PM him either on here or Auscam... he might be American, but he knows fkin everything LOL!

  3. Ksport are awesome... have been in a car with them in. Stiff, but very controllable. 36 way dampening system... can't go wrong there. I believe the Ksport coilovers comes with new strut tower thingys etc. Whiteline RSB will make a HUGE difference. Dunno if it's worth getting the front strut bar, but yeah. Unsure about camber/castor kits too... they're normally on RWD cars for "going around corners really fast" and also doesn't wear the tyre out as much if you've set it correctly.
  4. BAM! Made up no probs... it's good when you know people ay..
  5. Ok... for starters, it's a Camry. The 5SFEs are said to be one of the most sophisticated engines of it's time. They're one of the most reliable too... If you look after it, it'll look after you. If I had that car, I'd be fixing the HG without any further questions. It's either that or replace the engine. I mean, you can sell it off, it just means you're handing the burden over to someone else.
  6. 225k on the clock is only half it's lifetime. I seen these engines with over 500k on the clock and working without any problems. As long as you service it when it should and fix problems as they arise, there's no reason not to fix the HG. If I blew my HG, then I'd be mega ****** off... much more costly than just $800.
  7. Nah dude that's bull****. Just because you agreed to have another bootlid doesn't mean you asked for a slightly different colour and scuff marks! As I mentioned before, go higher up the food chain. Stay onsite until you get a satisfactory outcome. If you don't get any luck from there, I'd be asking for a full refund and taking it to the ACCC. If they sell you something and find that it's not what was originally ordered, then there's no reason for them to not refund you the money. They know they've stuffed up and they have to fix the mess.
  8. Ah yeah... know that feeling... go to Mooloolaba spit... check out the Rice Burners there... "wow, wonder if I can do that too?"
  9. That's true, it does expand when it takes the extra heat from the car's cooling system... but I can't say that this is the same for my car! It'll spit the coolant out if there's no pressure on any of the caps though... and yup, burns too :P lol
  10. So according to that spec sheet they can do a 15.5.. i wonder if that is the manual or auto time??? cause if its the auto time you could take a bit more of that... Also that lists the magna times as around the 15.2 or so... i know my cousins have got theirs down to 14.5 basically stock... so i'm fairly confident the Camry (in Manual) should be at least low 15s... Remember that everyone tests and times cars differently. It can depend on track, day, time of day, weather, whether they had a full tank of fuel or not, whether they had a second person in the car (either Wheels or Motor do this), how well the driver "knew" the car and could launch it, whether the run was done in both directions etc etc etc. And timeslips of cars "basically stock" (to me than means they AREN'T stock) at a drag strip have to be taken with a grain of salt too - if they're not exactly stock, what mods have been done to improve performance? And did they do as most people do and remove spare tyre/back seats etc to get the weight down a bit, thus also tainting the result? That's exactly it ay... there's so many variables that can be taken into consideration. All you have to do is LOOK the wrong way and there goes half a second hahahahaha
  11. Well... you could easily do better than that. For all we know, the person who was driving when the specs were printed might have been either a sook or a complete powerhouse nutcase... Each engine wears differently over time.. you can't expect the engine to hold the same power 3-5-10 years down the track can you?
  12. Oh HELL NO, those swirl marks look bad as! There's no way in hell I'd want a Camry with a surface like that... even my 95 Camry doesn't have those marks! I can notice a slight colour difference... might be more noticeable in person I reckon. If you don't get any joy from one person... you move higher up the food chain til you find someone that'll help. You stay onsite until the problem's fixed. That's what I do... works every time. If you're 100% sure you're being dealt wrongfully, you shouldn't have a problem expressing that to the General Manager.
  13. Who knows, you just might be right. It all comes down to the driver really. I have no problems keeping up with TJ Magnas... they might claim to be 160kw but my 3L 3VZ has no issues keeping with the Aussie Magna Club :) I guess the Toyota engines were just better built? Dunno...
