw. All early models have a cable which is what i prefer.
  14. On average the CAI on the 2zzge will give around 7 - 10 Kw at The wheels. So yeah, not a placebo effect. The big difference between gains on CAI's is the brand and the filter choice. The gains BKS have quoted would be on a car with no other mods ie no exhaust, header upgrade etc etc.
  15. what ever floats your boat on that one Spillage Here's my full house.... Speed Racer.. can fight and drive at the same time Hefty smurf.... Arnie's no match for Hefty!!
