  1. The 05 stivo we drove wasn't a demo. It actually was a stock car hence why we were told only to put 5k's or less on it.
  2. Just put up a post about our test drive of your model Stivo over the previous model.
  3. Data3 Castlemaine St Milton. Besdie Suncorp Stadium. Head along the M1 into town and follow riverside expressway. Turn off at Hale st and stay in the left lane. Take the first exit to Milton rd. Turn left onto Milton rd then get over to right lane and turn right at lights into Castlemaine st. Data3 is about 300 metres or so down the street on the left. Look for all the Corolla's in the car park between the 2 buildings. Easy to find if you miss us we'll try and flag you down!!!
  4. Hi all we are having another Dyno day/Show and Shine at CES Racing sometime in June. We haven't got a fixed date as yet but shoud do in the next week or so. Same deal as last time with 10 spots up for grabs on the dyno and food and drink available as well. Trophies will be awarded for the show and shine as well. This is just to wet your appetite and to gauge interest. This is not just for the Brisbane members but if anybody from Sydney,Melbourne or wherever would like to come and make a weekend of it up in ***'s country then we'll gladly try to accomodate you or help organise somewhere to stay. It would be great to see a lot of cars turn out for this event again as those who went to the last one will tell you it was a great day. If you are interested then reply to this thread or PM me for more info. I will also ask some of you Brissy boys to help out with organising this event as I will not have as much time as last year due to a change in jobs. Thanks for now and we will post exact dates soon as. Cheers Silvabullit.
  5. Hey all Danthuyer and myself went yesterday and took a 05 Stivo for a test drive to see if toyota have fixed all problems the previous models had. Firstly the differences;- Front bumper, driving lights, grille, headlights and front mudguards Rear tail lights Camry sportivo badges under bump strip on doors Camry sportivo badge under Corolla badge on rear hatch Mp3 compatible head unit Silver carbon fibre look panel around centre consol and door controls Additional storage compatrment on centre arm rest (Makes arm rest about 1.5-2"higher and more comfortable.) All windows are now auto up/down Washer bottle is different; has longer neck and would be easier to fill. Obviously new ECU and airbox lid Of all the differences over the previous models I like the higher armrest as you are now able to rest your arm on it and change gears(if your arm is long enough!!) New head unit is nice and sounds slightly better than the previous model. Performance is very different with the engine having a lot more torque under 6000rpm although this makes the lift point nowhere near as viscious as the previous model. The car we drove had 27km on it so it would have been a little tight but it felt a lot more responsive to drive at lower speeds and acceleration in a taller gear at low speed was nicer as well. Induction noise is a little louder as well. I now no why I swapped the standard wheels/tyres straight away as under steer and general cornering is ordinary to say the least. We popped out the centre console to check the shifter cables and they seem to have been revised to a plastic coated cable from the recall rubber coated ones(we think?) in the short amount of time we had to look!!!! Gear shifting was nice and crisp without being notchy but that may change as it gets driven more. All in all we thought it was a good basis to start with and better than the previous model. No problem landing 1-2 lift shifts and with the mods that most of us have already done to our cars I reckon the new car would perform as good if not better than the previous model. I thought I could hear the car saying give me a TRD CAI and a CES system and lets go and have some fun!!! After driving one I will definately consider doing a trade up to one if my wonderful wife will let me!! Cheers SILVABULLIT :D
  6. Damm keyboards with keys that don't work or it could just be the fact that I've cut the end off my pointer finger on my right hand and typing is not real easy ATM. Might be able to post the time slips today if all goes to plan... sorry no video footage for these runs as he went out there solo.
  7. Hey Trogdor Just putting a K&N panel filter in will make a difference to performance. If your interested I've got one doing nothing as I've now got a TRD CAI fitted to my car. PM me if your interested. Milton meet up time is from 9-9.30pm onwards so if you can spare a couple of minutes come and say hello and someone there will probably have the tools to do the throttle body bypass for you.