  14. It's not something that you'd see hittin the dragstrip much... I'd imagine around mid 16s... low 17s... depending on how you drive. They're a bulky car, at stock suspension, wheels and no mods to the engine, you can't expect too much out of it. Supercharged 1MZs on Gen 4s would only get 2-3 secs better than that anyway on a 4 psi pulley. Lucky it's a manual... :)
  15. When the engine's COLD, make sure the coolant reservoir is at the full line. When the engine's at operating temp, it will only be around 1/2 way or thereabouts... don't top it up if this happens... once it starts to cool down, you'll see it overflow. What I'd do: Wait til the engine is cold as ice... fill up the reservoir, remove the filler cap where you fill the coolant up and fill that nearly to the brim. Start the car and keep an eye on the coolant level... it'll start to gradually decrease. As it decreases, start topping it up, wait til ALL the bubbles disappear (that goes for even the most minute bubbles) this can take 15-30 mins at idle. Now, for the head gasket... 800 bucks is actually a good price. I'm guessing this is a 5SFE? I know that getting my 3VZ done I'd be looking over 1k easily... a good 12-15 hours work, plus parts.
  16. That's exactly right. Whatever I have said is just my opinion. Just because I don't like "bling" wheels doesn't mean you shouldn't get them. What I suggested are what I would want and what I reckon would suit your car. Yes, 5 spoke rims look boring, but put it with a car like yours - would look magic. Once again, that's just my opinion. In reply, I like the 1st, 4th, 5th and the ones on the Black Skyline. At the end of the day, you choose what YOU want on the car. You're always asking everyone else what you should get, but not ask yourself? You keep changing your rims around... why is that? Was it your opinion for the rims that you have put on there, or someone else's opinion? I know for a fact that not many people like the rims on my car at all... but hey, I don't give a toss :) They don't have to drive the car! I must say, it does need lowering in the front, but doesn't look anywhere near as bad as I thought it was going to be.
  17. I know ay... them Fox ones look sexaayyy I love the Lenso LS5s at the top... I was never keen on 5 spoke rims until I saw a doneup Cam in the States that had like, a Bronze top and Desert Red paint job with Bronze 5 spoke rims... man... I loved that car.
  18. Sorry, you HAVE to see these... If I owned your car, I'd be getting any of these... I'm not saying just stick to 5 spokers... but 5-6 spokes are just plain sexy. They look fkin AWESOME when they're in motion. I'm one who likes everything happening on a car, but you don't want people distracted by some VERY BUSY looking rims. A tasteful set of rims that look stylish, blend in with the car and give it an overall better look. This is obviously just my opinion.
  19. So far only like Number 1... Dude, you have a racer lookin car... seriously look into a nice set of 5 spokes?
  20. Sanding back the ridges... I believe the headlights are plastic aren't they? Ya gotta use rough stuff right down to the highest grit level to make it baby ***** smooth :) Like I said, if you wanna go down that avenue, go for it. I've seen it before... looks good. Leon (Leasaunce) I believe did this for his HIDs so yeah. If not, see if there's just plain aftermarket lights for that model?
  21. But but... you have a 2000 model? That's when 4.5s were made. Unless yours is an "earlier in the year" type one that kept the Gen 4 appearance until the 4.5s came out in the end of the year? Apparently you can sand back the ridges in the headlights back to clear if you're clever enough. Saw that done on ToyotaNation once... lots of work involved though.
  22. Won't need a big brake kit, prob just the 2 pot brakes from a V6... really depends. Did you get that from Davey's suggested turbo kit? He knows what to do... You're lucky these engines aren't anywhere near as pedantic as the 1MZs.. can get away with blue murder on the 3VZs :P If you were gonna go with the RWD conversion, you wouldn't keep the 3VZ anyway. I would place in a 1JZGTE or something along those lines. It's too bad we don't live in Canada - I know of a person (aka Tony the Tiger) can can do a turbo build on 1MZs for around 7-8k installed and tuned. This is Tony's car... an absolute weapon.
  23. Hey mate, Try this on for size: http://camrystuff.com/ Should have what you're after... quite common for the resistor to go after 20 years :P
  24. Technically you're meant to get a gain from the intake... but realistically, there's next to no difference. The exhaust on the other hand... if setup correctly, can give you maybe a few kw gain? Much of a muchness.
  25. Sean, If you want a high quality, and I mean high quality Gen 4, talk to "SupaTouring". Dave has a 98 or 99 Gen 4... manual I think. VERY nice car. That car was supercharged until that was sold to another friend of mine (also on this forum) PM him on here or at Auscam... I was seriously thinking about buying it, but in between two minds on whether to keep my Gen 3 Tourer or not. I'd seriously consider it.. it has all bushings done and maintained like brand new.
