  1. Sorry to ask the question. But why would you "drag" a yaris ?
  2. I had my 94 Camary for 14 years & the Toyota dudes put GTX2 in it. So I stayed with that with no probs.
  3. The new Falcoon, my not meet up to the standard of the Aurion. But it will be a lot closer than before
  4. Imagine how much better our roads would be if all this fuel tax went to the roads ....
  5. Imagine how cheaper fuel would be if we didn't pay a massive tax on it. The excise tax on commonly used fuels in Australia as of June 2006 are as follows: $0.38143 per litre on Unleaded Petrol fuel (Includes standard, blended (E10) and premium grades) $0.38143/0.40143 per litre on Diesel fuel (Ultra-low sulphur/Conventional) $0.00 (Excise-Free) per litre on Liquified petroleum gas used as fuel (Autogas or LPG as it is commonly known in Australia) $0.38143 per litre on Ethanol fuel (Can be reduced/removed via Grants) $0.38143 per litre on Biodiesel (Can be reduced/removed via Grants) This does not included GST, on top
  6. People still use the same amount of fuel. So if they don't buy Friday, Saturday & Thursday will be twice as busy at the bowser. Unless every on walks/bike ? Which is not possible for me.
  7. the spare tyre on the SX6 is a full size alloy.
  8. I got the Sx6 a year ago and have been very happy. But would have got the Zr6 if I had the extra funds ..........
  9. Wait till next month. There will be 07 plate clearance sales, should get a grand or 2 off.
  10. Thanks guys, I did it on the week end & all worked fine. I used metho to remove the gunk & cleaning wax to remove the residue, but it wasn't easy work, will use Eucalyptus Oil as suggested next time. Removed the "Aurion" , "Sportivo" & left he Sx6 badge there for now, but it will probably go too. & yes I was left with the gunk on the back of the badge as well (but expected), couldn't be bothered as yet to remove that. Thinkig of putting the Sportivo badge somewhere else, maybe the grill ?? Thanks for your advice about the removal. Adrian
  11. Hi, I too was going to buy the Lib or Forester Turbo, but the Aurion was just better value money. The Sub'ies have a better resale value etc are reliable, but cost more to buy, repair & service. I drove an XR6 the other day and it was a lot more toey at low revs (torque), great around the corners but I wanted something different rather than another Falcon. I think the Aurion is slow to respond to make it a smother ride, unsure ?? Have a look in these posts, otrher guys have done a mod for an AUX input to the sound system. Happy riding
  12. Hi, I want to remove a copule of the badges form the rear boot (personal preference). Is there any technique ? I take that they just peal off then clean the crap that is left behind ? I'll leave the big ugly toyota symbol. Thanks Adrian
  13. Well its a gift to yourself, isnt it ?
  14. I little off topic. I find when I use protectent such as ArmourAll it leaves a reflective finish. This causes a bit of distraction when driving becuase it reflects back off the windscreen. I did buy a cheap black travel rug for a while and place it on the dash. This helped cut the sun and reflections and heat on the dash ........
  15. Our local Toyora has also reported the issue, so this is good. Is yours between 3&4th gear ? They said that if it had to be fixed it "may" have to go to Sydney to be fixed (Terry Shields Toyota who specialise in Toyota Transmissions), so that may mean a week or so. Will see what they say. In the mean time I have a gaping hole where the raido use to be. It had to be sent to FujutsuTen to be fixed/replaced. Other than that, all seems well with my car. \Adrian
  16. I have a couple of minor problems as well. Radio display goes blank or pixelates when car is hot (left out in the sun) and transmission flares in the warmup routine. My car was made in Oct/06 does anyone have a similar build time in thier problem cars ? Thanks
  17. Saw the Aurion TRD add on tellie. Comedy channel of all places. Short & sweet.
  18. Hi, Yes I have a genuine towbar but no stabiliser bars and it goes fine. Up Bulladela (cant spell), changes back a gear and keeps to it's 110km/hr no probs. Obviously uses more fuel, around the 10/11 ltr/100km on the highway. I take it that your poptop has brakes ? Toyota recommended that I get it factory/dealer installed something about the LED tail lights (& I did), that could have been to get more money as well.... Any comments on reliability of the car and cost of spares and accessories? Aurion is a Toyota, so you will find it to be more reliable than most Australian cars makes. I got a 6 yr warranty with fixed service costs, $120 frist 3 & $170 next 3yrs, providing I take it back to my local Toyota place. Cost, it costed less than $500 (new & factory, with brakes option), a little more expensive than going to JoeBlow but convenient. I,m not really excited about moving into a 4WD etc. (Re. your good advice on turbo diesel). Me too, I did have a think about it but it would take more garage space and cost more etc.
  19. Hi, I have towed a fully loaded camper trailer many times, while it is probably only half of a caravan, it tows that load great. Maybe a turbo diesel may be better for towing a big load due to a higher torque ?
  20. Hi, I have used "United" Boost98 thinking that I was getting a good deal but after a few tests, it gets around 0.5ltr/100km worse that Vortex98 on the same road trips (500km) eg. Vortex98 = 7.4 Boost98 = 7.9 I get about the same out of the "United, e10 95 octane compared to the boost98". I might give the Shell stuff ago as well After reading the Shell web site onn the V-Power racing, not all cars benifit from the additional octane rating, but as previous posts, they were good figures. Adrian
  21. Hi, I have mine booked in for a 15K on Thursday. If they can fix yours, I'll be more annoying and keep asking to looking my transmission issues ..... Adrian
  22. Same stuff has been happening to me for the last 8 months. I asked the service techo and he said it is a know "feature" See thread, http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/inde...?showtopic=9848 I don't think that you will get it corrected, but good luck Adrian
  23. Good job. I think that the ugliest part of the factory std Aurion is the radio. Your change makes a great complement.
