  1. haha i have a stock levin one lying around too, sometimes i put it on just for a bit of a change feels like too much silver some times :)
  2. finished exams, recently unemployed, got a little bored and did some random things to my car. first up, slapped on my new tyres Dunlop SP Sport 3000A 205/50/R16 These tyres are usually on the ford xr6's, snapped these up for a bargain as a tyre factory is closing down. Absolutely love them as i had el-cheapo indonesian tyres that had really fat tread, but dissapeard within 15kz. however i hear when these get hot, they ware down very quickly Sprayed my engine cover the same colour as my car Primmed, 3 layers of silver, gunmetal grey hobby paint for VVT-i and red nail polish for L and toyota emblem, 6 layers of clear coat. guess my car could have done with some rice. and it killed time for me my daily personal cheer squad whilst doing DIY's to my car
  3. I have got king suuperlows all round and have driven them on stock shocks for around 25+kz, I got someone to have a look at my shocks from when i replaced my tyres for an assessment. they are still apparently fine. how would you know when your stock shocks are gone? i've tried bounciing the car but thats about all.
  4. the rear are 5.25" from memory, you will have trouble taking them off. these are like moulded onto the door pods, i wanted to keep the plastic door pods so i used a stanley knife to cut the speaker, chisel and hammer to knock out the actual speaker. i have an old thread in this forum titled 'sound deadning doors hope that helps
  5. well if they perform the same way the cheap Chinese Nexen tyres i have on currently... I'll be stoked haha gotta love cheap asian brand tyres :P i got a set of these sitting in my garage too, probably from the same guy hopefully they do well
  6. that is damn sexy mate loving your work
  7. I had no dramas with mine because i got the rear bumper re-done at the same time aswell. figured i'll just add another slab to my mate if he does the whole rear and everything matches you are right though, silver is really hard to match which is probably why you saw miscolouration. Gee all the silver corollas are showing their a$$es, nice!
  8. Thats what i did minus the duct tape. just used a perm marker and marked what i needed to cut and out with the electric jigsaw. then i just handed it to a mate who works at a smash repairs joint to smooth it out, paint it and bobs ur uncle. does look a tiny bit wierd tho but thats because of my exhaust tips not being angled. im sure if it was a single tip it wouldn't matter

    Tint

i've got 20% on my car and it does not attract the boys in blue. it is a little bit annoying when reversing at night times but you get used to it. my personal opinion, if i was to tint my windows again, i'd probably do 15%, there is not too much difference. I do have a contact who does it in the richmond area. if you are interested shoot me a PM
  10. keep the rear skirt, it matches the side skirts and front! and they also look hot :)
  11. thanks wil_rolla sounds like a tonne of fun, i'll see how i pull up i got an operation on the 10th, if im in good shape i'll come down
  12. hey guys care to elaborate a bit on the roadworthy side of things? like do you haveto supply a roadworthy from when u got the car etc etc?
  13. Flatshifting is quite an expensive hobby to keep :P
  14. I am not going to list the twin tips because i am very annoyed at it makes a very loud hissing sound when i reach 5k+ in revs may be pretty pointless but im going to try and put some sound deadner (tar material) like in between the rims of the tips. maybe its time for a new muffler... otherwise anything else i can try???
  15. looking awesome BKS, cant wait to see it on the next cruise Andrew
  16. go the velcro mate, its a very cheap option and its hidden good luck with it
  17. Future mods will have to be put off for a while now. insurance and credit cards haven't been nice to me lately. Thinking of going the KYB shocks BKS has on his car. Other future mods will possibly be Ported headers and aftermarket ecu, but that will be a lot later down the track.

  20. thanks very much for your replies it was very much appreciated. my friend who installed my rear sway did not do up a bolt tight enough which was causing a knocking sound everytime i went over bumps. sorry for wasting your time, long live the stock shocks! can someone please close this thread
  21. ontop of that, you can either use a phillips head screwdriver to twist or use you fingers. If you are real lazy like myself, get a cordless drill with phillips head and on the slowest speed twist it. make sure you're in a dark place when ur doing it and u can mark the angle where u want the lights to point on the wall with masking/duct tape. not sure how many metres you are supposed to be from the wall tho good luck
