  1. Maybe if you add the transmission flare between 3rd & 4th when cold. It's not a recall nor is there an official fix and only noticable on some Aurions.
  2. Local Toyota replaced mine at the last service, 60K (last week). Pitty they refuse to fix the transmission because there is no official fix (out of topic).
  3. Flare between 2nd & 3rd. Thats strange my flare on the 10/06 build is between 3rd & 4th.
  4. Hi, I've found United's E10 98 no better than (Caltex premium) 95 Octane as far as km/ltr. That is only judging by the onboard eco meter that the sportivo's have.
  5. Thanks for the reply guys. This dealer has got best dealer of the year 5 years straight. Unsure how, maybe the least complaints ? Items. 1. If you go over the service interval time (not K's) buy more than 1 week, they perform the next service. eg. 30K service, missed by 1 week they perform the 40K and write it in the book and leave the 30K blank. 2. Transmission issues for nearly 3 years, still not fixed or noted in any paperwork. 3. Service people never smile, look in your direction etc. Just general customer service stuff. .... Thats just mine. I may be in the wrong but sometimes a "official" second opinion is nice.
  6. Thanks, looks like I didn't try the basics..................
  7. Hi, Sorry if this has been mentioned before but my searches didn't turn up much. I and a couple of others want to complain/question about a Toyota dealer and their service but cant seem to get past the local dealer to resolve warranty issues. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
  8. 22" almost running on "rubber bands" (expensive ones)
  9. Maybe this should be pinned. Probably not the last time this will be asked. Good work
  10. Hi, Whats with the computer chip and the led lights, I have previous heard that when you have lead lights it's not a standard old method connection. I take it that you didn't have a Toyota fitted towbar + connector ? Or did I miss the point. Thanks
  11. Thanks for the feedback everyone, thats good to know. And yes, after a big drive and the small effort in getting it all set up at the end, a beer goes down very well.
  12. Hi there, I have bought a Jayco Camper not long ago and the Aurion pulls it failrly well. It weights approx 1300kg fully loaded but I do take it easy (but not grandpa style). Fuel consumption seems to almost double. Usually (unloaded) the car uses around 8 ltrs/100km 95 ron on highway travel but when towing it seemst to nealry double between 14 - 16 ltrs/100km. Backing it off to traveling 100km/hr or sometimes less as per speed limits (when towing) seems to bring it down to 14.5 ltr/100km which is a happy figure for me. I will get more acurate figures with time. The Aurion takes off fairly well (but expect at least double the time to get to 100km/hr). I feel if I take it too hard, the towbar would be reefed out of the back of the car (probably not likley). I had an eletric brake controller fitted, not a major issue, but I knock it with my knee occasionally. It's located under the steering wheel to the left. Not sure if the large jump in fuel consumption is due to the max torque being a higher rpm than other cars, or if that is just an expected figure due to the additional load being carried. I will buy some load levelers soon not that they are a nessesity as the ball weight is around 100kg with changing the luggage distribution and the tail of the Aurion drops very little (about 1"). I previously towed a camper trailer (you know the trailer with a tent on top). That was light in comparison. Anyway, this is just what I have found and just sharing my experiance if your interested down the track. Thanks
  13. I "polished" the car when I first got it. the worst thing I have done for a while. Left the car with millions of spider web looking scratches. I quickly learnt to "wax" NOT polish on new/well kept cars. Was a ok brand, like "turtle polishing wax". Thanks for the tip, I didn't know about a sealer. Isnt the clay bar a wax ?
  14. I still think it's suppose to be sequential shift. There is not much sporty about it, IMO http://www.toyota.com.au/aurion/features/mechanical
  15. I think that was a 4 cylinder you were looking at. Note the 16V on the engine
  16. Each to thier own. I don't use E10/95 all the time, but I find it a good alternative as in my tests it has better economy than standard/91.
  17. Q: Do Octane levels vary in E10 fuels ? I usually use and E10 thats apparently at 95 octane and usually get between 7.0 and 10lt/100km ? I do hear of the usual argument that it's bad for the engine but how long do people keep thier cars, surely some of the storys that I hear on this forum people abuse thier cars more than E10 does. I do agree my car runs great/better on Caltex 95 and do run it on trips 4 sure. Anyway, I find that I get better eco for 95.E10 than standard 91 Octane.
  18. Thanks, thats great. I will check it out tonight.
  19. Hi, I have blown the lighter fuse (no voltage on the outlet anymore after testing with a multimeter). I have checked the fuse box under the hood but can't seem to relate a fuse to the lighter, they all seem to be NOT blown. Any idea what it's called, or which on it is ?? THanks
  20. Mine mostly happens when cold, between 3 & 4th. But can replicate the issue when hot by turning off the engine, pulling out the key, starting and taking off again, then it will happen when it's on its way from third to fourth (usually once only whan warm). Toyota have recognised the issue, but as mentioned are working on a firmware fix.
  21. Hay, does any one know how many times a second the ABS cuts in an out in a potential lockup in the Aurion ? In the driving courses they do teach you to break with your left foot and it does feel un-natural at first, and is not the final solution, it's used for a situation. They use it to cover the breaks if you think that there may be a potential incident. That split second can save metres in the end result. Pumping breaks was good in the older cars, but you need to be a profesional to use it effectively in a emergency situation. As mentioned before, constant presure just before the lockup is the best. Putting breaks on sooner rather than later is my choice.
  22. Arrh, but was the camera head on ? It looks to be approx. 45degrees ? And didn't see ant cars on the opposite side of the road. Anyway, good luck if you take them on, we would be interested in finding out the result. Thanks
  23. 5.3L = Impressive. I found the engine seems to like running on the same type of fuel, not mix and match. I get better readings after a couple of weeks on the same fuel, usially 95 Octane.
