  1. TEIN have its SS for our car, available in US market. Now looks like the Japanese got theirs too.
  2. Cusco Zero 2 is not the ultimate. 5 pre-adjust settings don't allow fine tuning for the track. Unless you are cool with the pre-adjusted settings that is. But yes you can go very low.
  3. Drummond Motorsport (DMS) I think thats the best for both track and daily.
  4. Have anyone here driven the car? My mate saw one in city (Melbourne). I didn't know its actualy out. Or could it be the journos test driving it.
  5. If I wanted that I wouldn't buy either a Honda or a Toyota... Opps, forgot to say affordable no-comprimised sports car. My bad.
  6. If you want a no-comprimised sports car out from the dealer, then Honda's sports line up is the one to go for. Toyota is lacking in that are at this point of time, and I don't think it will change its image anytime soon. Their hey-day is way past. But I still want a Celi.
  7. good to see we share the same opinion of each other.... But i'm sure i was sharing my opinions with brian i don't remember actually asking you for your thoughts? Hmmm yep pretty sure i didn't ask ...... but now that you have entered the discussion .... Maybe you should stop granny shifting and double clutching like You should :P :P :P I know you didn't ask. I was expressing my opinion. Do I sound too hostile for your liking?
  8. Actually you're right schmicko I kept thinking the MAF is on top of the pipe. It is AEM copy, and the MAF on AEM is behind the pipe.
  9. The description is for Matrix XRS, which should fit. The one pictured is not the one though, unless its reversed because its facing the wrong way.
  10. Because not everyone reads the debates or topics regarding this matter. And not everybody knows the differences between the two cars mentioned in this topic.
  11. Because not everyone reads the debates or topics regarding this matter. And not everybody knows the differences between the two cars mentioned in this topic. Why not you add some constructive and informative reply instead of throwing fire to those who seek an answer they missed out on.
  12. i went to toyota to check new corolla.
  13. Omnipotent car was impotent on dyno day. He was using V-Power 98. The dyno is dynamic, not dyno dynamic though. The other one. Not sure if the thesis is valid, but on that day it is almost certain that those who uses V-Power resulted in lower power reading. My car for example is doing fine at 87.1kw, its almost consistent to 84kw dyno we had 2 years ago at NT Performance. Mobil for the former, BP for the latter. Omnipotent starts askinig everyone what fuel they are using throughout the dyno (haha), and yeah V-Power is lacking.
  14. Hello, by the way just what fuel are u using goodboyz?
  15. What fuel are you using on the dyno day? I realised seems like those who uses V-Power achieved lower power reading, regardless of what car.
  16. I reckon the best of both world would be something in the form of DSG by Audi/VW and Selespeed Alfa (designed by ferrari some said, same one in F1 model originated in F355). Its true robotised manual as there is no tourqe converters and it allows you to choose fully automated manual if you want to, or you do the gear shift yourself. If I remember correctly, SMG is not true robotised manual like DSG and Selespeed as it uses tourqe converters. It really is like driving a car in video game arcades and its very cool, and you don't get that artificial feeling like using the manual mode in automatic gearbox. Most importantly robotised manual gearbox react as fast, if not faster than manual transmission gearbox. Just don't get mixed up thinking its auto as you will roll down on uphill. However, some likes the purist approach where it requires full driver involvement and I believe only manual transmission can do that. Controlling 3 pedals and a gear stick, and uses all of them in mere seconds (rev matching down shift for example) is very cool and rewarding, and is almost like foot dancing. Be one with the machine. Manual can be tiresome on city traffic, and driving in a city like Jakarta in Indonesia really worn me out (no traffic takes 20 mins, with traffic takes 1 hour for the same destination). So in condition such as that I would pick automatic. Thankfully Melbourne traffic is not bad during rush hour, I can still tolerate it with manual. Sydney is more hectic, so its no wonder many choose automatic over there. But not all automatic is bad, for example the German made ZF gearbox found in Ford and now Maseratti, and SMG found in BMW. Automatic transmission is getting better and better, so perhaps one day manual is left for option instead of standard in most brands of car. Plus, most buyers pick automatic, such as in Australian market.
  17. Nice. Quality projector headlight is never cheap. Especially O.E.M ones with quality HID Lens. And its nice driving with projector HID at night - plus you don't blind the person in front of you too.
  18. Why don't you change the tyres first. Is that tyres of yours standard 16' Sportivo tyres? What you have at the moment is about enough, and just like others had said you should test the car on the track first to find the limit of the car and your driving before deciding what to do with the suspensions. Changing shocks is not needed for you at the moment. LSD is a nice upgrade. How to combat understeer? Why don't you start playing with the damper adjustment on your coilover? But don't be thinking it'll completely eliminate the understeer nature of FWD. Adding front Sway bar increases stability, and yes it will promote understeer - but then you have your coilover to combat this by tuning the damper. So buying front sway bar is a good idea too if you feel further stability is needed. Basically it comes back to your driving that determines what to upgrade and how to tune it - Good Luck.
  19. What projector brand does that shop use? BOSCH? Is it HID Projector or halogen projector? AU$500 is a fair ask, maybe cheap if they uses something like BOSCH Projector. I would expect $1000 spending for quality HID Projector headlight modifications. Worth it or not depending on your goal.
  20. Cusco Zero 2 is a nice coilover design, but its got limitations. The Zero 2 have 5 pre-set damper adjustments, and you are stuck with that. Although is nice to have the nice fella in Cusco to set 5 pre-et adjustment for you, but later it may come to a point where those 5 pre-set damper settings won't allow you to fine tune the handling (as it is pre-set). But the seperate height adjusment from the shock absorber body is a nice touch, so lowering won't sacrifce the strut travel. For the same money you can buy DMS coilover 40mm strut - superior in damper design, have more flexible in damper adjustments and is both bound and rebound. Softest settings can be as soft if not softer than O.E.M shock absorber too - so you won't need to worry if its going to be too hard for a ride. It also have progressive spring, even double progressive as option if you want it. Lowering is only up to 50mm though, but this kind of coilover is for performance focus. It is Australian made and design, internationally recognised too. Both DMS and Zero 2 are monotube dampers. If you just want street use and wont touch the damper setting, but wanting some excellent handling maybe something like cusco zero 1 is more than enough. Even D2 would be enough, plus that one gives you damper tuning also (Zero 1 don't). If you wish to take it to the track quite often and itching to fine tune your suspension then I would recommend DMS over Cusco Zero 2 simply because its much better in every technical aspect. Anyway, I just thought I share with you some coilover information I gathered over the last year or so.
