  4. I know up here in Qld we would prefer a colour apart from black as for most of the year up here a black shirt in the sun is waay too hot. This idea has been around but nobody could agree on what it should look like. We have the logo the same as the stickers it all just comes down to the design of the shirt itself and the price to get them made.

  11. Heavier oil will make a difference to performance. as far as your oil burning goes if your car is under warranty then take it back to your dealer. They will then monitor it and if they deem it as unacceptable then you could end up with a new engine. But your oil changes should be every 5000 km. It is a high revving N/A engine and if constantly driven hard will use a small amount of oil. Honda S2000's have a service interval of about 2000km. But they run a lot higher RPM than the sportivo and will use oil caused by high RPM which you will get a bit of blow by the oil rings. A mate of mine who works for a Honda dealer had a S2000 come in on a tilt tray with seized engine. when they asked the owner what happened he said he started it then it just stopped and wouldn't start. they then asked him when was the last service(their warranty states you must have the services done at the recommened intervals) he said a while ago. They then checked it and hadn't had a service for 21 000km!!! Engine had run out of oil almost and the oil warning light had triggered and won't let the car start. No warranty for him and costly engine rebuild. so keep your services up to scratch guys or else it could get ugly.....
  12. Been using clay bars for over 10 years now hence the quality of the finish and reflection I can achieve on just about any surface. You don't win multiple trophies as I did with my old Sportivo for having dull and flat paintwork.... Now that my secrets are out I want to see some real neat looking cars at the National meet in june!!!!!

  14. Guys the fine for not having cat convertors on your car is higher than having an unregistered hand gun in your possession. something you just don't remove without the worry of getting pinged. Any decent exhaust shop that does good quality work wouldn't do something like that for the fear of themsleves getting fined with a bigger fine than you the owner will get. Just simply put higher flowing cats on or modify the stock ones to flow more if that's what you are after. But removing them all together(even if the car has 3) is crazy. It obviously has 3 because Aurions must produce a lot of emissions that need to be run through 3 cats...

  16. For you guys in Brisbane give CES a call regarding exhaust systems. I was talking to Trevor from there the other day about Aurion's and the potential they may have hidden away in average factory exhaust systems. the cat back they designed for the Sportivo Corolla had dyno proven gains of about 9kw atw on a stock car. Might be worth looking into as they do fantastic work also will Db test it to make sure it is legal if you want it to be.

  19. Is it stock??? If it is then modify it. You want more poke at lower rpm then get CES catback, ported headers and a CAI then you will have all the throttle response you'll need. And a Gen 3(stocko) will have to try real hard to get away with any sort of ease.

  21. Familiar gearboxes are ok so long as you don't want to boost up your power output. Strengthen them and add some more power and they still break. There is only a couple of cars still being used up here in QLD by lets say not the greatest and fastest drivers and they aren't breaking them but their cars aren't really modified too severly nor do they drive em hard. Want to rally hard and fast in an AWD car then go and buy and EVO Lancer.
  22. Got to agree with rollamods on that one. Aurion is a nice looking car and certainly does have some punch. A friend of mine took one for a test drive and was very surprised at just how good it handled, stopped and behaved itself for as front wheel drive with 240kw. As for the Hilux and seeing one in the flesh at the motor show sitting in the corner looking oh so similiar to a stocko I went over and opened the door and put the bonnet up. Don't think the sales people liked it but within 5 minutes of doing it there were quite a number of people coming and having a look under the bonnet at the S/C 4.0 V6. They would go very well but visually Toyota has missed the mark somewhat in making the car look distinctive from base models. Unfortunately for Toyota they are still trying to build cars that are somewhat senior citizen friendly in the looks and practicality dept. They produce "sports" models that in my opinion are watered down for the Australian market that are easy to drive for any sort of person young or old. Hence the thing that makes me laugh about Toyota building "sports" models with an automatic option!!!! Funny how any of Honda's sport models (S2000, DC2 Type R's and the like) don't have an auto option??? Yes the Sportivo corolla doesn't come in an auto but it in itself is still a long way from being an out and out sports model. It's close but with the 4wd stance and so so handling it's still pitched at the average Joe who just wants leather and fancy options over the base model with lil more power......
  23. not sure if anyone has a TRD exhaust system on their 9th gen due to A; cost & B; i haveen't seen such an animal that will fit our Aus spec cars. Most go local aftermarket due to the cost of most Jap tuner brands being ridiculously expensive. If there is enough interest from 10th gen owners then CES may do a cat system like they did for 9th gen but the interest has to be there to make it viable.