  8. Whose going to be out for look see on Thursday night? It would be nice for some of the Newby's to come and join us as well!! Data3 Castlemaine St Milton (Beside Suncorp Stadium)
  9. I've had a customer refuse to take a car on my advice due to paint issues and they told the dealer to fix it or give me another car. They fixed the problems (some scratches and blobs in the paintwork) but I said the repair could be better. The dealer then had another attempt and got it to what I considered to be satisfactory. Remember the old saying "the customer is always right" and you have the right to either accept the car or tell them to fix it. The more noise you make the quicker and better they'll fix it in most situations. I've never had a customer whose car I've looked at go away unhappy. they get what they want or i tell them to take their business elsewhere. Dealerships don't like losing to the opposition and if it means spending a couple of hundred in paint repairs or detailing to retain a sale they'll do it. Demo's are easy to pick. Check cleanliness of brakes, wheels, wheelarches for road use. Check paintwork for obvious scratches and marks from use. As far as the interior is concerned check fabric on seats for small signs of wear, seat belts and marks around pillars and door trims where seat belt hits trim. Wear marks on carpets and pedals, door sill trims with scuff marks are also really obvious. The easy one is speedo and trip meter readings(shouldn't be more than about 30 odd k's) and of course tyre wear. Check all these out and everything should be to your likening. Cheers SILVABULLIT :D
  10. Well I just got a call from Danthuyer reporting on his trip to Willowbank for a test and tune night and the news is all good. Mind you he took a lot of my persistant prompts telling him that the weather is good and tonight is the night. So he finally gave in and here is the results as follows; 14.95 @ 151.7km/hr(94.26mph) 14.89 @153.56km/hr(9542mph) Let me be the first to congratulate Craig on his efforts and say "about friggen time" I think he can say that for the meantime he the fastest Stivo in Australia! (I guess Screaminrolla is heading to the strip very shortly!!!)
  11. Updating info all the time... thanks for the hits tho :D
  12. Spotted a silver 05 Sportivo around Breakfast Creek with a trade plate on the back being driven by one SILVABULLIT and navigated by one DANTHUYER! If you buy it we put five good k's on for you and wore the tyres in as well.
  13. 2000 Hits My Garage!!!! B) B) B) Well it must be the day for milestones with Danthuyer hitting the 1000 post mark and I just checked my garage and it's just clocked over 2000 hits. Not just because it's a great car but because it's SSSIIILLLVVVEEERRR!!!!!!! Big thanks to Steve for creating the garage for us and by the amount of new people joining each week this has obviously been a major contributing factor. It's good to see pics of everyone's rides and what is done to them. All in all a high standard of cars in our garage shows our visitors just how much we enjoy our cars but also how much we know about them. Cheers SILVABULLIT :D :D
  14. I'm a professional car detailer and have had some of my customers take me to the dealership to inspect the car before taking delivery of it. If I'm not satisified with the cleanliness/condition of the vehicle they wont take delivery of it. I love it;they pay me to stand there with the dealership's so called detailers and pick all the faults in the car. The end result is a perfect car and a happy customer. I'm not in Sydney but if I were you find a highly reputable detailer and get him to look at the car first. It's amazing what the trained eye picks up that your eyes don't. It might cost a bit but in the end you get what you want- a perfect new car. I'm in Brisbane so if anybody in here is buying a new car then I'm more than happy to have a look at a car for you. My time is limited so weekends are better. All TOCAU members I will do special prices for. PM me if you want to know more. cheers SILVABULLIT :D :D
  15. Unsure as of yet. Have got 2 birthday functions on; first one at 11am, then 1.30pm and a farewell bbq for my Vanuatu visitors possibly on Saturday as well. I'll see how the day pans out but will let you know.
  16. Or spend $960 on a CES exhaust system and get 9KW!!! MMMMM B)
  17. If you want springs I can get you King Springs Lows for $220. If you just do springs you can expect your shocks to last about 20 - 25000 km's before they get nice and soft. I can also get you Koni's,sway bars etc. if your interested PM me. Cheers SILVABULLIT. :P
  18. Possible nudity???? Don't know that I want to see Craig in his birthday suit although it"s his birthday. My eyesight is too precious!!!! MMM Not good thoughts something along the line of Monty burns in the buff :o :o
  19. Shao the wealth of knowledge delivers again!!!
  20. The joys of being married!?!? sometimes i wonder if the positives outway the negatives. MMM not even going to bother to try and work that one out.
  21. Depending on where you are there are clubs(quite a few) in each of the major cities. Do a google search and type in VW clubs and check it out. There is also a VW forum type club called Aussie Vee Dubbers. It should come up in the google search also. Need any other info PM me as I'm a VW enthuisiast. Cheers SILVABULLIT :D
  22. AAHH the comments are all true BUT take it easy on the bald part! there's still plenty of hair covering my head albeit a little thinner than it used to be!!! As for that game AARRGGHH umpires especially the balding one was shocking. I don't fully understand all of the rules but reckon I could have done a better job. I had the chance to take out about a dozen Sydney supporters but didn't want their crap all over my bonnet. ;)
  23. Make it big enough to hide all the stone chips on the front of your car AZZA!!! :P :P
  24. Don't forget the side pods and the rear wing for extra downforce. Closest thing you have to a Ferrari is the colour AZZA but that's where the similarities end my good friend ;)
