Well, if you have the Gen 6 (current model Camry), you'd be using the 2.4L engine of course... Search 2007... 2008... There's two different types of filters. I think you'd be after the 33-2370... look at the pics when you search for it to see if it's the same.

Yeah, it sucks to hear about the situation... but that's life. I think in Qld the car needs to have a REVs check done if being sold by a dealer as well as a safety cert? Interesting. Put it this way - you can take the car back to stock relatively easy, put the old rims back on it (or sell them ones... whatever).. I'd be putting the stockos back on purely because you won't get anything for rims on the car. Either look for a Cam the same colour so you can swap the body kit around on... look for a top quality private seller car. Look at the older generation people getting rid of their lil runaround Camry... they're the good ones :)

Wow... stuff that! Well, at least you know what condition the car's in! I prob shouldn't have mentioned the RWD conversion LOL! Would never have found out.. If you change the car, make sure you get a REVS check at least.

I guess the more research you do into the RWD or AWD change, the better. I dunno about 20k, but I'd imagine that it's the labour that'll cost the most. You'd need to find someone that's skilled enough to make it happen, without them "umming and ahhhing" so to speak. I believe the fuel tank would have to be moved and all that kinda stuff... so yeah, it's not a walk in the park. Put it this way - if it's possible, you'll have a 1 off car that no one has on the planet. If not, see if you can just BUY an SV21 Alltrac from Japan or the likes and do that up? You've seen Greg's Gen 2 (aka 89Camry), that thing is a work of art. I reckon if Greg had the Alltrac with the power that his car produces, that thing would kill nearly every car that's on the road today :)

Hah, I can just see a Camry archin up doin a u-turn at a set of lights with onlookers going :o See how you go with it. If RWD or AWD are even possible, you'd need to be researching similar cars that used that drivetrain. I've got him to look into the SV21 Alltrac and the likes... might be a "bit from here and there" to make that kind of thing happen.

Buy one from Toyota... if not, try Ebay. Programming is straight forward... depends really. There should be a procedure that I copied over from another site that had the info... just search and you shall receive :)

The kit you're after looks good... Oi Sean, If you want a fkin awesome front lip, try and find the Rod Millen made one. There IS a website that you can check for them... ask Adam when you're next on Auscam or when he's next on here. Search TN as well for the lip too... was only a recent topic with a link to Rhys Millen's business that still made em. Perfect example on what they look like : The fastest Camry on this planet's got one - they're made properly in wind tunnels... *drools* I WANT ONE!

I normally touch my car key on the top of the door when getting out. Basically I use the metal part on the key (with the rubber end on the key) as an earth rod. Haven't zapped myself yet, but when I close my door, I normally push the plastic vertical pillar on the frame of the door when I close it so I'm not touching any metal. See what works for you. These both work for me.. haven't been zapped for yonks :P lol

how well knowledged is ur missus when it comes to cars? not discriminating or anything, but there are girls out there who wouldn't even notice you changed ur car as long as its the same colour and has 4 doors... maybe start small... change something and see if she notices, then carry on from there... bit by bit :) Ah yes... they find out. Normally they notice the bank account much lower than it should be LOL!

Might be worth trying the $150 option though... over a period of time, you'll start to use more coolant as it gets worse (or if it gets worse). When you start spending 40 bucks on a bottle of coolant, topping once to twice a week, you might start spending average 20 bucks a month on coolant.

I reckon you should be going for some rims and lowering before the kit... might look a bit unusual with a kitted car without mags :P I must say, Sportivos are pretty nice looking... I believe there is no "kit" available to buy for the Sportivo bodykit.. you'll need to go into Toyota and check the part numbers for each individual part. So... you'll be looking for the front bar, rear bar, side skirts, spoiler and I believe there's a special rock cover guard underneath from what I was told. Good luck anyway :)

Don't see a reason why you can't buy a kit from Toyota... might find it cheaper to buy overseas and ship to Australia than to buy one from Toyota here. As for price? I'm sure you own a phone mate... make a couple of calls and see how you go.

5k? lol... obviously dealers are more expensive, but hell, they aren't THAT expensive. 200k on the clock... due for the big service. Considering they're trying to sell you a car for over 1k more than it's worth and not having done the 200k service (timing belt, water pump, idler bearings, spark plugs, rear main seals and all the other stuff along with it)... I just, wouldn't touch it at all, lol... the problems that CAN happen have already been stated. These cars are normally bulletproof if looked after properly though.

1) Wouldn't bother rebuilding unless you want to make the engine BETTER rather than newer :P 2) As Anthony and Dave have said, Whiteline RSB makes a mountain of difference... just ask anyone that has one :)

I know the Gen 3s got OBD-I, but the Gen 4s and onwards got OBD-II... just the Australian proprietary one though. It's slightly harder for me to read OBD-I codes, but hell, I'd rather OBD-I anyday of the week :P Can at least adjust heaps of stuff without the car whinging about it

But but... the light blew? Either way, if the fuse is gone, for whatever reason, then obviously the light ain't gonna work :P lol... how'd the dome light stop working then? I reckon there's a relationship with the interior dome light and the central locking...

I ended up getting the General CTs because the Bendix Advance pads weren't being made anymore. The difference was the nominal temp for what they can handle. The General CTs can handle somewhere around 330 degrees and the Advance were around 380 degrees... Now, I don't flog the car around that much at all, so General CTs were fine for me, and they made a better difference than the old ones!

KE70, they come with the tyres too? The Michelin Energy tyres are around 220-300 bucks each! hehehe

Yeah dude, might have ended up in a crash and got repaired... can't tell these days. You might have the rack and pinion might be rooted too for all you know? Seems like lots of underlying work is hiding in that thing... Just because it looks good, doesn't mean it is good.

Yeah mate, if there's a problem, you'd better just fix it... obviously it's getting worse... it'll get so bad that you'll screw the engine from it being too hot. It could be a water pump problem, who knows... maybe even the heads, which I hope it's not. I'd be getting it to the radiator dude asap or at least your mechanic... sure, you'll probably have to pay a small fee for him to tell you the issue, but at least you'll know what the problem is and your car will keep going.

Well, if the light blows, it might have had over current been passed down the line to blow the fuse... why it affected your central locking? Wouldn't have a clue. Maybe it relies on the dome fuse for the light to come on when the car's unlocked? who knows... you'd only be able to get this information from someone who's had the same issue and I doubt Toyota mechanics would know the answer to that straight away mate.

No worries mate. WD40 will help, dunno if it'll solve it for the rest of it's life though. Normally dirt and grit just get caught up in them. I saw a writeup once on ToyotaNation a couple of weeks ago, seemed straight forward but yeah, helped with the issue.
